I usually find stylists that take into account your kibble bone structure/flesh, then NOT your essence, or the other way around, and then none of them taking into account your coloring, and on and on where they always miss so much about a person!!!! How refreshing to find someone like me who takes it ALL into account. :) Great job!
Good point, only learning my kibbe type left me really confused-why do things not mentioned intuitively work for me, I know I have broad shoulders, etc. but why does this work and not that? etc. Taking other elements into consideration makes it make sense!
Literally in the space of 10 days I have gone from finding my body problematic to feeling very optimistic about building a wardrobe the celebrates my uniqueness after finding your channel. I am sooo excited to start experimenting. At first I wanted to be a soft classic but I have finally admitted that I am probably more theatrical romantic. I’ve always hated not being able to wear the loose casual look that dominates social media. I’ve always disliked the fitted girly look that suits me but now I can see that it is something to work with and not against. Thank you thank you thank you xxxx
Oh my gosh! This is so amazing and I’m so happy for you. And I’m here if you have any questions 🥰 and Everyone has type envy at one point, I love the look of the TRs - and excited you’re going to embrace your unique beauty ❤️
I'm a theatrical romantic and it's helped me so much too! I wanted to be a dramatic so bad and kept wondering why I couldn't wear the same things as them. Now I'm focused on finding things that look great on me and it's helped me start to make peace with my body. Couldn't imagine it'd help as much as it has 😊
You are the best kibbe youtuber🙌🏻 I was tired of other youtuber’s outdated outfit examples. I’m sure your subscribers will increase. Love from Türkiye (Turkey)❤️🧿
I was so confused when the first example came up because Nicole is my name and I'm a true autumn with a classic essence with that kind of style! Great video, thanks for such practical examples.
I love how you used real people instead of celebrities. I kinda wished you would have titled their kibble type when introducing each person just to make it easier for me to find my type. I love the visuals and all your advice! Like don’t go and shop so fast when learning all of this. Well done!!!!
I loved this and would love to see a part 2 and more. I feel like I’m a reluctant classic and really related to Lisa’s look with the natural and ethereal touches. I think I could wear that even though I think I’m in the classic family. I wouldn’t even mind seeing other outfit ideas for the same persons.
I understand what you mean about reluctant classic! I can't relate to the formal aspects of classic style. But my essence is mainly ethereal and it does go well with classic (or dramatic classic in my case) body type and features: there's so much symmetry and regularity that you can take your style in a different direction with only subtle changes. I think as well that classic features can lend themselves easily to the angelic type of ethereal look.
I think that could definitely work for a classic, it’s all about learning your body and finding clothes you feel good in. Ultimately these are just tools to help you get there, but help you create your own style recipe 🥰
Great video. My kibbie is Soft Gamine. My seasonal coloring is bright winter. My essence is classic. My vibe is polished nice casual with a vintage flare. My personal style is comfortable yet chic with mix of modern and vintage. My life style is mainly work from home but I do like to get out in my small city for shopping, self care and blowing off steam on my day off.
omg i love this video idea!! really puts in perspective all the theory you have been discussing. i would love to be included if you did part 2 of this video🤩 im flamboyant natrural with natural and romantic essence. im also soft summer. my style preference could be described as artsy elegance with an edge i should also ad that im a student 😵
I'm sorry fellow flamboyant natural- I literally got to publish and realized, oh my goodness I forgot my own ID representation.🙃 I'm glad you liked this one though, and if we do another I'll be sure to include FN. Do you have any wardrobe "non-negotiables"/needs?
@@Gabriellearrudadesign i would only say that i dont like things that are too long or too baggy since im pretty thin and i feel like it completely hides any shape i do have. and also no bell bottoms. cant believe those are as popular as they are.
I’m just so happy Elena is so close to me I’m a soft classic (not plus size tho) a Ingenue with a little classic essence with a soft autumn color season! The style priority’s aren’t very close to mine but who care lol!
