    Beautiful! I like your current aquascape the best.
    Looking at your keyholes, I see at least one female, but its hard to know for sure.

    Beautiful tank - may I ask what happened to the 6th one? I also noticed in this video that none of them has the lateral line - I had read that is a sign of submission. Do you notice any behaviours reflected in their spots and lines? Such interesting fish. The colouration on your fish is fantastic and your tank is so lovely. People say how shy keyholes are but yours are right up front. I am putting together a 50 gallon right now, if only I could have a tank as beautiful as yours! Thank you for sharing - I really think I would like to add these fish to my stock when I'm ready. Edited - sorry, just saw your October post. I am sorry for the losses. I really enjoyed the photos.

      +Cranium Rex Thanks a lot. As You can see in previous videos I lost my adult Keyhole cichlids and I dont kbow why. Therefore now I am using SZAT to keep NO3 on minimum but not so low due to plants.
      Regarding their spot and lines its depends on their feeligs. Keyhole cichlids are so temperamental and and every change of situation they show via spots and lines. Its realy glamorous to watch them during day. During the feeding time You can see which one is alfa and which one is omega and every day furing feeding I see they fight for position in group.
      If somebody tell You buy just pair dont do that. Keyhole cichlids are comunity fish and its nice to see them together.

    Hi can you tell what other fish (and how many) you have in the tank with the Keyholes.I can obviously see some cardinals and some Emperors but can't see how many or what else. I ask because I have a Fluval Roma 200 litre tank in which I have 5 baby Keyholes, 3 Honey Gourami, 11 Neons, 8 Rummynoses, 1 Bulldog plec, 1 Brochis Splendens and 1 Bronze Cory. I asked on a well known uk chat group what other fish I could add to occupy the upper levels of the tank and was told (quite rudely) that my tank is full and my Keyholes will pair up and be quite disruptive. Your adult keyholes look to be very well behaved. I should add your tank looks beautiful, mine is quite well planted but no where near as stunning as yours. I've looked at your other vids of this tank and I'm green with envy.

      +Wilfred Watson Thanks a lot. I have in tank 25 tetras (Paracheirodon axelrodi), 7 Emperor tetra => 2 male and 5 female, 2 Hyphessobrycon eques, 6 Corydoras melanotaenia, 2 Rineloricaria sp. (L010A), 2 Crossocheilus siamensis and 5 Keyhole cichlids. I can say that its maximum I can have on this size tank but I am using SZAT Clearwater Plants filter media to reduce NO3 so everything going well.
      Regarding fish in You tank I think there will be problem only with Bulldog plec. This fish is quite big and produce lot of excrements. With other fish there will be no problem but to keep low nitrates level do water changes on weekly bases (1/2) and I recommend You to use special filter media like SZAT or Purigen.
      Wish You only success with your tank and fish

      Thank you for that. When I bought the Bulldog plec I was told it would grow only to about 10cm. If it gets too big I will probably rehome it. I was using purigen but removed it from my filter as I've started putting blackwater extract in my tank and the purigen will remove it.

      +Wilfred Watson I understand. Thats the problem of purigen. Try to search SZAT Clear Water Plants. Its same like purigen but its suitable also for blackwater without any impact to water colour and so on

    Martin, how do you like your Siamese Algae Eaters? Do they get along with only two? I just purchased a pair and have read that they like a larger group.

    • @martinm535
      @martinm535  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chris X I like it. They always stay tohether. I have read it too but for one pair is minimum reguest 50gal so if you wants 6 and more You need 100gal and bigger tank. Mine are about 12cm long so they realy need space for live.

      @martinm535  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Red plans are Althernatera reineckii mini. In case this plant will have enough CO2, light and ferrum in substrate or water will be beautiful red and grow up to max 20cm
