You're right! It can be overbearing sometimes. I was in an Aviation college right after high school and was the only girl in class the majority of the time. Everyone in that school knew my name, even though I stayed to myself. One of the guys even showed up at my apartment one day, which was miles away from the school. And I've never shared my address with anyone. He was friendly, we were cool and all at school. But, I DID NOT appreciate that. That really creeped me out a little. But, not too much since I knew him and he was nice. He even called me his "little sister" most of the time.
Ladies! Beware of the creative arts. It's not much better than HR/etc. I know from a decade of experience. I'm still in the field. And with all of my experience, talent, skills, beauty, & having paid (still currently paying) my dues, there are still women (even strikingly beautiful women like myself) who work against you. I'm not saying it's impossible yo become successful in the entertainment industry...it's just far more toxic than you could fathom. I don't have the time at the moment to develop deeply into the reasons and what it's really like but please do your research and protection in the industry is of the utmost importance. Become friends with CASTING DIRECTORS, writers, and executive producers.
yes this is why i never went to hollywood lol im just not into it. i think a good creative arts option for exoticals is to start your OWN thing (for example lets say you like fashion, you can build a fashion instagram page using your own pics and be your own muse, or start your OWN blog as opposed to only being on other peoples platforms etc.) this is exactly why i left the whole journalism tv field and went into doing my own content online. its way more fulfilling and i am not controlled by anyone else's narrative. i also don't have to kiss anyones behind, i can just make a video and be done with it. ive heard so many bad stories about women trying to get into things like music theatre etc and being sabotaged by others. thank you for sharing sis! i hope to see content from you soon! 😍

Another thing I noticed is when I wear soft wavy Marcia Brady hair people are nicer, patient,helpful, supportive towards me. If I'm carrying a heavy box people will break their necks just to stop and help me. When I wear afro textured hair people treat me the polar opposite. I love receiving genuinely nice compliments from people ( I receive tons of good compliments from non black hispanic, middle eastern people)about my looks it lifts my spirits up.

At my age l just went through this recently. She wasn't a dsbw but l can she's very hood and hash. Within a week she made things VERY UNCOMFORTABLE for me, containly rushing me to finish tasks then told me l need to get more training, talked about me behind my back to a non bw. Only for the non bw to come to me and tell me EVERYTHING my fellow bw said about me. She had the nerve to say my hair is a wig and then put her hands in my hair! I'm getting too old for this type of nonsense, l thought l had left it behind in my 20's and 30's 😅😅😅

My little bit of admixture, that happened during the colonial period, is European, Native American, and Southeast Asian (via Madagascar). My hair is in it’s natural state now, silky bouncy curls.
