    🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
    I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

    Fantastic! As I learn more about ying yang balance and essence the more I realize that my personality and mannerisms have been greatly impacted by my ballet and opera training and as a result, I've chosen demure, reserved, classic styles that reflected the areas and communities I lived in and participated in. The older I've gotten, the more free I've become with myself and I no longer restrict what I want to wear based on what others have told me or the style that I feel should mirror my lifestyle. So so fascinating! Thank you for another wonderful video xx

    I watch a lot of ballet and something I’ve noticed is that the overall “essence” of a company often corresponds to the physicality of its dancers. Bolshoi Ballet has a very dramatic style and tends to favor tall, angular ballerinas. East Asian companies generally have a softer, more ethereal style and all the prima ballerinas are Romantics (or Gamines). In the Americas, the vibe is more natural and Naturals are favored. Just an observation.

    I believe that essence does not equal personality. I have explored Kibbe because I wanted to define my personal style and always make an impression anytime I’m in the room. I’m a dramatic classic, and I love that I can play on the sort of dryness and moderation in my body to look very put together all the time. And this type is considered to be more demure in essence. I love that I can embody that essence and then at the same time still be myself. Still joke around, be a pleasant, flirtatious, silly person when I feel like it. Because my style essence is not my personality and who I am as a person will always be greater than the clothing and styles that I wear. A romantic who wears frills and sheer dresses can still have a serious intellectual conversation; a dramatic wearing her sharpened elongated lines can still be sexy and fun. Women contain multitudes!

    I'm a firm believer on this: Your physical features do not necessarily have any bearing on your personality. Others may perceive or pre-judge you as having a certain personality based on your physical body, but that does not mean you are that thing. A tall woman is not necessarily 'strong.' A short woman is not necessarily 'fragile.' Conventionally attractive people are not necessarily 'good'. These are common stereotypes. So, I am VERY skeptical of this aspect of Kibbe's system. Matching your clothing the lines of your body in order to look harmonized is one thing - photos of people wearing their lines immediately won me over to that aspect. However, assuming all gamines are 'fun' or all classics are 'elegant' is simply inaccurate.

    • @sandrathair7470
      @sandrathair7470 3 ปีที่แล้ว +55

      I believe it’s what your physical appearance conveys to others (like a first impression by just looking at you without talking to you), however yes you can definitely have a different personality from what only your lines and face tell others.

    • @burpie3258
      @burpie3258 3 ปีที่แล้ว +56

      Consider this: people will treat you a certain way based on their preconceived notions regarding your appearance, so that will affect your personality. If people are always treating you like you're strong, you'd begin to feel as though you're strong, right? This is exactly why it's advised that children with ears that stick out should get them surgically 'fixed', because data (at least before) showed that those children are more likely to have lower self esteem, psychological issues, even lower IQ. This is because of how protruding ears were presented at the time (late 1800s up until idk when). It's not cuz protruding ears changes your brain to make you behave a certain way; people's behaviour towards you changes your own behaviour. BUT stigma against protruding ears doesn't seem to happen anymore, and I just read an article that claims protruding ears are now considered cute on kids!

      But how others perceive you still affects you. You don't exist isolated from your environment, environment affects you.
      As someone who has changed a lot physically over the years, I know how much looks can make people treat you completely differently.
      Personality is not the same as essence, but they are not unrelated.

    • @Amanda-ke8gt
      @Amanda-ke8gt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@burpie3258 that's true, but I just find it very sad that people would treat someone differently just based on their looks...That preconceived notions actually hold so much weight in social interactions, almost as if you have to accept it. Personally, I would recommend fighting and going against people's assumptions if someone feels they are different from how they actually look.

      @@Amanda-ke8gt I agree! I was just stating what I see happens, but yeah I really hate it and wish people would be more aware of their biases regarding appearance! Many people don't even realize they treat pretty people differently compared to 'ugly' people, for example...