I love the way you explain such a massive amount of information in such a nuanced and helpful way. So I’m new to all of these typing systems and so far I think I’m a Kibbe soft natural. I’m stuck on essences, but natural, ethereal and ingenue seem most likely. And I’m probably a Cool Summer. I need my wardrobe to be casual, but slightly elevated. I want to feel stylish and put together even though I’m chasing two toddlers. I love boho and delicate details. I’m trying to embrace dressing and enhancing the body I have instead of trying to hide all the “flaws”. I’ve found your videos so helpful and entertaining 😁 sorry for the novel 😂
My indecisive tail could never, I'd be trying to maintain the comfort casual/ scholarly academic aesthetic of my day to day life while incorporating my natural base elements while trying trying to include my style biases which can vary from nerdy band t - shirts and quirky accessories to cottagecore dresses and blouses to neo futuristic tights with black tops and monochrome dresses to dark royalcore. I think I'm going to try to cycle through the biases whenever my wardrobe needs to be revamped.
I love this video. If you do another, I'd love to contribute. Thank you for this! Kibbe: theatrical romantic Essence: classic, romantic and a touch of gamine Season: bright winter Vibe: casual, fun, bright, friendly, glowing Personal style- feminine, playful and rustic/country Lifestyle: I live on a farm and work remote. When I go into the office it's business casual.
Yes for part 2! I’m a Deep Autumn, Flamboyant Natural with Romantic essence (I love soft dramatic and theatrical romantics stuff but I’m way too muscular for some of that stuff). I would define my style sexy, sophisticated, glamour yet effortless. I love Dolce & Gabbana and Italian vintage imahinary, but It’s a pain to choose for casual outfits!
This is a cool combo to add to my list! So I've heard from some people who have conflicting kibbe ID color parameters and seasonal color palettes that they can sometimes add in some more or less contrast (like a black) because their overall essence can handle it. But ultimately, I think you could do some really cool outfits in the true summer palette. I would say maybe say lean into some sharper or slightly darker accessories (especially like a shoe) so that it doesn't go too ingenue (unless that is in your blend). But if we do another one of these I'll definitely include this
@@Gabriellearrudadesign yes please include this! I mostly ignore my soft summer palette to be honest because it is such a "shy", nondescript palette that does not match to the Dramatic family. Black is a go-to for me as well, because even if it is not my ideal color, I don't mind people looking at the color first and my face second (which is what color analysts always seem to criticise when wearing the wrong colors). Would love to see your take on this!
This is amazing! I most identify with Lana. I’m a medical student. Dark/deep autumn (but I can definitely pull off true/warm autumn in the spring & summer and when my hair is dyed lighter). I’m a soft classic with a classic-romantic-natural essence. I actually thought the fit you picked was so similar to something I would wear and actually feel the most beautiful AND confortable in. I think it is so important for us to see how our essences play in on our body type. When I was first learning about the body types, I related so much to how classic, natural AND romantic were presented but my lines are definitely classic (or I get swallowed up). However, learning my essence filled in the blanks. Classic lines look best on me, but they restrain my personality. I either need the romantic touches to feel feminine or the natural touches to add freedom. I like how you added them all in one. Coincidentally, I went to look at my Pinterest from before I starting learning all of these things and it was full of classic + romantic or classic + natural. Also, I was starting to notice that too much makeup would make me look overdone or masculine and that certain styles I would put on completely overtook me (adding a medium detail of a particular style/trend/vibe and my entire look would take on that personality) - this is very common within classics. It’s all making senseeeeee!!
Oh! I originally voted A but I’m changing to D with a video idea :) You kind of cover it with this video since we do see a variety of types combined with different essences but I’m interested to see *side by side* examples of inverse kibbe body types + essence combinations. For example, side by side comparison of what a SC with romantic essence would wear versus what a R with classic essence would wear. That way we could see what elements accommodate specifically the lines and which elements express essence. And it could be with other combinations as well, D with Natural essence and vice versa, etc.! Hope that makes sense!
