    My first embroidery machine was Brother dream machine 😊 there was not a lot video about it on TH-cam. I’ve learned everything all by myself. Then I got baby lock valiant 10 needle, heat press, Cricut, melco 16 needle and I figured out how to use them all by myself. Trial and error will tech you a lot :)

    Nice video! I have had my BAI 15 needle mirror for a year and a half and I love it! I have had zero issues with it to date. It sewed perfect right out of the crate. I have backed up stitches with mine with no issues, but I don't recall ever going back 500 stitches. I also haven't had any issues with any of the green hoops, but if I do, mighty hoops is my first replacement "wish" option. It's great seeing your business taking off! I look forward to watching your comparison video between the BAI and Ricoma.

    Great video. I’ve been doing embroidery since about 2015, using a single needle Janome from the 90s. I want to do SO MUCH more bc I love it so much. Do you have any advice about how to use social media to build your business? I feel lost when it comes to posting items and building engagement.

    This is a fascinating story. I am in Germany and started on a sewing machine that had an attachment for embroidery. I was fascinated and moved onto a Brother 1-needle machine that I was able to pick up 2nd hand in perfect condition. Then I sold that and bought a 6-needle Brother (I still love that one and have it) and then I added a Melco Bravo - my Rolls Royce. It is amazing. The service and help is amazing too, at least here in Germany. I like the Melco also because the quality is outstanding and it is an American engineering project. Superb. You do not have tension problems with Melco.

    • @nojarai
      @nojarai 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am looking to get a melco bravo, are there any cons with it? I know it does have alot of pros. Please let me know!

    • @Braisin-Raisin
      @Braisin-Raisin 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Like with everything, there are a few. My experience is that it produces a terrific result mostly. If you intend to sew caps etc. with polyester thread, then it is unsurpassed and great. I work artistically and often use rayon thread. Those have a tendency not to respond well to the cutting process. The yarn goes under tension when being cut and then tends to slip out of the needle, not always but too often. I find the Brother better for thread cuts with rayon thread. Never have a problem with rayon slipping our of the needle or faulty thread cuts but the Brother has a smaller embroidery field and only 6 or 10 needles. You will never find the perfect machine. I am glad I kept both. Also, you need to make sure you can contact someone if anything goes wrong - a good mechanic is essential! Mine taught me a lot and I am still learning. All in all, I have found a niche that works perfectly for the Melco and does not work so well with the Brother, so I do my rayon florals on the Brother, and my finest antique-style lace with a super fine cotton thread on the Melco. I do not do caps, shoes, belts book marks etc. Hope that helps!@@nojarai

    • @nojarai
      @nojarai 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup, this helps a ton! Thank you very much. As in mechanic, you are not talking about the Melco service itself, but one from a nearby shop? I am deciding which multi needle to go for and am stuck, LOL
      It is very hard to come to a decision with the amount of embroidery machines that exist.

    • @Braisin-Raisin
      @Braisin-Raisin 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really depends what you want to make! As far as quality is concerned, the Melco is superb - it used to be made entirely in the USA and the tooling of the parts are terrific. How many colors are you thinking of using - do yu need 16? Do you want to sell and if yes, what? Do you want to do your own digitizing and if yes, what? As far as mechanics are concerned, yes, it would help to have an expert within reasonable distance. And once he (she) is there, stay and look at what they do in order to learn. I made a couple of major booboos and the machine stopped immediately, before something really messed up. I do not regret buying the machine but it is a load of money! I do not do embroideries on order but design something and sell it in my online shop. Embroidering the same thing over and over would bore me to tears, but I do it half as an enjoyment, half for money. If you have specific questions, I am happy to give you my experience.@@nojarai

    • @nojarai
      @nojarai 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I run a small shop and am making some designs, I do use 16 colors, sometimes even more, because the different designs use a lot of different colors.
      As per digitizing, I have someone who does it for me, so technically I don't really need that part, but its a bonus if it comes with it.
      As per the price of the machine, I am thinking of purchasing it via the financing aspect, as it would be able to pay itself off over time.
      Sometimes, I do designs that are around 50-70k stitches, which is pretty much a PNG that has been digitized, and sometimes I do an outline which would not be as many stitches. That's why I was asking how would those come out with the machine.
      Do you think it would be a valid purchase for my business?

    If you are doing appliqué and have the offset on it doesn’t do well trying to go back a lot of stitches or to another color. You can go back a few stitches if say a bobbin goes out or a thread breaks without issue but not too far

Yes Bai does have more than a few things that could be improved, but when you weigh it all together it's not as bad as people believe.

      I am thinking of getting this machine, would you recommend it?

    • @renitadenee
      @renitadenee 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @nojarai I've had mine 3 years with no regrets. I personally believe if you are willing to learn to use it, then this is a good buy. This is not a plug and play domestic machine like a Brother or Babylock, it is an industrial machine. So there is a learning curve and a different mindset.

    • @nojarai
      @nojarai 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Is there a HUGE learning curve? Should I be worried about maintenance? What exactly do you have to be prepared to learn?@@renitadenee

    • @renitadenee
      @renitadenee 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @nojarai that depends on the person. My first machine is a Brother. Those file types save colors, and everything so you really don't have to think. Industrial machines as a whole do no do this you have to think about where each color goes. You have to think about how big your design is and which hoop you want to use. You have to think to troubleshoot tension changes. The maintenance isn't hard but it's not like a domestic machine where once it gets to a certain number you should take it in and drop it off for servicing. Industrial machines require you to oil moving parts with some regularity. When your machine needs major servicing you contact a mechanic who comes to the machine just like if your plumbing has an issue you Contact someone to come to your home to fix it. The regular maintenance hasn't been too difficult and I haven't had any major issues that I could not solve myself.

    Going back without the issue your having which should not happen. It's weird. On the Tajima there is the control where you can go FF forward or FB Back. Under that is where you can dial the knob to go back or forward to a color. Under that is where you can dial how many stitches you want to go back. Pick the one you want and enter and the machine goes to that more smoothly. I bet you have it. I'm not where. Going back manually make the machine jump especially when you are doing satin stitches.
    I've been embroidering for 4 years at a logo shop. If you need any understanding, I might can help.