    The essence aspect is the only thing I disagree hard with kibbe or at least the way he is overdoing it. Yes the way how a body is built transports a certain essence but your personality can still be very different and the charisma because of that can corrupt the essence of the body. And what he interprets in personality only because of your ID type like seeming artistic, creative or whatever is really out of proportion. The video itself and how the topic is adressed and presented is of course well made as always :)

    I’ve never liked the advice of “finding yourself” like what does that even mean. Like you said you’re already here right now. I think you have to create the person you want to be not just sit and wait (tried that nothing happened 😂) I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with “borrowing” parts of other ppl and trying them on for size. After all, no one is truly unique we all have our influences. It’s about refining those influences so it’s in line with our values that’ll change over time. If we are a painting then i guess it’s about taking the canvas that has been painted on by our external factors e.g. Society, family friends and trying to mix some new colours new shapes that we can borrow from other artists to create our own beautiful masterpiece 🖼

      Soft Natual is of average height: not too short, not too tall.
      She's has a muscular body and is not womanly, but at the same time she has some soft flesh and rounder face features.
      Her most prominent feature is the width of her bones. Wider shoulders and wider face. Her bones don't have sharp edges, her bones are also not rounded, they're blunt.
      Her clothing lines are a bit longer, a bit loose, but with waist emphasis. Not too large, not too wide or chunky, not to intricate or small, not too stiff. I personally prefer tailored dresses and coats to wider ones, though, because I don't want to look too casual, even though that's not recommended for my body type. 😇
      That's all I can think of at this moment. I hope it helps you figure out your body type. :)

    Everyone else: It is the overall combination...
    TR: Soft yin, with a slight yang undercurrent.
    Initially, you are artistic, sensitive, eerely magnetic and extraordinary charming. -yin.
    As a hidden attraction you possess stily resolve drive, enormous will and a bold, creative and inovative outlook on life. -yang
    Damn you, David 🙄😂

    I do agree that yin/yang balance does have an affect on your movements, general vibe and essence. maybe not so much personality, as that is a whole other thing imo. I have observed very yang women, FN and D mostly, who give off such a powerful and bold, audacious vibe, though they may have a shy personality, their vibe is still very confident. And I am very yin (R or TR) and I do get told I come off as very feminine, electric and charming and also hv leadership qualities. (not to sound self obsessed lol) but then again its the essence and vibe. not personality. personality can be many things. In personality, I would say i am quite different than my vibe/essence. so yes, yin/yang does give off a certain vibe but doesn't mean that is your personality.

  • @lucy-ferprofiler5379

    I think that the main questions are: to what extent does your essence or the "vibe" you give reflect your personality or some aspects of it? And to what extent does your body type shape your personality? In my opinion, our body shape has an influence on our personality, we adapt to it, we react to it and it makes people react and treat us in a specific way. But I don't think our essence or our vibe necessarily reflects our personality. It can reflect it if your vibe or essence is self-created: your fashion choices, the way you style your hair, it does create your vibe, and tells about how you want the world to see you. Nevertheless, if you don't style yourself, you're "au natural", then I would say that your vibe might not necessarily reflect your personality.

      I agree with you -I think there is a correlation between esscence and body type because your physicality will affect how others percieve you and how you percieve yourself but your body is not the only thing that determines your esscence.

    Thank you so much Aly! I am so happy and feel so blessed to have come across your channel when I did. Everything you are saying makes perfect sense. And honestly it’s so hard to explain but... well it just makes sense!!! Around the same time I found your videos I deleted my Instagram and other social media such as Snapchat that makes you feel way too involved in other people’s business. And it just all came together for me! I do have role models but somehow truly knowing myself makes it so easy to pick the RIGHT role models, ones that I just feel that connection to. When I look at them I just want to be more like them. And I don’t know how but it just all plays so well with my Kibbe type and who I want to be and who I am and everything! My soul and my body and my style just feel so in harmony and I just wanted to thank you for being such a huge part of that journey. Now, I’ve been going through a rough patch of anxiety that’s caused me to lose confidence and get caught up in fear... and when you looked straight through the screen and said “I *know* that you already know who you are,” that was just a God send. I felt like you were talking directly to me. Thank you for reminding me that I DO know myself, and that I HAVE been myself! Love you Aly, God bless! ❤️

    Loved this, very helpful! The videos were great, seeing each type and the way they move, I can definitely see their essence even better with their movements, facial expressions, etc. thank you! I also understand what you are saying about trying on different personality characteristics. I think when we see someone who is expressing their true essence it is more appealing to us, and we sort of experiment with being the same way. If that’s not our essence, it doesn’t work for us and sometimes we are confused as to why it doesn’t work. We can pretend with those personality aspects but how we express ourselves when we aren’t trying something on, THAT is when we’re being true to ourselves and are therefore most appealing.

    Hmm, I wonder if essence is more to do with how we respond to others view of ourselves. For example: a gamine would seem “brassy” if treated like a kid...because they look childlike. A Dramatic would behave as such being taller and looked up to often, a romantic would be aware of their own curves, while a classic, with totally balanced features would be less worried about their looks and therefore are in general relaxed and confident. We do behave how we dress to an extent. The body types are synonymous with such distinctions in clothing it would be hard not to in some way take on the qualities of what we are wearing.
    For example: it would be hard to emote “depressed” while wearing a bumble bee print top if you’re gamine, or to appear to be “uptight” in the loose, flowy lines of a natural.

