- Unfortunately, I have to have surgery again. I have a huge ovarian cyst and it's time for it to go. I will share my experience with a horrible ob/gyn, the nightmare trip to the emergency room, and the symptoms I experienced. Hopefully this can help someone. Good luck Nik, thanks for sharing! Also, although it is the person's job to help people, I would personally pull that person aside or try to contact the person to let them know that they are exceptional regarding their care/compassion for people. There are so many medical workers/doctors who treat people like a number and do not provide the care patients deserve.

Hi Nik, I’m glad you got the thorough care that you needed and have the procedure scheduled. I really think you should pay a visit to that other Drs. office, or ask for the Dr. To call you so that you can let her know about the, now two times that you have experienced poor care and poor customer service from her staff. You can’t be the only one that this has happened to.
I’m sorry u had to experience that I had a very very similar experience with an ER in 2012 when I had extreme pain due to a fibroid. I thought it was just a south Florida thing . Being from Minnesota I don’t remember medical care even in an ER being so bad! I am praying your surgery goes well and u have a speedy recovery. My doctor describes 10 cm as the size of a baby's head. I had a 10cm fibroid and could literally feel it in my body thru my skin, depending on where it was positioned. I hope your surgery goes well. Here's to being healthy and pain free in 2024! 🥂

Women’s health is not always discussed in our community, nor do medical professionals that don’t particularly look like us take us seriously enough to give proper attention and treatment. Hope you have a speedy recovery! ❤ Would you mind sharing the doctor’s office that you go to? I’ve had issues with finding a provider that I like in the area for similar reasons that you’ve stated.

Thanks for telling your story. I had trouble getting my male primary doctor to listen to my symptoms. I had pressure on my bladder and an urgency to pee constantly, got a super unusual period that was ridiculously heavy and lasted 11 days, and then stopped getting my period all together and I could NOT get this doctor to listen to me. Turned out I had a massive cyst. What you said about going to a doctor that’s similar to you resonated with me, not just ethnicity but female doctors and OBGYN’s. Sorry to the male doctors, but they really really seem to brush a lot of woman’s symptoms (especially reproductive ones) under the table.
It's so frustrating when you're trying to advocate for yourself and you're not being heard. We've been living in this body our whole life so I think we would know best when something feels off. So sorry that was your experience (and sorry I'm so late replying). Thank you for sharing. I hope you're doing better now and you're getting the care you deserve!💕

Im so glad to hear this I did an UltraSound and looked on my report I found out I have Ovarian Cysts on both Ovaries 3cm and I scared and terrified,,
Most of the time they go away on their own, usually within a few cycles. But unless they're causing you pain or discomfort you should be fine.
