Your tutorials are great. Thank you so much for making and sharing them. As I learn all this stuff, I'm just amazed how a ridiculously simple thing like "roughen" turns a plain triangle into a tree😂
Thanks so much for the comment Jeff, I'm happy to share! I love that little roughen trick too, I think there are so many features in Illustrator that are semi hidden or under used and it's fun to find ways to showcase them!
Hi, I was wondering if you could help me. For gradient mesh (5:17) I'm following exactly the same process but it doesn't let me move the mech it's moving the all rectangle, do you know what wrong? and thank you so much
Hi Camille, the first thing I would check is which selection tool you are using, the Direct Select (white arrow) is the one you can use to select individual points. Also before you start making your selection, make sure there is nothing selected either by going to the Select menu and choosing Deselect or by click on an empty area of the pasteboard. You can also check what you have currently selected by checking the Layers Panel. I hope that helps! ~ Kat
Hi there, do you mean this part?: th-cam.com/video/2mtmje9OH9Y/w-d-xo.html You may want to make sure you have just that one shape selected and that you have switched to the transparency panel (separate from the gradient panel) If you are still having trouble can you describe what's happening when you try to set the blending mode?
Hi Joe, sorry to hear you are stuck, the Warp Tool Options should show up when you double click the Warp Tool in the toolbar, you just need to make sure you have the tool selected/active first. Let me know if that works for you!
Good Day ma'am the video is very detailed and informative and easy to follow along. Thank you ma'am please I can't seem to see the link for the color swatches.
Hello, I'm so glad you like the tutorial! You can download the free file with the color swatches here: www.patreon.com/posts/85693493 Just click the link that says "Sunset Lake Starter File.zip" and the Illustrator file has all of the colors and gradients in the swatch panel for you 😊
Hi Aakarshit! Sorry for the delayed reply, for illustrations like this what I typically do is a make a Moodboard where I gather lots of other images for inspiration (I like to browse sites like Dribbble, Behance, Pinterest etc) as well as palettes and my own sketches. In this particular example I definitely searched "sunset color palettes" on Google images and I knew I wanted a really saturated bright version so I tried a few out in really simple versions of the illustration before settling on this color set. I usually never use a palette without tweaking it and adding or adjusting colors. I'll be doing a whole series on color theory and making mood boards very soon so if you have any other questions please let me know!
Hi Maddi, I just tried it and it worked for me, is it just that the file looks blank on the preview maybe? If your are able to download and open in Illustrator the colors should be in the swatches panel
@@VectorArtAcademy Yeah its coming up blank, its only a single file too nothing else. Mind you I am extremely outdated with my computer as I am still on El Capitan and not able to progress further. It must be my issue. Thanks for replying anyway :)
Sorry for the confusion! The starter file is supposed to appear blank when you open it but if you look in the swatches panel and the layers panel you will see the color and gradient swatches are all there and the layer structure with named layers. There is also a hidden and locked layer with the bird shapes. I just did a fresh download of the starter file from the drop box link and made sure those are coming up so let me know if you still don't see them.
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial, let me know if you have any questions! 🌞