    In all honesty, I have been watching your video on and off for a year now! I had a hard time figuring out my Type! And the last part of your video really puts it perfectly into words as to why !!! I really got to see myself better the more I watched videos as yours and other people that are just so loving and positive without judgement to the many ways a person , but especially a women can look and be!!!!! I never personally realized how much I was implemented with other people's and societies idea of beauty! I always thought I was very "free and independent" without a care to how I look and dress! Why that might have been true, I got to really realize from your Video, that I still judged myself ! But not for the way I looked, but for that look I could never achieve! I thought it was my own shortcoming that I couldn't look like that! That's why I always acted as if I didn't care! But because of a lot of positive content such as yours I got to realize that I maybe should change the idea of beauty and with that the idea of femininity I was raised on! So really a huge thank you Aly , to you and the lovely community you have here on your platform !

    A topic very close to my heart! I’m watching a sad story where a 35-year-old friend persistently follows Monroe’s style. She's a soft gamine. And all these “mom’s clothes”, “ridiculous appearance”, “the feeling that she is trying too hard to be sensual and romantic” - I see it. At the same time, she notices that for some reason it DOESN'T WORK. But just try to tell her that the fact is that she is trying to “fit into someone else’s image” - immediately there will be resentment and accusations that she is being devalued! Well. I hope she finds herself.

    Great video..I have the book and open it often. Years ago I went to the Kibbe salon and had a work up and makeover type day. Expensive (at the time for me!) but so fun and interesting and saved me so much money over the years because I finally had a direction and concept. Wonderful experience. I am a classic/dramatic and live my truth! It’s so funny, but when you find your style it just feels like you can breathe! You don’t make the wrong choices anymore. Sometimes I would be attracted to something that is not my style, but when I put it on it’s like wearing a hair suit! LOL
    The book is a great reference..

    Hi Aly... thanks for the video. I thoroughly enjoyed your viewpoint on the subject of essence, beautifully and eloquently articulated. Nice point on the superstar thing too. I would add that True Individuality (which is of higher integrity, and of greater energetic potency) will almost necessitate that you will become accessible to a narrower group of people. This is simply because that, in a world that still rejects honesty and individuality, true individuals trigger the shit out of people, as it activates their own learned rejection of themselves! Individuals encourages individual uniqueness, and most of us have a lot of shit around acknowledging and living-as that uniqueness.
    Slightly disappointed (but not surprised) by people in the comments with a great deal of negativity. I feel much of the negativity is a reflection of the people writing the comments themselves, quite honestly. Everyone, of course Kibbe will write more about TRs, because he has more direct experience with it being himself a TR along with his wife - the woman who he literally loves - duh! If you are taking that to mean he is suggesting one if better over the other... er, no - thats YOU projecting some twist of your own self-rejection onto him. Do you really want to be playing the game of assumption like that? I would invite for a little more honesty in recognising where you may be holding insecurity towards yourself (or at very least making snap judgments). I have empathy for this naturally, there is a journey of course to be had with coming to a Love for ourselves and the body, but it isn't to excuse irresponsibility in projecting insecurity into assumptive and negative discourse.
    Now, on the subject of essence, I suggest you consider it this way: the essence described here is a *baseline* essence of the body type, but is not inclusive of the individuality of someone. This is very similar in astrology, actually, where the 'houses' originally belong to a particular sign, and so the houses hold those traits of that sign. However, in an individual's chart, their house may be connected to a completely different sign than the original, and so it has more influence - but it is LAYERED over the baseline characteristics of the original sign. For example, 4th house associated with cancer, and thus concerned with home affairs and family foundations. You may have LEO in your forth house, however. In which case, the traits of Leo will be emphasised WITHIN THE THEMES (cancer base) of the forth house. I hope that can sort of make sense, it was the most immediate comparison that came to me.
    The overall point is that what Kibbe is describing are skeletal elements, and fleshing them out is 100% concerned with the uniqueness of any individual. No system is going to represent a perfect reflection of you, guys. Seriously, not possible.
    If you want to play more with essence, I recommend Rachel from truth-is-beauty. com which has some great prompters, as well as Olga's ethereals from getthelook. These present some intricate ways to explore essence and archetypes a little further.
    💖 Stay tender.
