      chris capune Cheers Chris, it’s amazing the things they can make from those 3D printers now. This is still a really tricky tool to put together. But it will make it easier to pick locks that need tensioning from the bottom of the lock.

    Those silver bullets are still really nice picks. The aluminum one is also really nice, but really expensive at around $350 USD. Wonderful picking Daz!

    @roysammons2445 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Yes it's much cheaper than the original silver bullet but it does seem very expensive for plastic.
    Q: Why is the tensioning tip so chucky on the DD picks that tension at the back of the lock?
    Great video by the way, you picked the Abus with ease.

    • @dazevers
      @dazevers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Roy Sammons It’s to expensive especially as the 3D printed parts aren’t very well finished. So basically it’s costing $100 for the tip & tensioner. They are very good. The rear tensioner need to sit in the bottom of the lock & pick up the last disc. They actually make two other ones as well. Both bigger than this one.

    • @dazevers
      @dazevers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ouch! That price tag for something that looked that rough, I wouldn't have been an happy bunny too!
    Self assembly is not a good thing especially if it involves heating up metal to fit in plastic parts. If they're confident in their product then it should come as assembled. Just my thoughts.
    Great review Daz ;-)

    • @roysammons2445
      @roysammons2445 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree. Considering how much self assembly has to be done and a process of having to heat up a part Hmmmm way over priced.

      Plug4uk I do agree, plus I had to pay the import tax £21 that hurt.... if it wasn’t for the tip being as good as it is, it would definitely have gone back. Its a pretty difficult tool to build as well.😩

    Great video mate and picking. I wouldn’t pay 100 for that pick. Why does it not come ready built! I like the idea with it but you shouldn’t have to be heating up plastic if the screw doesn’t go in right. Any picking tool should just click in to place that’s why you pay good money for a nice tool. Did you pay for that or did they send you one. Thanks for the video my friend 👍🏻

      Chris Evans Lock Picking Hi Chris, $100 is a lot of money, & it is very fiddly to build, I just liked the idea of it, as a Locksport toy, in the real world this wouldn’t last the day. They don’t come pre make because they are so fiddly to build, they would probably only get one built at day.😂😂😂

    Great review Daz, especially your tips at the end for real-world working with it, adjusting it, etc. You didn’t put a link in the description and to took me a bit of work to figure out, for a while I thought you said lockform, then locktool, finally I figured out (duh) that you were saying lockfall.com (Hux’s site). Glad to know the 3D version is an official knock-off rather than someone ripping him off 😁 But after your review it sounds like maybe it’s better to save that money toward the metal one. Chirael Hi mate. This tool definitely take some time to assemble. But if you put the time into it, the tool works pretty well. Of course if you’ve got the money to spend on the metal Version it will be a lot better, & easier to use. So, I buggered up my assembly.
    I cant get the two plastic bits straight, there is friction and rubbing and it is a disaster.

    That is all me, though, not a problem with the tool !!

    • @dazevers
      @dazevers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TonyS Locks Hi Tony, it really isn’t an easy tool to put together, but if you have the brass inserts in the right place & square you should be fine. I found the all the excess plastic needs to be removed or it just won’t work. It must have taken me a good few hours. Flattening the tensioner rod really helped & also waxing the two parts after sanding them smooth.
      But $100 plus postage then hours of work to get it working 🙁
      I hope you get your working ok.
