Yours is the first review of this new model I've watched on TH-cam that wasn't purely hype. Thanks for pointing out the few shortcomings as well as the high points of this watch. I didn't realize this watch is so thick until I saw this review. Thanks.
Picked up a MAMACOO's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Many years ago when my colleauge splirged on RM and he showed it to me, me not knowing RM innocently asked him is it a G-Shock and he just smiled. I then googled RM and found out it is more expensive than my car and wondered why on Earth would you spend money on a watch that looks like a kid's watch.
@@user-qh7mv8np2s I agree 100%. The first time I saw a Richard Mille was when I got curious about the watch Rob Dyrdek often wore on the tv show Ridiculousness. I thought for sure it was a white Casio G-Shock, but I Googled it and man was I surprised that such an ugly, cheap looking watch could cost that much. Not that I could ever afford one anyway.
While I disagree with this review that the Speedmaster Professional is better - this was a great review, much better than other channels - 360 degree view of the watch, all aspects covered like how to wind and a structured video.
Congratulations man! I’ve seen a lot of videos and pics where it looks like the legibility is kinda average with the high polish hands against the high polish dial. Looks great here indoors, be interested to see how people get on in brighter light
I'm torn with this one, Bracelet/clasp , case size and the Sapphire with the original Omega logo in the middle are fantastic and I love The Faux loom and the fact that the 3 sub register hands don't match is a real gripe for me. not sure if it annoys anyone else?
I too was hyped when pictures and videos came out recently about the new FOIS. Went to my local AD and saw it for myself. I was immediately slightly disappointed and underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong, the dimensions were great, the bracelet was supple and comfortable, and the sapphire crystal mimicking a hesalite crystal is a marvel of engineering. The problem to me was the dial: it didn’t seem to know if it were black or blue and took away from the package as a whole. Hard to explain. Please go see for yourself. Maybe it looks better in the sun. I am awaiting my decision to buy one after I see the watch on the leather strap. I will definitely keep my 3681 sapphire Speedy.
The hands not matching really triggers me. Those white hands have no place on this dial. You have the the faux patina contrasting nicely with that subdued dark blue dial and those reflective steel hour and minute hands aligning nicely with the case... and then you have those white hands that feel like they were pulled from some other watch and thrown in this one. I mean if all the chrono hands were white and the seconds hand was in line with the hour and minute hands I guess that would be a reasonable compromise, but as it is currently, it's just not it.
I agree 100% with the hands. As soon as you pointed that out, it bothers me now forever. Also the faux lume is too brown. They should have just done normal lume.
Not sure if you are familiar with the Gen 1 FOIS the Chrono hands were the same setup. I think you might be looking for problems. Not all Chronos have sub dial hands matching with the main hands. For reference take a look at Patek 5172G. I wonder why people call the color of lume faux patina. That's not completely how aged lume looks. There would also be brown and black specs mixed in. Especially if nothing else on the design is aged why would they make only one item look old. Even the leather strap looks new.
@@miabeatz80 the orignal watch had matching sub register hands, I can see what omega are trying to do with the hands but those of us with OCD its a real issue. 🤣🙃
Personally I would have prefer the white edition bracelet. It just doesnt look right with the moon watch feel. I agree with you the price is just getting absurd....how I also wish it was automatic instead of hand wound.
I see no reason for this watch to exist, except to sell a few more to the extreme Moon Watch enthusiasts. Well, then I have to correct myself, I guess that's reason enough. Not for me though, I have a hard time reading the time in bright sunlight as in the video due to the color scheme. The standard Moonwatch professional sapphire sandwhich (white, I think) is on my ToBuy list, but not in the immediate future.
Thanks for the review! I’m personally tired of the far too many variants of the Speedmaster (only my own feeling of course). And I’m also tired of the fauxtina vintage trend: true patina comes with time, it can’t be artificially produced and I find any brand new fauxtina to be completely contradictory. So this watch isn’t for me at all.
If you don't like variations of the speedy what leads you to watch this review? Also most brands have a grail variant that they often reproduce. Examples (date just, Santos, Royal oak) btw it's not fake patina it's a color choice because of the vintage design. It would be like asking Bentley to release a vintage rerelease in a modern color. IMO the lume should match the vintage vibe. If you look most vintage brands that produce a modern interpretation they do the same.
Yes 👍 you said perfectly 100p agree on all aspects. Why anyone would want piss yellow markers over crisp white markers is beyond me. Faux patina never looks as good as authentic patina a brand new watch with a dial that's supposed look old makes zero sense
@@miabeatz80No its fake its supposed to look like an aged dial that takes years to develop. So it's definitely faux and not authentic and doesn't look nearly as good as the real thing it looks like dried piss
Who says it’s fauxtina? Together with blueish dial, it’s just a variety of the common blue/orange color palette that works. Also think it is inspired on the view from space on earth in twilight as shown in Omega’s adverstisement.
They still make the 321 Ed White. What would be the need to put the 321 in another model that would cost the same and be just as limited? To me this is a welcome alternative if you like the look of the Ed White but you want a movement that's more accurate and robust. The original speedy didn't have an open back either so you're suggesting to put the 321 in a closed back case 🧐
@@robynsjp so if the Ed White is open back why would this one be closed? Also why would they make another 321 model seeing as those watches are hand assembled and take longer to make. Doesn't make sense to make another watch most people won't be able to get. Again this movement is more robust and accurate than a 321. 321, is simply better looking and more vintage.
@@miabeatz80 I'm probably not good to judge. My passion is for the pieces of the 1960s, so new releases are not very much something for me. I am the happy owner of an old 1967 321, and also of an old 1969 861. Their 1960s provenance is important for me as I was a kid in the 1960s and so the watches from then bring up personal memories - people I loved back then, special moments when I was a kid, etc. But this is not relevant for people who are younger. I guess everyone finds passion in very different watches for very different personal reasons - whether it is the beauty of the watch and hopefully the emotions that one feels.
@@robynsjp wow that's great that you have those vintage pieces. I would really like to get an original 321 myself. The beauty in the older simple designs is amazing.
The faux patina is a dealbreaker. It’s such a lame and disingenuous design decision. The lume isn’t aged so why would it look like it is? This is like a car with a fake hood scoop. Also I thought in 2024 we were moving past this.

