    *APPROX FINISHED LENGTH* For those wondering the final measurement of the plant hanger, mine usually measure around 84cm without a plant pot in it! 😋 With a plant in the hanger it will measure shorter than that 😊 hope that helps! 🪴the plant pot in the video measures about 18cm high x 15cm wide!

    Thank you for this tutorial. So far I have made 2 hangers with it, the first one using 6mm cord but unfortunately the 2.8 metre lengths weren't long enough so I had to tie on extra pieces to make the tassel at the bottom. For the second hanger I used the same yarn as you and cut each piece 3 metres long, however I had the same problem! Not sure what I'm doing wrong but will use even longer yarn next time (maybe my knots were too loose!)

    • @lunacraftsonline
      @lunacraftsonline  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You’re welcome 🥰 that’s strange, I’ve had a few people mention that the measurements didn’t workout for them but they work out for me every time, so strange! But I do think it depends on how tight you tie the knots etc too 🥰

    you first one! Amazing. I'm just now trying my first on. I find that It is difficult to keep my knots even. Consequently my 16 twisting knots on one strand are not the same length as the others. Any tips?

    • @lunacraftsonline
      @lunacraftsonline  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yay I’m glad you’re trying it! Practice is key for knot tension but you can twist the twisting knots around even more and that should help shorten them to make them look the same length as the others ☺️

    This is what my mother in law has asked me to create but she would like it a meter long and to hold a pot probably double the size of your one, how would I go about working out measurements? It became a hobby during lockdown and have all of a sudden found my love for creating again. Your video was brilliant and going to start watching all of your videos.

    • @lunacraftsonline
      @lunacraftsonline  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yay, glad you found your love for creating again! 🥰 Unfortunately there isn’t really an easy way of figuring out the measurements, I’d maybe add on another 80-100cm to the 6 cords that make the plant hanger and hopefully that will be enough to make the finished product longer. It might be too much extra cord but you’d rather have extra than not enough 👍🏻
      As for putting in a larger pot, once you get to the square knots that form the bottom of the plant hanger, leave a couple more cm’s in between the rows and that will allow it to hold a bigger pot ☺️

    I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I had to make the patterns smaller and the hanger shorter because I didn't have enough yarn. I'm going to make another one but I will add a meter or two because the measurements on the video didn't allow me to have a tassel either.

    hello! This project is so pretty!! the video is easy to follow and I’m able to understand how the knots work even though this is my first ever attempt at macrame ! Although I think I may have screwed up the measurements… I have one 100cm cord for the loop at the beginning, but when I try to fold it over it can barely touch end to end! In the video the loop looks double the size of mine, was I supposed to double all of the measurements indicated before the instructions? I’m using 4mm cord (its all the nearest craft store carried) and I have six 280cm cords, two 50cm cords and the one 100cm cord I mentioned above. I hope maybe it’s just the one cord I need to cut longer, but I would appreciate any help! Sorry if that was a little hard to understand haha, I’ll still give it my best shot! :D

    • @lunacraftsonline
      @lunacraftsonline  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, thanks for your support! 😊 the measurements you have are correct, you the 100cm cord to create square knots that form the loop. I’m not 100% sure what you been when you mentioned it didn’t touch end to end but if you mean it didn’t reach the end of the 280cm cords then that’s fine it’s not meant to reach those 😊 just need to fold the 100cm cord in half and use the halfway point of that cord to begin creating the square knots around your 280cm cords if that makes sense? Really hope that somehow helps! 😋

    • @xhuu4178
      @xhuu4178 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      update: I just doubled the entire instruction and it worked perfectly :) I think it was because of the thickness of my cord and my knots were too loose so it used up the cord quickly, but i’ve got the hang of it now and it’s beautiful! thanks!!

      @lunacraftsonline  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no, sorry the cords were too short for you! You can undo all the knots and make a different plant hanger from these cords and then cut new cords that are longer to complete this one if you fancied it! 😊🌿

      @@lunacraftsonline well I learned to def give myself more and measure twice, cut once lol. I did something that probably isn’t an ideal solution but I really wanted to finish strong 😅 so where the bottom knot is on the spiral knots, I tied/added the length I needed to at least finish to the 4 very short pieces and hid them within the big knot! I figured the plant will probably be safe enough bc the rest of the cords are good length 😂

    • @lunacraftsonline
      @lunacraftsonline  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry for the late reply, I’ve been sick in bed all week with Covid 🤒 I’ve just measured one of mine and it’s about 58cm to the bottom of the plant pot. But it all depends on what size pot you use, a wider pot with shorten the overall length and a small/skinnier pot will use up less length if that makes sense 😌

  • @hollyrandolph7926

    • @lunacraftsonline
      @lunacraftsonline  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just measured mine and it’s about 72cm with the pot inside but it will differ slightly depending on how you long you cut the bottom tassels and how big/heavy your plant is ☺️🌿

  • @rayndirectioner
    @rayndirectioner 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are your measurements one half of the cord? Should I be making the 280 cm double that for one cord? I’m just a little confused bc yours comes out way longer than the one I made following this tutorial.

    • @lunacraftsonline
      @lunacraftsonline  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      280cm is the full length of the cord :) but feel free to add on as much as you want to that length because the final length varies depending on how tight you tie the knots etc so maybe add on 40-50cm or so to give you the added length that you want 😌 my measurements are just the ones that I find work the best for me and my knot tightness and can always be adjusted to your preference ☺️

    What changes should I make if my pot is larger?

    • @lunacraftsonline
      @lunacraftsonline  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would add more length onto each of the cords and then once you get to the square knots at the bottom of the plant hanger leave a bigger gap in between the rows which will make it hold a bigger pot ☺️👍🏻

    • @lunacraftsonline

      Unfortunately there is no real way to figure this out 🙁 it would just be a bit of a guessing game as to have much shorter you make the cords and how close you make each of the separate knot designs 🙁 sorry I can’t help more but it’s just trial and error ☺️
