A suggestion if I may.....check the brake fluid only by visual and do not take off the cap unless to add. Brake fluid can get contaminated with water/dirt if the cap is removed as it absorbs water from even the air if exposed for any length of time. Water is harmful to brake fluid. If the fluid is low then check for a leak or the brake pads may be getting worn. The transmission fluid can be checked by lifting the vehicle, access the top fill hole and over fill hole on the front side (need to remove the air intake pipe to do so and loosen or remove the under vehicle plastic shield for access). The two holes require a 3/8ths drive to remove. The procedure is to fill the top hole until the fluid runs out the side....then it's full. Hyundai also is vague about when to change the fluid. I changed mine at 50k miles and suggest others to do like wise.
Thank you so much! I was trying to figure out how to check the level of my transmission fluid. I liked the way you answered it - the design of the car is not user friendly. Next time I get a car I will make sure it's user friendly. I'm going to write you a song. I'll keep you posted.
4:27 A 'leak' possibly, but not likely. I've been a mechanic for many years and have rarely seen brake fluid leaks. There are two reasons why the brake fluid level will drop... a leak, or (and the main reason) the brake pads are worn... as the pads wear, the caliper piston moves outward to compensate fo the worn brake pad... as a result, the fluid level will drop in the reservoir. When the pads are replaced, the piston(s) is/are pushed back into the caliper causing the brake fluid to go back to the full mark on the resevoir. So if your brake fluid level is down considerably, then more than likely it's a sign that you need new brake pads...
Have a 2013 3.3l Santa Fe . What size hex do I need to open the fill/level bolt (the plastic one) 10 mm or 3/8. Is it same size for oil fill plug of gear n transaxle Thanks
namely 2017 hyundai santa fe sport, I'm at 96,000 miles and never been checked since I've had it for a year now, everywhere I call (Pep boys, Firestone auto, and few others) and they all say they can't look or check it so where would you recommend to go and get it checked and serviced if you can think of a branch of auto repair/services that can and will do this cause I've called all over and no one can tell me they can look at it without a dipstick, I'd very much appreciate it if you give any suggestions

1:13 Actually the oil looks fairly good... have seen much worse... It's way over filled also. The oil level should not go past the top notch...
Good info
Helped my day. Thanks man! 👍👍👍😀
Need to know about checking the transmission.
Thank you so much. I looked everything for the transmission fluid check. I bought the car used so I don’t have the manual :(
The manual is available online though?
I downloaded my manual from the web as a pdf. It’s on my phone also.
How can I check gear fluid
Thanks man!!!
I guess I should have checked here on the location of the trans fluid dipstick instead of looking around under the hood for 5 minutes :)
Thank you.
How do you check the tranny fluid ? Where's the dipstick ?
I liked all your santa fe videos thanks allot