I have seen two other watch personalities review this product within the last two weeks. I understand the product is a new release and you are using your pal’s watch but who drives the marketing and review process with you? Omega! Enjoy your work but beginning to develop a cynical view of TH-cam reviews and reviewers now.
I am not getting paid and get no benefit besides the views and maybe new followers. Why you have the feeling this review is biased? I think it is one of very few reviews with the real watch that was purchased for the full price. And the only one with some criticism.
I love the speed master but they are definitely not worth the price but can’t blame Omega. People are still paying these outrageous prices ,I guess people have to much money to spend
@@RLXOMGNot as bad as Omega no. Omega's prices are skyrocketing. I guess Omega has to pay for that terrible marketing and brand ambassadors that don't give 2 shits about the brand

I think it’s a great addition to the line up of Speedmaster However that Faux markers on the hands and indices are not for me
At least it’s clean. 99.99% of vintage Speedmaster luminous markers are in awful condition.

A beautiful watch..... Still get annoyed they haven't made it 100m WR especially with the closed case back
Everyone is saying that this is the perfect speedmaster. But no, moonwatch is better than FOIS.
It's a question of taste, which is subjective.
Price ??
It’s a beautiful watch just not for me. Call me boring but id go for a black sapphire sandwich,
Bloody he'll, not another one , then there be another and another, and so on.
Have to be honest, doesn't quite meet my expectations from the press shots. Nice, but a bit disappointing.
Those hands will disappear constanly with that sunray dial - not a tool watch certainly
