      @@hellocatwalkcity i just found a defect on my bag last night. I only took a closer look last night. And i found a thread hanging out on the side of my bag red and black thread. And there’s one white small thread on the front. And i noticed i had the air pocket too that u had on one of your videos. The SA told me the airpoacket is normal . The threads are normal “ It’s made inside out and flipped “ this is what she said. But she said she’ll send me label to ship the bag back and they’ll fix it. Should i just ask for exchange?i dont know how long its gonna take to get my bag back 😞

    Just discovered your channel and been following your Chanel classic saga. I’m a MIF fanatic as well and have the Classic lambskin jumbo MIF which is a few years old . It seems a lot of the newer ones are made in Italy . Hope you track down your desired piece soon. Looking forward to your upcoming unboxings . 👜👜

    I actually purchased my classic jumbo flap from the flagship store in France and the bag has made in Italy. I think the newer bags have made in Italy.

    I bought a medium made in France and, I noticed a defect on the bag a couple days after unboxing it. The cc lock had defects where the golden hardware looked like it had a silvery colour shining through. It was seen under the bright light. I took it back and they had a jumbo with silver hardware, made in Italy, so I exchanged it for that. After having the Jumbo and using it a few times, I noticed the chain ring was loose, and I just decided to keep it. I couldn’t be bothered going through a load of hassle. I plan on getting it repaired. I am a strong believer that the quality has gone way down and my vintage Chanel pieces that are 20-30 years old are much better quality and still look better than my newer pieces. I say vintage rocks, or buy pre-loved because the prices now do not reflect what you get. Sorry you experienced this with your new bag that you were excited to have. I hope you can have a better experience in Paris or buy pre- loved. 💜

      Mi Ears Thanks for sharing dear. I’ve heard this from many people - that vintage is the way to go, or preloved. It’s a shame the quality is so inconsistent. 😔 I did get my hands on another new one made in France and will do an unboxing video in just a few days. It looked perfect in the store so I’m hoping it looks perfect for real. After this, I may go vintage or preloved from now on!!!!

    That sucks. She should just tell you to keep the bag. As soon as she got a new one in, she would call you to come exchange it. In my experience I bought a WOC and the stitches were not straight. I brought it back to the boutique. My SA told me just kept it and used it untill she called me. I was afraid it would be more than 30 days and I wouldn't be able to exchange it. She said no problem because she wrote it down. Then 30 days later I got a phone call from her. I went back to the boutique and got a new WOC.

      Ratiya Lalala Wow! Such a different level of experience you received from your SA compared to mine. The more I think about it and the more I read comments from so many ppl here, I realize my SA really should’ve handled the situation differently. It’s a shame. I’m glad you got your WOC exchanged so nicely!! Enjoy!! 💕 I will have to wait for something better to come along in the future...

      Yeah, I was wondering about that... 'cause when I make a return to Chanel I always give back everything box, storage cloth, ribbons, camellia flower, bag and all the tissues. I didn't realize you could keep it the box.

    NEW subbie here...Sorry to hear how poorly your SA handled this situation
    While we are on the subject of poor quality, need to know what should I do
    I purchased an o-coin purse -28 series
    and IMO both ends look like it was stitched too tightly: creating what looks like a defect..I only have 4 more days left to return it. .I did mentioned it to my SA and follow up with pics... The SA was understanding,.& stated to
    return it, but, in the same breath stated,
    "It's how they are all made and hand reversed. None is identical to the other." huh. I would've love to send u photos:, but dont know how--- Again, love ur chanel & looking forward to the next one

      elva Valentin Hi new subbie! I believe you should be 100% pleased with the item you purchase and it sounds like you are not feeling great about the stitching on the coin purse. I recommend you bring it to the store and ask to see a new one to compare with your own 👀. Good luck!🍀

      elva Valentin Oh no!! If you love it that much, maybe you can keep it and enjoy it, and if there is a problem down the road, bring it back for repair? Just save your receipt just in case. Good luck!!

    I'm so glad that you got your money back. I think that TH-cam has made me a more discerning (and sometimes hypercritical) luxury customer so my bags may've had small "defects" that I just didn't know to look for years ago. After your 1st video, I looked over all my classic flaps and could not find one that has a loose/mis-stitch like this and my bags are almost a decade old. Over time the stitches on the edges do get a tiny bit "fuzzy" if you use your bags a lot but nothing like this. I bought all my classic flaps from SAKS almost 9 years ago because it was possible back then to get significant discounts through dept stores. Since the Chanel in SAKS is now just a leased property, the downside is that discounts are no longer available. However, it also means that its just a regular Chanel boutique and their stock is part of the wider Chanel database that all SAs can access. So your SA could have easily at least offered to call over to SAKS, ask for a perfect and (if possible) made in France bag and have it couriered to 57 street in less than an hour. You may have still chosen not to wait but the offer should have been made especially since you were sold a defective bag!!! I find the service on 57th super hit or miss. I usually only go there to browse or for repairs. The only thing that I've ever bought from there is 1 brooch years ago. I've had the full champagne treatment while just browsing but I've also been completely ignored and/or given the side eye if I dare to bring my daughter with me. The reality is that tourists will buy all their stock (esp classics) so they really don't have to try very hard.

      So Coco Hmm, I do think you make a great point about the 57th st Chanel store catering to tourists. I bought a cardholder from the Saks Chanel almost 20 yrs ago and it’s still in great condition. I wonder if the quality has declined overall or if there truly is a different between made in France vs made in Italy. I just don’t know 🤷‍♀️. But I’m glad I detected the issue on my classic flap and returned it quickly. I’m at peace. You are wise to check all your bags over with a hypercritical eye. And I’m glad all your older Chanel bags are still flawless. Enjoy! Thanks so much! 😘

      I was just in the Chanel boutique a few weeks ago. I was ignored, until I specifically asked someone to locate a bag for me. A bag that was not on the floor, but in the back that they were unaware that they had. It was such an uncomfortable experience, we left and went elsewhere to make our purchases.

She may have 25 years experience but she did not handle it like someone who does!😠 That said I can’t help but think you were meant to get the made in France from Rue Cambon!!!     The minimum would be Chanel ordering the bag for you from other location once there was stock in other store, specially because there was a price increase. The quality issue and the price increase are both not your responsibility. It was enough loss already the 2 trips to the store...

    Sorry to hear that! The SA makes a huge difference. I have an awesome SA here that can take care of you and double checks all my stitchings, leather , and symmetry for me before sending me my bags and assures me she will send return labels if i am not happy. I also demand made in France and she understands me. Let me know if you want to try her. I had the popped stitch on my classic flap, sold to me by another sa and she helped me get my return and got me another.

    The SA was just telling you that you have options if u want to get the same bag. I don’t think she meant any harm.At least she gave you the refund. Just get the bag when you’re ready.

      km_au I agree, I think she meant well. However reading some of the comments here, I realize another SA may have gone out of there way to secure another bag for me and perhaps handle the situation a bit differently, but it’s ok. I will be patient until my next opportunity! 😊
