Excellent instruction! I just recently stitched a small Mill Hill kit with beading. I had no idea there was so much to think about when it came to stitching larger pieces like Mirabilia’s. This is good information to know. You have done a wonderful job explaining what one needs to know.
Thank you for this video! I bought my first cross stitch project involving beads, not the same as jewelry beading, so I was thrilled to find you had this tutorial! It is excellent!
A big thank you for doing this informative and extensive video, I will be rewatching many times for sure when I get to the beading part of my first Mira
I’ve loved this series of tutorials that you’ve shared! So much great information and it has made me feel more confident going into the skin/beading sections of my first Miras.
Excellent tutorial! I wanted to put some beads on a Christmas stocking I am working on. I was afraid to (never worked with beads before), but now I think I shall be fine with the beading. :) Thank you so much for spending you valuable time to make the video! ❤
Oh how lovely! I would recommend attaching them with DMC. Christmas stockings are explained to so much excitement and I would fear a bead will catch and the invisible thread would stretch! Happy stitching :)
Thank you so much for this video! I'm starting back on a project I started about 25 yrs ago but stopped because I ran out of the color of bead. I'm going to take out the ones I have put in if I can't find the same color and after watching your video I'm so excited to get back to beading again. I am so glad your video came up in my feed as a suggestion. I will definitely be following you. Happy Stitching! ❤
Aw thank you so much and I’m super happy to hear this may help facilitate a 25+ year finish! Sometimes it feels sooooo good to pull out those old projects and finish them off :) happy stitching and BEADING!
Another great video. I've done some Mill Hill kits, but I still learned a bunch watching your tutorial. Especially with the orientation of the beads. So much to think about within the patterns. I love it.
I was Inspired by your video to count the hand dyed lugana to see if it had shrunk. Only by one thread. I then tried the mill hill beads size 11 on that linen and they fit, but we're oversized. I then tried delica beads size 11 and they fit perfectly! I am going to try and convert to delica beads. Thanks for your tutorial!
Thank you for sharing! Just started following you. I am just getting back into cross stitching and really love the Mirabilia patterns. I have quite a number of them that need to be stitched.
I think I am addicted to your tutorial videos! Thank you so much for them, I hope there will be many more! I started te "letter S" and it goes really nice! I love stitching all my projects but some of them, for an unknown reason to me, are more satisfying to stitch than others and "letter S" is one of them! Now I am looking forward to the beading part and to your new video! Thanks again 😃🧵🪡
Wonderful! Addicted to tutorials is a great thing as you will learn so much! Now, can I keep up with you? lol. Happy to hear you are really enjoying the S. some stitches just feel btr than others and I’m glad you found one that feels good to you :)
@@FibersandFlossCanada I have two questions! Actually one question and one suggestion. So, if you don't mind me asking, your name is Arica or Erica? I see it written here both ways and I can't really say for sure when I hear if from Samantha! I think that it's Arica but just to be sure 😊 Second, do you think a video/tutorial about fractional stitches on linen and/or on 1 over 1 for the skin (if there is a difference), could be an idea, when and if you'll feel like it? Thanks again 😊🧵🪡
@@stavroulak.503 thanks for asking, it’s Arica. I’m filming a 1x1 skin conversion tutorial today and will cover fractional stitches in a later video although I will be touching on them briefly today
Thank you so much! Agree with previous comment- I have stitched and beaded for years, but, learned some new tricks today. This one will definitely be saved. Thanks again
Thank you so much for such a comprehensive tutorial on beading a Mirabilia. This is SO helpful to me as I will be beginning my first Mira in a couple of days! I’ve watched all your tutorials and cannot express my gratitude for how helpful and informative they have been. I appreciate the amount of work and preparation it takes for you and all flosstubers to create these wonderful, helpful and entertaining videos for us all. Thank you again and hoping to see many more to come!

Wow!! That was the best information ever! Have 3 Mira’s in progress but haven’t finished yet! I’ve never done any beading! Learned a lot! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your kind comments and tuning in today. Good luck with the beading and if you have any questions or troubles just reach out to:) Happy beading!
Excellent tutorial! I have done a lot of beading over the years on Mill Hill kits, needlepoint canvases and cross stitch pieces. I learned several things from you. I had not thought to use several different slants or columns on one piece, depending on the design. Thank you so much!
Oh how fantastic! I love how we are all constantly learning. Even by sharing this video I’m sure I will learn some things that are new to me too! Thanks for tuning in today and happy stitching :)
Thank you so much for this video! I've been super intimidated by invisible floss but after seeing you use it in real time, I definitely want to give it a go on my next beaded project!

Thank you very much for a great episode with lots of good advice. I just find. I just found your floss tube and it has already become one of my favorites❤❤❤
You are most welcome! There are so many different ways to bead and so many options to think about! Good luck when the time comes and reach out if you need a hand with anything :) Thanks for tuning in today, I will be watching your most recent flosstube this afternoon :)
Great demonstration with so many different options to consider. You've answered some questions I've had as I've never beaded any of my projects before and currently am working on one that requires beads. Thankyou.
Tacky Bob's are too sticky for me. I use a bit of painters tape rolled and placed on a plastic Tupperware lid. Works like a champ and I don't throw beads when I try to take them off.
Thank you for that video. I was waiting for it.😊❤ You made it to seem so easy, so when I’m going to bead my Mirabilia I’m going to see it again and again. I’m thinking to start my Mirabilia trip from stitching the Starlet. It’s a big pattern but it requires only one package of beads and as I can see from the pictures of it the beads are at the bottom of her dress. So it seems less stressful for me but your advise to start from a Mill Hill kit is awesome 😊 Thank you for all the effort that you put in your videos.👏👏👏👏🌺💕
Hi Arica. Very comprehensive. Everyone does things that work for them. So it is good to see options. I did two L&L angels back in the day and Mira seasonal queens. I used 1 strand of floss in a similar colour to the bead, a John James beading needle and I attached the beads on a diagonal. Basically with a half stitch. But I went through the bead twice.
Thanks for tuning back in this morning. I think that’s key is realizing there isn’t a right way to do things, it’s learning a variety of options and figuring out what works for you. When I did my 2 L&L back in the late 90s I did them exactly the same as you! Happy stitching :)
Tacky Bill you can run water over it to clean it. I have to use one because my cats would cause me to lose my beads. Thank goodness the one time coco knocked my tray over. I had it on my tacky bead holder. I also have one called a tacky buddy that’s a needle minder out of plastic for beading. Also I use a Bohin 28 ct and I can do most of the beads in a pack of petite beads.
Oh really! I wonder if the Bohin needle eyes are a bit smaller then? Good to know you can easily rinse off the tacky bill! Thanks for tuning back in today :)
@@FibersandFlossCanada You’re welcome Arica! I do find it to be a bit slimmer. All I can say is try the 28 on petite beads and you should find the same. Excellent video too I learned about the tacky Mat when I was doing diamond painting and that’s where I learned how to take care of them.
Thanks for tuning in this am :) Yes all 02000s are all glass seed beads and only come in the one size 11/0. For this you can use a size 28 needle or a beading needle (which is much sharper).
