When I was a little child, I finally got this game for Christmas. I was really excited to play it, not knowning what would happen. I started to play the game and once the final day's timer had appeared and I had started to get frantic, not knowing where to go and what to do. I started to talk to the townsfolk, and each time I did, they would talk about how terrifying the moon is and how they are going to meet an untimely death. After about 5 minutes, the moon fell. During it falling I set my N64 controller down and started to cry, not because I lost or anything, its because of how dreadful and how much the weight of guilt had weighed and knowing that I've killed hundreds of people, just because i wasnt fast enough. After I saw Link being engulfed by flames, I heard the happy mask salesman laugh, and greet me with the line of, "You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" and the screen faded in where deku link was talking to the salesman, then i figured out that time had somehow been reverted to day 1. After I had gone outside I went to the pond with the fairy and headed off to the great fairy once again, with a new bound determination to save this world. (Majoras mask is one of my favorite games, if not my no. 1 and i wouldnt change it for the better. It will always hold a special place in my heart)
I never played Majora's Mask... but I _did_ listen to the original of this song, and you kept "the world is ending" vibe of it throughout the entire remix. This is very well done!
You have no idea of the tension you get when you see the meter go down so quickly and see the moon approach, go back in time just to experience it again
@Parzival8910 The theme is called 'Final Hours' and few days ago it was the final hours of the year 2018. Also, the 'several billion years too early' bit is referencing when our Sun is estimated to start expanding and render the Earth inhospitable for life.
I just beat with 100% the game today, after 3 weeks of nearly daily playing. At first I tried to avoid as much as possible the third day and especially the 12 last hours. And then came the Anju and Kafei quest, it was the first time I got this far in the 3 days and seeing Clock Town desert was something with the music and the color of the sky. It reminded me how important is to get out my comfort zone. I listend to every cover you make of this game and I think these captures the best the atmosphere of the original, especially this one. I'd like to thank you for accompanying me throughout my adventure 5 years later.
Awesome mix! Oh how the nostalgia comes rushing in 😎 Might I suggest the Ancient Castle of Ikana theme? The original was already epic, I imagine you would work wonders with that song! Love all of your Zelda tracks, keep up the awesome work! 👍🏼
Although I am 13 I have fond memories of this game and will always love this game for what it's worth... The fact that you only have three days to save everyone or watch as everything get's destroyed makes it intense
I remember fist time playing, I did not figure out what I needed to do in time and the final hour struck ... one of those gaming moments I don't think I will ever forget
@@arnaud7008 I agree. Solving puzzles is difficult. I couldn't even get passed the Zora Temple one! After watching, I finally decided to try again. It was two weeks ago. Nail it!
This game truly is the epitome of “world” when it comes to video games. For the most part, it’s just downright depressing but in it are small bursts of life where characters are shown to have real feelings and emotions. I’ll never forget the feeling of guilt when I first played this and I let the moon fall, the feeling of knowing that I just caused the deaths of hundreds, thousands, maybe even millions of people because I wasn’t quick enough. I think even the commercials for the game captured that feeling. I’ll link them at the bottom of this comment but they’re just so genuinely depressing. Each commercial is set up like a radio broadcast on “Radio Zelda” and the announcer keeps addressing this single kid who’s the key to saving the world by beating the game. But they play footage of the game spliced in with footage of people just being super sad. There’s this one shot of this couple holding each other on a bridge and looking off into the sunset that just kinda gets me. And the last commercial ends with the announcer talking to the kid one last time during the final minutes before the end and he says “Hey kid... we’re all pooling for ya. So if you’re listening... hang in there. I know you’ve got the weight of the world on your shoulders. Don’t forget. It’s all about the weight of the moon. This has been our broadcast of Radio Zelda. Goodnight, kid.” It’s kinda cheesy when you actually hear it, but damn it just hits the nail on the head with the visuals and stuff. th-cam.com/video/f5Mf2mp6fms/w-d-xo.html
This brings me memories of me trying to beat the 4th temple having this music, and it was like "ur gonna die in 3 minutes muahahahah" I love the remix btw
Hi, Vetrom. I really liked your "souls" and "your trait" albums, and I would love to see some more of that. I have a proposal: Twisted souls. It would be like normal souls, but with a dark, twisted side, showing what they can turn into, when they are corrupted. I feel though you need a break from the whole souls theme, and using the "your best friend" leitmotif so many times could be boring, I imagine. So I wouldn´t mind if you take your time. Of course, if you are already eager to do it, then be my guest. I really look forward to your work. Good luck.
I so wanna mix this with ffxv music. Neverending nightmare. Song of the stars. Somnus. And light of the Crystal. I think it would match so good since all of the songs I listed including this one are near the final hours and the songs are play when something big happens
To think you avoided the future ruination of your kingdom.. only to let a whole world down now when they had no one else to turn to. To think you, over the course of seven grueling years, destroyed the Demon King reincarnate as a king crowned through war... only to fall prey in three days to a wandering woodsboy, his old playmates, a angry-faced rock in the sky, and a piece of _hand-carved wood._ To think you saved the ones you loved, and even made those three days for complete strangers in their eleventh hour... only to fail to save yourself, let alone find your best friends in some Woods or whatnot again. To think of your heroism, and what you've become through your unhealable grief... You've met with a _terrible_ fate, haven't you?
once again this is repeated, the end is near, we must prepare to play the song of time and prevent the moon from falling, guaranteeing another new year for this planet. Happy New Year

It was good without it, but you think you can make a version with the quakes, bells, and crash at the end? In any case, I feel regardless it will add to it. Also.. why isn't this on Spotify (if I may ask)? Must have >.
I never thought I'd see a good remix of this song without the bells.
The bells make the theme complete though.

This is a beautiful comment.
The fact that a game can have so much impact for someone is proof enough that games are a true art form
beautiful thank you for sharing that
I felt the emotion in this comment. This is why I love looking at TH-cam comments.
This must have been a terrifying and memorable moment for you

Would have been perfect to listen to on New Years, but I probably would have gotten unreasonably scared.
Looking back now, it would've been really fitting too lol
Oh, I listen to this *every* December.
4 days too late on releasing this. :P

Wow, great job, it really captures the theme well.
Awesome. I've watched a play through on Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask already. It was fun!
I've played the game, and I really struggled at puzzle solving (I was kinda blind and stupid)

Despair, Hate, and Fear souls are basically corrupted Perserverance, Kindness, and Bravery souls. Interesting concept for the others, though.
This remix is BADAZZ
