I just purchased the brand new 2024 release First Omega in Space Speedmaster by Omega.
In this video we’ll take a look at how it compares to the current Speedmaster professional with the same 3861 Caliber movement and put it side by side for comparison.
This new Speedmaster is almost perfect with Omega listening to the market and their customer feedback with a great size, beautiful dial, heritage look, and modern details.

Just a couple of points, i owned the previous model and it doesnt wear remotely smaller than the proffesional the dial is identical size, the only thing that makes the Pro bigger is the asymetric case to the crown. Its a 39mm watch that wears big, the hesalite style sapphire is not a new thing manufacturers have been doing this for years, Omega is the only manufacturer thats actually attempted to make a big thing out of it
Didn’t know it wasn’t new. I’m a big fan of sapphire over hesalite so it was a win for me.
@@CWPLife this is new, but it's obviously a remake of the FOIS which was previously remade without the sunburst dial etc, speedies have a lot of dial and generally wear big even this 39, I don't think it's 39 cos Omega listens to it's customers, it's a remake and in that sense is just historically sized, the sapphire looks cool but Seiko have been doing these kind of crystals for years, not a new thing
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the MAMACOO, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.

I agree with you, should be open case back. To me being able to view the movement is part of the experience of such a nice timepiece.
Agreed. Especially with sapphire being used anyways and the same movement in the exposed movement versions.

keeping the speedy professional because it's a classic. i never wear it though, because i'm leaning toward smaller watches and it's hard to wind with the little crown. That's what makes this watch so great

Here's a hack for you - wind your watch using your index finger on the back of the crown. Just slide/rub the top side edge of your index finger against the crown and do it really fast. You'll be able to fully wind a manual wind watch in seconds. Problem solved for your regular Speedy, as well as this watch. This method doesn't really work with a very solid crown like on a Rolex but this can work for many other watches.
I’ll have to try it out. Manual wind watches are a pain sometimes especially the regular speedy. Nomos I find easy and this new speedmaster. I’ll try your trick

Should I get this one over white dial speed master?
I would. It’s a classic look and even though the white dial is nice I think this is a timeless classic and smaller size. Also a little cheaper than white dial with same movement
@@CWPLifeWhy is everyone saying it wears smaller than the 3861 speedy pro? It doesn't. The pro has a smaller lug to lug which is more relevant than the diameter and the added 2mm from the case are only because of the integrated crown guards.
@@TheCrystalLakeKiller You are correct but try them on, that crown guard does make a difference. I know it sounds crazy but I have the Speedmaster Professional and had the 40mm Speedmaster Racing and the Pro does wear larger than the Racing. In my opinion the Pro is much better.

Is the 'smaller case' dimensions because it's missing the asymmetrical part of the case?
i don't think so. i think they were just following trend on the smaller case size

Yes, I have bought from MAMACOO more than once. I even bought a new Omega Speedmaster which came with the fancy box and packaging. I am thrilled with all my purchases here. I would purchase from MAMACOO again for sure.

Not sure. It was when I got it and didn’t see any TH-cam videos showing the watch just pictures. Not sure if it’s hard or not now.

The speedmaster actual size is 39.8 excluding the crown. Take the measurement by yourself and you will find out that both very close in size
you're right, it is closer to 40mm but still smaller than 42mm. I'm leaning toward smaller watches recently and i love the speedy look with a slightly smaller footprint
@@CWPLife dont get me wrong .. speedmaster is the most iconic and beautiful watch in the market .. it can be worn for any occasion amazing dial and accuracy and movement.. but i wish they just make it 39 and 46 lug to lug .. i own the professional ☺️
FANTASTIC ! BUT ! not a fan of that watch case back , should have gone see through or heavy engraving etc , the new doesn't cut it for me sadly , This watch could have and should have with the right case back blown Rolex out of the water ! Omega missed a trick !

agreed on that point. it might be cause it's so new and I also wear my watches a bit on the tighter size making it hard to take on and off

We can feel how exalted you are about this watch, but you went a bit fast in your assumption claiming that it was the best speedmaster to date.
You forgot the 321 Ed White that blows this FOIS out the water.
For owning both, the 321 remains superior.

i'm bias lol. i lean toward the smaller size watches and love the brush and modern details. I had an opportunity to get the 321 Ed White, but turned it down. I regret it lol

i would and it saves you a little money too. i lean toward smaller watches though. i think the hype is too strong for white dial speedmaster, but it's really up to you and your preference
