So happy to hear that you have been fighting and kickin butt behind the scenes and that you are feeling healthy enough to start playing with saws again!!
Glad to hear you’re healthy again, sure have missed your videos, absolutely enjoy your channel, prayers for great future health and well being, God bless you Sir.
More to come! so keep an eye out. Also more Sawmill videos coming, but I think It might have to warm up a bit LOL. By the way how is Rocky, he is a handsome pupper.
@@DIYwithUncleCy awesome. He is good. Just old. Lol he turned 10 a while again but he tries to keep up with our friends younger dogs. Lol the. He is down for a few days recovering.
My black dog Doc is 10 and now 75% blind. Having a blind dog is a challenge I tell ya. But I love him just the same, I raised both my guys from puppy stage. They are with me till the end.
Good to see you again Cy, I was wondering what happened to you. I do enjoy your videos and I'm glad you're back at it. Sorry to hear you had such a rough time there for a while and I hope you are healthy now! Just keep moving pal, lol!
glad to see your doing good. i used to watch your old videos all the time. i think i might have to get one of these since there usa stock now. i always just didnt wanna wait a month or more before so i never did get one. keep it up man. if i do get one ill make sure to use your link. take care
Hi Cy!!😀😀 Good to see you buddy. Sorry to hear about all the health problems you have had. Thank goodness you made it through them. I'm also having my share of health issues also but that's beside the point. I'm kinda like you when it comes to the saws. I really like the Stihl clones the best. But I have been looking at the 288 and kinda like it. It will be interesting to see you doing some milling with it. Take care of yourself my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al
Glad tour doing better and getting back into the saws I have 2 of there saws now and started buying them because of your videos I have there 660 and there 460 and there are many more that I want
My favorites so far have actually been the G388 and the G444. Both can mill and are still easy handling enough for felling and bucking too. But I gotta admit this G288 surprised me so that may change.
It looks like the air filter is not real tight. I have the Farmertec G372xp with 24" bar. It's a heavy saw. My air filter has an all threaded rod and wing nut which goes through the top of the filter to the carb, but there are no threads on the top of the carb so it kinda just sits on top of the carb. My manual also said to run a couple tanks of gas at 25:1 for break in. It does run great and cuts light crazy for the price.
The whole bottom of the filter is rubber so it is flexible, I assume to manage vibration but it was tight on there I assure you. A lot goes on when the camera is off too :-)
Glad to see you feeling better Cy. Hopefully you got to watch a few of my vids for entertainment while you were healing up. All our prayers for your healing and be safe brother. Looks like the 288 came tuned pretty well from the factory. Those old grunters like that little bit of fat tune. Happy New Year.
Well I got to admit I did not find your channel till your post but just subbed so now I know your there. Looks like you have some good content but stabilize that camera work, LOL.
Thanks for doing these videos! Glad you are up and working! Always enjoy the way you do your videos. It would be sweet to have Farmertec reach out to me to test some saw! :)
I almost bought a 288xp two days ago but i got the 372xp which i love , but im definitely gonna buy a 288xp or a 395xp, but havnt decided yet. Thanks for posing bud
I got a G466 and G444 . G444 on its way .. I got to use the G466 already great saw .only had to replace gas and oil caps they both leaked in the Minnesota cold . Any thing else I should be looking out for ? I ordered the 66 mm jug for my 070 to make it in to a 090 also.
@@DIYwithUncleCy I now have a issue with the new G466 the oilers not working .went thru first tank of gas and oil is only down 1/4 of a inch . Any ideas how to deal with it ? 🤔
Have not gotten to work with or on the 466 so couldn't tell ya. Try researching what to do when a MS460 has oiling problems, the solution should be the same.
@@DIYwithUncleCy It's same as G444.. I fixed it rag over oil cap and shot of air from air compressor.. works perfect it just air locked and cold thick oil. 👍😉
@@DIYwithUncleCy awesome noodles were great on it. Have u tried milling with it. A settled on a 661 36" bar for milling. Your thoughts on that one? Any bugs issues 🏴👍
Sorry TH-cam does not notify me when someone replies. Haven't gotten to mill with it yet. I need compatible bar and chain before I can. That said I am looking into adapters for my Sthil Bars to run o it.
They had some oiler issues on the G288. Hultzforma has an updated one that works better. She runs pretty good with factory tune. A lot need some good adjusting.
hello colleague. i have now bought a G888 and have to wait 1 month for the crown. how g288 behaved. i have 288 xp about 15 years. machine machine machine.
After the video I cut that cookie up into blocks, it went quick. I am sure that is partly the new, very sharp chain, but it was almost just lay the saw there and presto its done. So far I like it.
Do not make any low IQ or unfeeling comments to this man he's doing vids she some people made rude posts stop it now as with his new lease on life he deserves to be respected so do it and ask questions not be rude ever please also remeber respect for your elders try it you get way farther with that and learn this it's easier to catch flys with sugar than vinegar. Get it
Thank you Dan. Can't even tell you how many people I have actually had to Ban from making public comments (something we creators can do that viewers may not know). Much appreciated.
Glad to have u back... Stay well !

Not a bit actually. I am waiting for break in to finish before I adjust anything. 1 more tank of gas and it will be time.

Nice job Does it feel heavy? Keep bringing awesome videos. Thanks Craig. Pa.
Not really. But I am used to handling bigger saws and moving around slabs of walnut, Oak , and ash that WAY out weigh this dude.

Big Ash log. You know what I heard. 🤣🤣🤣
Yea I thought about subtitling that one then decided what the hell LOL.
288 and 288 lite was some of husquvarna saws they ever made
Nice sawrus funtime o
I thought you were going to open the box with a chainsaw. Haha
Damn did not think of that, and there was a battery powered saw under the bench LOL.
How heavy is it ?
I said at the end of the video, but its 20lbs w/o the bar.
What did u mix your oil on break ? I was thinking about 32:1 breakin then 40:1 for everyday running
I have been breaking them in at 40 to 1 and they have run fine.
Howdy Cy my name is Cy
Well to be honest my name is Cyrus, Cy is a nickname given to me when I lived in Japan. But nice to meet ya.

They don't noodle well. Clutch cover doesn't kick out the noodles well.
I did not join for chainsaws. I joined for the sawmill. stayed for the drums, gypsy style camping wagon, shop heaters ect ect ect.

you don't know what you do till you run one for a living cut fir wood don't count
Fir doesn't grow where I live or at least it's rare. That log was dry Ash very hard stuff.
Plus I used to have a tree trimming and removal service so am a pretty good judge of saws in general.
Stihl clone
Nope Husqvarna clone. Ya didn't listen to the video at all did ya?
I mean I even said it within the first 2 min 15 seconds. LOL
Dude yeah! To share I have the G888 and the G660 pro. Farmertec makes Fantastic saws
