Wiring harness matter. My driver's door got killed in a storm. Body shop replaced the door. Everything seemed OK until winter. Trim level on my car was SEL. Used door came off an SE. Both had power mirrors. The difference came into play during an Illinois freezing rain on the tollway. SEL had defrosting mirrors. SE did not. Body shop had long since sent the old door to the scap heap. But he made good on the repair by ordering a new and correct harness. Problem solved.
Just wanted to say thanks for your videos. I needed to access the lock in the tail gate of my truck and knew how to do it from watching your videos. Screw the haters. I'm appreciative of what you do.
People usually criticize that particular SUV because of high price and issues with a lot of mechanical and electrical part but for some reason I still do like the design of it. Look nice. Good video as always. 👍
they are nice highway cruisers. Ride very quite and smooth with comfortable seats front and back. Acadia/Traverse/Enclave are 100% identical mechanically.
I think they fixed most of the issues by 2015. The worst thing that happened to our 2011 model was fuel pump died twice and reverse solenoid on the transmission went out.
@@gjenkins1660 yeah, I've got a 2015 with 140k. Extended warranty replaced power steering pump and rebuilt the transmission at AAMCO. Only paid $150. No issues otherwise
Sister had a 2014 I was dedicated to keep on the road mechanically. Ran it up to 210k, and we sold it off last week still running and driving well. They are comfortable when they run and drive well. Power train servicing is tricky since everything is crammed in there. So expect to pay up when they break. I just did a radiator, 6 hour book time. Power steering hose is like 10 hours. Transmissions go out 100-150k. Coworkers father paid $5500 for a trans rebuild at a trans shop
Always good to see a new video posting from you. Thought the Enclave looked good as new last time you worked on it. I've noticed the same defect on the liftgate on a Traverse the same color. I am trying to convince the wife it works better when the garage door is fully open. Hoping to see you finish the pickup that was beside the Enclave. thanks for sharing
Okay, so it's time-lapsed... but I'm still amazed at how well you know how these things come apart and go back together. You can do in an hour what might take me three (or more) in no small part because I'd be afraid of breaking every clip and plug. You may have done one or two of these before. Or - "somebody's been here before."
It's 5:00 AM here in Queensland Australia, where we don't have daylight saving, which I hate. The other Eastern Australian states go off daylight saving and back to normal time next Sunday. And I'm running late, because we just had two power outages, one through the night, the other one a few minutes ago.
I remember this vehicle from before. This is the one that Mr. Spotty fell asleep on the job and you put him on the pizza box and told the pizza girl to deal with him. Oh the memories. 😉
Let me know if you ever pass through Murfreesboro Tennessee God bless you are very skilled some people go through life, not knowing what to do but you have been blessed to find your calling
I haven't seen a brake job with your magic hammer lately. BTW, I gave one of those to my nephew for Christmas and he has so far christened everyone and everything.
The full suspension job on these is very easy. Only a couple of hours to do all four corners in the driveway. Cheap too. Using KYB and AC Delco it was about $500 in parts.
Mr Spotty apparently did the cavity wax on the TH-cam channel he left Scott to start. He shaved his head to increase his following! Scott, your vids are relaxing to watch, Thanks!
14:12 thank god you finally did that, my OCD was going into overdrive looking at that lol I don't normally have OCD either hahaha "umm scott...ah, SCOTT SCOTTTTTT the BUMPERRRR" lol
Wow Scott....Mr. Spotty would be appalled! Lots of free parts at the local soccer field...That's Not Nice!....shut up Siri...I knew that damn phone was monitoring me. Yes, I'm using sarcasm here for those haters out there. Now get Scott a pizza!
Scott once again amazing work and dialog Stay Safe God Bless All Y'all PS if You haven't had enough Winter yet be glad to ship You some. Snowfall has reached 51 feet !!!!!
My kid brother crashed into the side of a tractor trailer at 5:30 in the morning in the dark, side of the trailer had no marker lights or reflective tape, kind of a bad set up for the grocery story loading dock blocked by bushes and a wall along the street so the kid came around a corner into basically a wall. It’s an 2008 Silverado 1500 LTZ with a lift and bumpers. Didn’t damage the frame, suspension, or any coolers or engine components. Just crushed in the hood- driver side fender, and the rad air or support bend and the whole top rail pulled the bolt inserts out. The cost for a hood, fender and undressed rad support in the correct color for a 15 year old truck threw a PRP yard- $1000 Like wow, I could have bought a whole truck for $3000
Now there's going to be a rash of stollen Enclave modules now ... thanks Scott. 🤣 Duke boys blew the struts... let hope the engine oil's been changed or that's toast too.
Just got screwed by the stealership today for changing a side detection module. Charged over $400.00 for the module, over $300.00 for labor. I went there because I don't have any way to program the new module. Wish I had seen this yesterday.
The gloves were the crowning touch of this video. An old friend returns and now another job well done. I san see why your friends keep coming back. The job was done right.
I went to Harbor Freight and asked if they had any 'Scotts Belt Molding Installation Tools' . Girl looked at me like I lost my mind. I guess they dont sell emporium quality tools. Anyway, the Enclave looks new...again!
13:54 Why do junkyards use those solvent based markers on the body panels? Don't they know it eats into the paint and even after you clean it off, you can still see the outlines of the numbers on the fender.
sorry scott. i bagged you a wile back for fitting a cowling before the windscreen. well i had 1 the other day. after 35 years of auto glass fitting it was a first and straight away i thought of you. so i'm sorry for doughting your work and still watch on saturday mornings in australia when you post your video's
The only thing different i would have done is while the wing was off . i would have put the new strut on . less chance of scratching the newly painted wing . Good job either way .
Amazing how many parts are required for such a small hit. Ya I know, welcome to the world of plastic cars. Good work, nice job, hope it lasts much longer.
I wouldn't call it small. Sounds like a heavy vehicle ran into it. Most of the impact damaged parts were made of metal. Had they all been made of metal they still would have needed replacing or bodywork done on them, which would have cost just as much. Ironically a plastic fender may have retained it's shape and just needed painting.
The sea turtles love playing tug a war with tape backing! Since I live in the "Land of Rust and Corruption" as well. Where do you suggest to pick parts?
Car repairing needs lots of faces. Especially when bolts are rust-welded on. Also more you use faces, more power you have on twisting, pulling and so on.
Always found it funny how it is cheaper to buy an entire new setup for a modern car than just the bit that needs replaced. Take my daughter's Mazda 3 (please!). Replacing the ball joint in the lower suspension arm was cheaper if I bought a replacement suspension arm complete with ball joint and had it fitted, than it was to buy just the ball joint itself and have the mechanic replace it in the original arm. Same story with the sway bar linkages - X dollars to get the bushes alone, but X + 5 dollars to get the entire arm with new bushes and caps. A lot of other parts (including the struts / shocks) are the same story. It's all down to the amount of time it takes to disassemble, replace and reassemble......yet the cost for the entire thing doesn't really reflect the huge difference in time charged. Not that I am complaining, but it just seems wasteful somehow....and no, I'm not a recyclenazi climate-change zealot with a fully electric vehicle and a penchant for enjoying the aroma my own anal vapours on a frequent basis. The youngest of my 3 vehicles was assembled in 1979 and the oldest has eight cylinders in a 'V' formation and drinks 95 octane faster than Oliver Reed ever drank. My favourite tool is a grease gun, but sadly even these relics of mine aren't immune from the 'replace the entire thing' scenario for some parts. At least we can all chuck 'em in the pile and send them off to be melted down and turned into new ones. Great vid, Scott. That has to be one of the easiest vehicles to pull to bits that I have seen you work on for quite a while! All the best from here in New Zealand.
On a foggy / damp day, there is a strong chance that " Bio " is going to be visible even after it is cleaned off. Grease markers seem to fill roughness and change surface tension for water.
Does replacement of the front struts require alignment? I know you farm that out, and if needed you do get it taken care of, just wondering for my own knowledge. That is what always concerned me, besides the extra cost of the struts, about FWD vehicles was having to pay for an alignment after replacing the front struts and now with my Silverado having the same type of set up I am not looking forward to replacing the front strut assembly.

