I remember this. To unlock characters in classic mode and adventure mode I basically just spammed the up attack. The really difficult thing was the platforming levels.
@@Dexuz The OCs were a result from SSF1 originally being a Sonic Fangame. There isn't really much of a story for them as far as I am aware, Blue and Blade were just carried over.

Honestly, there are way better Flash platform fighters than SSF1. Newgrounds Rumble, Terrascape, and Chaos Faction 2 are miles better than Super Smash Flash 1 in controls, gameplay, and art style at the time. What’s even the point of play SSF1 when SSF2 exist. Even Chaos Faction 1 is better than Super Smash Flash 1.

This issue wasn't too bad if you had the EXE version. You could just make the window smaller to reveal more of the stage. Obviously it still follows player 1 but hey player 2 can at least see their character most of the time now
I remember there was this weird quirk in this game, where if your opponent ran at you full speed and you hit them with a close range melee attack, they would fly off screen and lose a life. It really made choosing the harder difficulties of classic mode super easy.

(This may exist but if it does I haven’t ever heard about it) imagine if there was a recreation of the original Smash Flash with mostly everything kept intact except it’s just given a camera that fits two players (and whatever else is needed to make it as functional as needed to be without loosing the identity of the game). It honestly wouldn’t be worth the effort unless someone really wanted to do it and that’s why I’m not saying someone should do it, but if something like that ever was made it’d be a real trip.
was tryna make a smash bros clone engine in scratch a few months back, and i made it way more complicated than it was. you just had to calculate the difference and scale the size with the x and y positions accordingly
I remember back in the days Knockles Down B was so op that if you aim perfectly it does 280% dmg and there was not tier list back in the days so i thought Knuckles and Super Sonix where the most powerful characters
I only played it to try to unlock all characters, as a personal trophy. Kinda stressfull of how difficult to use are the controlls and how easy is to be launched. Still wanting SSF2 to have an Adventure Mode.

If so, then you guys have every right to gripe. If not, well... Also, were there any other non-emulator Super Smash Bros. fangames during that time period? Because it seems are complaining about SSF not being as solid as SSF when it seems like it's a product of it's time.
I kid you not 8 year old me was playing smash flash once and was messing around with bombs and I somehow got to 58,000% damage and my character somehow launched straight up and back down I've never been able to recreate it

The real problem was that up attack is literally the most broken move ever because characters just go flying

Playing as Sonic you could instantly defeat anyone if you dont move and press the attack key the enemy teleports out of the stage

A better option for this is by cutting the screen in half, having the left one focus on Player 1 and the right one focus on Player 2.
