Thank you! I am stitching my first Mirabilia right now. The whole "beading thing" has been poking at me from the back of my mind each time I stitch on it. Now I feel much more confident about it. 😊

I guess I was on the right track years ago when I decided to add some white beads to my snowman cross stitch project to make it look like snow falling out of the sky even though the pattern did not call for them. Wasn't sure if I was doing it correctly but according to your tutorial I did. I used the x method so they would stand straight on the material. Beads really do add to the beauty of the design too. Thanks so much Helen. I definitely wouldn't be afraid to use them again. 🐱🐱

I used to make jewelry with seed beads, which the Mill Hill beads are, for reference their petite beads are a size 15 seed bead, the regular is a size 11 and the larger is size 8. The higher the number the smaller the size just like tapestry needles. And from what I saw the treasure bead is a bi cone and they may even by Swarovski a top of the line crystal glass bead. Thank you for your tips and tricks in beading your cross stitch.

I iron first, and do the slant like your 1st example with 2 strands 99% of the time. If I'm doing an animal's eye and the critters are facing each other I will change slant direction. Another way to keep my single larger bead secure is to do the 1st stitch with the bead, and the 2nd pass (2nd leg of the stitch) I split the thread & loop each strand around the bead & then down into the upper left. I have had to iron also after using a thick towel so I didn't ruin (melt) the beads. Thanks for the tutorial, let me know if you try to loop around the bead method, it's about time we gave you a tip to try 😄
