Death comes to us all. An unescapable truth illustrated beautifully by the ever present moon inching closer, and closer with each passing moment. Majora's Mask is a true work of art and a brilliant metaphor for death, grief and resolve.
I know this was intended to have "end of the world" vibes, but to me it was always more from an individualistic sense - like the sudden collapse of one's life/'wellbeing, whether it's a sudden life crippling financial crisis, a diagnosis of a terminal illness, or the loss of a loved one.. anything that just puts you into a state of mind where the walls are slowly starting to close together around your life.
What is true with the individual is also true with the world, and vice-versa. The world is just a macrocosm, a reflection of our own soul. They are one and the same. I think it is fair to ask ourselves what we would do if the world was going to end because it can end for each one of us any day. Damn this game is beautiful. I love listening to "Calling the four giants" every time I listen to this song though. It is a theme that is often overlooked in the game but, there is a theme of hope. The hope of having the giants of the past watching over us, as we move the world (and our lives) forward. Calamity can be seen as inevitable and too great for us to do anything about it, but hope and salvation is also greater than us.
Majora is in pain, the people are lost, even the moon looks like it is sad, (evidence being it's face and the moon tear). You feel a responsibility on your shoulders. Do nothing and the moon will be on your shoulders instead.
This was such a cool video to stumble upon! Btw, I would seriously buy that LED display (whatever it is in its entirety) and hang it up on my wall. I've been looking for stuff to cover my empty space!
The first (and still only) time in a nintendo game where I have truly felt a certain feeling. A feeling that can only be described in two words: YOU FAILED.
This is good! I haven't really liked any remix of this song because they all change the vibe and omit the bells, those being THE reasons I like this song. Thank you for making it so I don't have to listen to the crusty N64 original when I want to be reminded how much I love this game.
Ok the shadows across the Majoras Mask in the thumbnail makes it look kinda cute. It covers part of the eyes, so they're not constantly staring into your soul anymore
Once again my recommendation didn't disappoint, this is awesome I love how it gets more intricate and colorful. You should have more views and likes on this.
This song still makes my heart beat fsster and faster majoras mask is the best zelda game ever made the story the darkness and the sadness evrything was great about that game
Aw man, this is so good, all it's missing though is a jumpscare where the mask is breaking free from the wall for the bossfight with the theme changing as a bit of a spoiler for first phase of majora's fight
Self written software in javascript/html/css/electron. I'll make a video about it in the future. :) The LEDs are called WS2812B and the Controller is an ESP8266 (software here in c). The mask and the stuff around are 3d-printed.
i like the mild distortion of the bell at the start but the increasing dissonance does not sound good... i think it would sound better if only went more distant/dampened instead of dissonant. otherwise a nice mix though. and the LEDs are pretty, well done there!
As of this very moment I'm sending this comment, I'm having a job interview in a couple of minutes. My regular anxiety mixed with the time remaining for the inteerview to start plus this tune feels like my heart and guts are fighting to break my rib cage open and force their way through out of my body. I'm just hoping by the time my interview starts I'd feel less anxious compared to how I'm feeling right now. btw: the visual representation of the sounds is impressive. The spinning wheel and LEDs feel practical. Is this somehow animated?
I hope you got the job! :) Materials are 3d-Printed section glued together, a motor, a controller and a bunch of addressable LEDs. Additional i wrote a program to control everything in JavaScript/HTML/CSS with a timeline like Adobe Premier. I'll make a video about in in the future.

Time can be rewritten.
But even time dissolves.

this as a desktop wallpaper would be awesome ngl
This is practical effects right ?
Incredible, you could put this in a Majora's Mask animated movie and it wouldn't feel out of place
The Happy Masks Salesman chuckling at the end would have been the perfect cherry on top! Regardless really great to watch this, awesome job!

It may be crusty, but it still shares a place in many hearts.
Swamp. Mountain. Ocean. Canyon.