Wow!!!! You should hang on to that guy with both hands… most would have just given you half a peace sign and sent you down the road
Nice job, Scott. It's a testament to how well you do things that customers keep coming back. As your shirt says, Drive, Crash, Fix, Repeat....
I bought that shirt
I love how meticulous you are, no matter what you're fixing!
Keeping skin on your fingers is something any mechanic can identify with.Being safe is something you demonstrate very well. Live long and prosper!
Just wanted to say thanks for your videos. I needed to access the lock in the tail gate of my truck and knew how to do it from watching your videos. Screw the haters. I'm appreciative of what you do.
You should do a video on how to remove all the different fasteners. It would be a game changer for us commoners.
You just need the brake job hammer and they come right out
Awesome repair Scott, your customers are lucky to have a guy like you and a spotty.
Nice to see someone who does quality work, so many hackers out there that love body fill... small amounts to refine something is fine
Hi from Ontario Canada, hope you have a great day.
Love these longer content scott, you’re attention to detail still amazes me and I’ve been following your channel for ages, great post scott

how nice is to see that someone who love cars done the proper job on yours..BRAVO SCOTT with a bunch of appropriate tools 😆👍😉

The wiring harness tip was great, thanks Scott!

im not surprised
as a former GM tech I believe all GM Lambda platform cars are cursed.

The door adjustment tool is missing from your Amazon store 😊😊😊
I was so so glad to watch my daughters Buick Enclave go bye bye to another sucker to deal with the POC.
the best part is all of the free parts you got with the used door can go straight into the Scott's Enclave Emporium parts inventory!
Nice job , you’re a professional, I want to be like you when I grow up

I'm here to see the belt molding installation tool at work. Never knew it had so many uses.

I enjoy your body repair videos you do.
Lots of GM cars and trucks have changed over the years for removal of panels .
This Enclave dutifully followed the commands on the Vehcor t-shirt: Drive. Crash. Fix. Repeat.
Not too dutifully, since the car was parked. ;)

Which brand of strut kit have you had the best results from, for the Enclave? Monroe, KYB, Gabriel, etc.
I put some kyb compete strut assemblies on a 14 with success. Lasted a couple years and the vehicle was sold then. Rears are shock assemblies.

Nice Job as always.
