Tinnitus is caused by the brain, not the auditory nerve itself. I had three mini-strokes several years ago and have had tinnitis ever since. I had forgotten about this video, but yesterday the noise was so bad I could hardly think. I came back and listened with headphones. After the first session I felt relaxed, but the noise level didn't diminish all that much. Today I decided to listen while I did laundry. After 20 minutes, I had to stop--and it is SO QUIET! Yes, there's a little "rushing" noise, but no super-loud high pitched whistle!! PLEASE never take this video down, we need it!

I have tried many of these treatments and this one works best for me usually. They say it isn't the ears but the brain that is what causes this condition. I have added meditation on believing the sound isn't actually happening. By denying its power I gain power over it. If you haven't learned to meditate, you should try it and as a warning, it will be nearly impossible at first. Stick with it! Peace and blessings to all...from Nana.

I tried also many treatments and it’s true that meditation works. I use it to fall asleep. The day I started this kind of treatment it seems that it is starting to be lesser sound. And reading about the improvements of people gives a lot of hope. Stay healthy and greetings from the Netherlands.

As I have said before seems weather effects my ear noise. I have lost some of my hearing at 77 years old wear hearing aids from MD Hearing which helps a lot but with springtime weather here and many bad storms coming through every week now ear noise is up. March 1st and more storms coming next week, and ear noise is high. These sounds do help, and I thank you for letting us hear them. Hope the best to all and have a great spring and summer.

8 months of 24/7 Tinnitus and I'm 22. Whenever it decides to spike up I go to this sound which helps through the spikes until they do eventually go down to where the sound is very tolerable that I don't even care about it. What stands out about this condition is that if you have the 24/7 kind you never get a break from it, constantly suffering with no peace, which that doesn't happen with practically all other conditions. That's why I always say tinnitus is one of the worst conditions a human can get and of course no cure or much of anything. At least with other conditions people go to the doctors with, the doctors at least have good plans for it. Tinnitus is in another league, seems to be more of a mystery to modern science. Good sleep is sooo important which thankfully I get good sleep most of the time.

Similar story here, but I have T for much longer. What I don't get is that on some days the T is relatively quiet, causing me very little or none discomfort. Other days it's a different story. I am trying to understand the pattern behind the spike changes, but I have no explanation! I pretty much have the same routine almost every day, but sometimes the T is high, sometimes low. I'd LOVE to know what 's causing the fluctuations!

Well, I am a year older at 78 and fall weather coming to Alabama making my ear noise go way up. This does help settle me down some and hence helps my ears settle down. First time in long time that it has gotten this bad. I had a good run of not much noise for long time but now it is back again. Windy and pretty cool for this time of the year here in the south. I am sure some of it is stress as I have a barium swallow test tomorrow that worries me. Last time five years ago trying same test it made me throw up. Passed the modified swallow where they mix fruit with the barium. Hope it goes well where they can try to improve my swallowing. Ears may go down after this test if I can handle it well. Best of luck to all with tinnitus pray yours gets better.

This is a condition that gets very little attention because it doesn't kill you. How many death certificates say tinnitus? (None) This is a terrible affliction which can lead to dark places. This needs to be acknowledged.Far more research is needed and far more funding put into it. Every hospital should have a Tinnitus Clinic and far more Tinnitus Therapists to staff them.I was lucky to get one that I shall be forever thankful to.

@@johnkingson6250 Yeah, I figured that out from researching. That helps, but you have to reset it after a while as I guess when you close and reopen your browser, that isn't saved. And I've noticed the "loop" function would like to turn itself off after a while. It's not reliable. If it was like 4 or 8 hours long, then one wouldn't have to worry about it so much. Many others who do this run it for 4 or 8 hours.
I also wish he'd upload a version without the beeps. Do you know what the background noise is? I assume it's a type of "white" noise? As I know there is pink and brown noise. Not sure what the pitch is. As I'm guessing one could just make one of these themselves, which is what I thought of doing. Though I only really need it during the times my Tinnitus is really loud.

When listening only. Occasionally people can and will experience a residual inhibition effect….simply put the sound of tinnitus and be lowered or even almost stop for a short period of time…a few minutes to several hours. Generally a match to the frequency or pitch to one’s tinnitus provides a higher chance for success. However, there is no cure just a temporary relief if one is fortunate to experience RI (residual inhibition).
