Irish musician Enya (born Eithne Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáin) speaks to Val Doonican about her childhood at her hometown of Gweedore (also known in Gaelic as Gaoth Dobhair).

Without knowing the history of ten generations ago ... people in famine, nearly naked, came to Gweedore to harvest shellfish and seaweed ... just to keep alive ... both they and their animals lived by God's merciful bounties while governments failed ... whether from corruption or not, people perished across all ages of families and neighbors ... it is a sacred place to meditate and pray for songs and strength to sing in much destitution to keep their spirits shining ... while living with farm animals to share warmth ...

Yeah. I was only saying it because the real name of the town is ghaoth dobhair but they use the English name instead
