Not because I did the work to it, but this thing is strong. In stock form it’s good but with a few mods it completely changes it into an animal, grab, squeeze, and hold on cause it pulls hard. This is with a new stock raker height chain as well. A bit more aggressive on the chain and I bet the cut time will drop like crazy because it just has so much torque.
@@owentimo in this video it's stock I believe, other than a dual port muffler mod, just added a oem deflector to it. 👍🏻 they are great saws, and port up nice too!!!
@@dubbssawshop that would be a neat concept for a video, I’ve built many kits but I’ve never had my hands on a blue saw. But I just assume that as the kits have gotten more and more quality, so have their bastard blue brethren must have improved as well. If I ever did get one I’m sure I’d tear it down anyway just for peace of mind lol
That’s what I do to. Tear into it just to look and check for the peace of mind. My personal experience with the blue saws over the last few years has actually been great. No issues from any that I’ve bought and sold to customers other than swapping the carb on the g372’s.
Yeppers. I had to change mine out for a raisman branded pump. Way better. FT ended up figuring it out and I believe they now come with a different pump installed.
IMO both would be great choices, both are very solid saws, I would recommend the 395 more, has more brute power than 288, but the 288 holds its own also. Can't go wrong either way, but if you have the extra 💯 it's worth it for 395 no doubt.
@@rubentrujillo2013 so you’re saying the 395 weighs 3lbs more than a old school 288 bc I HATE how my 272 has oiler built in it’s got a shitty adjustment screw that’s plastic and the bar tensioner is literally between the inside dog and the bar…it’s a bitch to tighten up the bar so that’s why I was comparing the 288 bc it shares some of those shitty features
288 is my next endeavor. She looks strong how are your feeling with it.!!!! 🦾❤️🔥☀️

I’ve wanted to get my hands on one of these since they came out! I’ll get one of the kits eventually!
I’m definitely gonna get a kit and do some tweaking to it. I want to do that and compare the 2.

Have you had to do something with your oiler? The one I got will barely oil the bar

Have you had any finicky carb tuning issues?
@@iraagans3144 no never had any with this one. Did have ignition coil issues, swapped the set out with another AM set and issues went away.
Would you say get a 288 or a 395 there about a $100 price difference so that’s why I’m asking the 288 is way cheaper

@@dubbssawshop that’s what Arron said as well will be getting the 395 for sure
You should keep in mind the 395 is 3lbs heavier along with the extra dough.
