I like the alcohol conversation because when I have any party I don’t allow it either and I feel like no one ever wants to hang with me and husband and kids because of it. My husband is a cop and every event there’s always alcohol involved and so I won’t go to them and get horrible backlash from others. However there’s a clear problem with most of them and it’s evident they are using it to cope for things they should be getting help for and I’m not supporting it. Also after my 9 year old got hep A on vacation I want my liver to be well enough that if I ever needed to donate anything I could to my kid. Also my biological dad is an alcoholic. Rant over.
Awww that’s totally understandable! It can be hard when everyone else wants to do the one thing you’re trying to avoid. But you are making healthy choices!
I don't associate with people who can't take care of themselves. Especially so if they are out of control when they drink. I'm perfectly fine with responsible adults who enjoy a drink and know how to handle themselves.
