I am a cockney with Irish parents, went to a catholic school, worked 30 years on the railway, spent all my childhood visiting Ireland 🇮🇪 , one day I said to myself bollocks to all this shite , sold up and moved to Donegal - a tiny village and everyone says hello has a chat you wave to people driving by - but I wish I had learned the true language of my family- hearing this it’s just beautiful and even though I don’t understand the language it just hits me in the heart ❤️

Exceptional from start to finish. The Donegal harmonies are incredible... and that closing guitar chord at the end is out of this world.

This is one of the few bands that carries me away. They always conjure up waves crashing upon a rocky coast in a steady fresh gale. I sit upstairs navigating guitar as the cool sun beats bright into the room, warming my shirt so I can smell the weave. Inevitably, rain beats against the window.

I went to a Clannad concert in Wythenshawe, Manchester a few months before this recording was made. I have been to many concerts in my life (I am now aged 72) and this concert was one of the top three. The other two were Bob Dylan in Dublin with Elvis Costelloe as the "support" act "( ?) about 1997 and with Carole King and Van Morrison joining in the fun at the end of the show. The other was the Kinks in the Stadium in Dublin, a rough venue but Ray Davies and the boys were magical. Smoking was banned but the smell of ganja only added to the atmosphere! I an still hear their "encore" tunes - "you really got me", and, especially, "Days". I was lucky enough to go to real concerts before the arrival of the poxy "boy bands"!

I remember, back in 1971, walking into the Denmark Cafe in Jerusalem. Bob Dylan was playing, just for fun. I lived in Dublin most of the seventies, an amazing time for Irish music. I got to see them all. In the seventies there was fantastic music.

Clannad is one of my NUMBER ONE FAVORITES, they are SOOOOOO GOOD! I LOVE them all so much, I would do ANYTHING just to MEET them all...My favorite CD is called " In a LIfetime" I've listened to it for 6 years straight....When my husband and I were very "Poor" for a while, we came into a little extra money, he asked me what I wanted, and I said CLANNAD CD "In a Lifetime"..so he bought me ONE CD, all we could afford, I kept that one CD I owned for 6 or 7 years, and I still have it, and it's 2019 !!!! I will frame it as it is getting old and worn out... but.I recently got a NEW Clannad CD, I listen to all the time...thank you Clannad for all the beautiful music you brought into this world....LOVE to you all, Loretta Wilson....The newest Clannad CD is called ""Clannad ANAM""...and it has all my favorite songs on it...I LOVE it !!!!!

I'll beg to differ. I was spiritually in love with those early albums and missed the tight gtr and mandolin work as they started to experiment and explore, notably with keyboards. Some of that was a bit disposable but when they hit, they really HIT! The 2011 concert in the Dublin Church shows they lost none of their ability to play the original folk music. Pol just seems to have gotten better and better.
