    For someone who is not comfortable in front of a camera, I think you are doing very well. Every video I watched from you, you seemed to know your subject well and you passed some good information to your viewers

    I really like the new vlogging station and photo content. At the same time, you've kept the same review style, which is great because you do reviews much better than most, in my opinion. Unless one closely examines nearly-identical photos taken under nearly-identical conditions, most people can't see the difference from one film to the next. You pointed out Lomography CN 800's grain (very fine for its speed), wide latitude and color temperature compared with other films, which is exactly the kinds of things someone like me wants to know. You explained it all in layman's terms, which is what anyone starting out in photography needs to hear. And you showed us how the film makes colors pop, which everyone can appreciate. And congratulations on the milestone -- may your subs grow exponentially from here!

    Kodachrome was my favorite film for many years. Back then 400 speed film was vey grainy and 800 speed film didn't exist. I rarely use high ISO film because I sometimes use old cameras that have a highest speed of 1/300 or slower. Mostly I shoot ISO 200 or slower. Your work is great and you're getting better with the videos all the time.

    I just ordered my first box of Lomo 800! I’ve always wanted to try, but they were always out when I wanted to buy, so I’m excited to get that in the mail soon. Thanks for the review!

    Congratulations on the milestone Aly. I have shot the 100 and 400, but not the 800 yet. You really got some very nice results! I'll have to give it a try, thank you for the review!

    Dear Aly,
    Canny video as always:)
    I too like Lomo 800:)I like high speed films in general because it just means that no matter what the weather/time/season, I can always get the shot:)
    Regards,

    Cool stuff! Can totally relate to your not wanting to get very technical in reviews. I feel that there is a large chunk of film photography community that won't take anyone seriously unless they own a densitometer or smth lol Of course it's important to understand the general principles behind the process we use, but it's refreshing to see a more relaxed, real-world view on things, too.

    Thanks for another great video! I'll have to try Lomo. I'm not much into color on film but I do like the cooler look. Congrats on the book!

    Fantastic upload Alley , would you do a beginners guide to developing your own film ? As it’s costing me a small fortune to get mine developed

    • @AlysVintageCameraAlley
      @AlysVintageCameraAlley  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure. I was wanting to do something like that but wasn’t sure if anyone would want it. I started developing for the same reason. It was costing me upwards of $300 a month to send it out for processing because I shoot too much film lol

    I’ve also done alot of shooting from the car. It distracts me from being in a car on the roads. I will be trying different cameras soon as well.

Kodak; brownie’s Hawkeyes and Bulls eye. Polaroid 600 and back for Linhof. Pinhole; Ondu 135 pano, zero 120 Pano, Santa Barbara 4x5. Minolta AL-f. Hey awesome video! What do you think about the grain, for example in 14:43 the grain looks really smooth (which I really like actually) but the next shot it's really noticeable? (any ideas why that is?) I've loaded some lomo 800 in my canon A-1 and shot some fall (city) scenery on it. Also, what do you think about enlarging it on for example a website or print :)
    thanks a lot for the video, you already answered a bunch of my questions

    • @AlysVintageCameraAlley
      @AlysVintageCameraAlley  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. Thanks! The first photos had better lighting and the one after it the sun went in so it’s a tad under exposed. This film definitely gets grainy when underexposed. I think it’s fine for a website, I have them on my site all the time. As for enlarging then for a print, that would depend how large you want the print and how large you scan the negative. I print 8x10 photos (hanging in my wall) all the time and they’re smooth and I love them.

    Nice and informative video. What camera did you use to take all the pictures in the video?

    • @AlysVintageCameraAlley
      @AlysVintageCameraAlley  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They’re all different ones but I know the majority were shot with my Nikon F (you can see more of those on my last video about the Nikkor-s 50mm) as well as my Leica M6.