To extend on this… what happens if your essence totally dominates your Kibbe type? I’m a Romantic in teh Kibbe system, but the lines are all wrong. I have a long visual line (not short), circles aren’t right (elongates curves are) and waist emphasis is all wrong (short-waisted!). In this setup it would look like Romantic with Ethereal essence… but in reality the Ethereal lines and recommendations are the perfect fit and Romantic is half hit and half miss. So I’d be closer to Ethereal with a hint of Romantic essence!! Oh and Ingenue essence too 😂😇
This is exactly the format I was looking for! Since the moment I found out about essences the whole picture has came together and now I'm focused on practicing and experimenting with all that knowledge. It would be really helpful if you continued showing us examples like that. A little bit more about my journey in the following comment. The concept of essence was so crucial for understanding my personal vibes, because it seemed like all the Kibbe recommendations were missing something, until I figured out I had strong romantic and dramatic essences in addition to my soft natural Kibbe type. If I'm lucky to get into your video, these are my personal style depiction: Bio:F 20 years old Extremely fem or androgynous looks are both fine. Color season: deep autumn, though I long to cooler colors of the wheel. [My personal palette includes all sorts of reds, purples, blues, red chocolate browns and black] Style markers: dangerously powerful["get out of my way" kinda look], intellectual, sensual, yet elegant, with retro vampire/goth undercurrent. Favorite fashion decades: 20s, 40-50s, 90s, early 00s. Style icons: Bette Porter from the "L word"[her 00s office chic outfits' silhouettes], Victoria and Garrett from "Twilight"[their wildness], Neil Gaiman; Tim Burton [they are an incredible example of fantasy/goth inspired fashion irl]. Lifestyle: freelance author, who spends most of their time outside [doing interviews, attending museums, theatres and seminars, working predominantly in libraries]. I look for professional, yet artistic outfits, that I could wear both at my work and at social events, without looking out of place. Kind of a formal look with interesting touches. Weather: Autumn as an average index. As I walk around a city a lot, I need my clothes and especially shoes to be on the comfortable side. But not too casual or relaxed. I prefer fitted silhouettes and strategic sensuality. Absolute taboos: sportswear, sneakers, overtly tight or oversized clothing, jeans and extremely revealing pieces. I don't if this would help, but my look alikes are Damiano David, Kim Taehyung and Tamino. Well, I personally don't think we look similar, but I've been told that too many times to just ignore it.
I just learned about Kibbe’s system and these videos are for sure the best I have found describing them! I realized I was doing this in my own way by defining my wardrobe in 2 main categories: Sexy Lioness (a combo of dramatic and romantic I’m realizing) and Feminine CEO (natural with some dramatic vibe bc I love wearing suits). Also being a bright winter goes well with the dramatic and romantic essence w the bold colors. Anyway, so glad I discovered you and thanks for doing these amazing videos!
You have helped me with my person style journey so much. I also love how you use POC it helps me visualize better ☺️. But I don’t even know if my kibbe ID, seasonal colour analysis and essence are compatible. My kibbe ID is romantic, my seasonal colour is dark winter, but my essence is a dramatic? People say I have a “silent killer” vibe lol. I like how mysterious it makes me feel but I also want to give an approachable vibe as I want to talk to people. I am also a uni student.
I've added this to my comment list for future videos, thank you for sharing. I have all the examples for part 2, but your parameters are in the queue next!
Ok. So I did the map and started my moodboard, found my aesthetics, but I'm having a lot of trouble translating my aesthetics to my needs. Kibbe: TR, possibly SN or SG, honestly who knows? Essences: Romantic, Ethereal, Dramatic, Classic (kind of a draw between the last two) Color Palette: Deep autumn Vibes: Dreamy/alluring, anachronistic, moody Style: Historical (I love the belle epoch, medieval fashion, and regency fashion), formal, feminine, put-together My needs: Currently work remotely from home, but may be switching jobs to an all-male team where some travel is required. Active lifestyle, where I often travel by bike, rail, and foot. I prefer natural fibers--because polyester makes me sweat more than usual. Basically, I have no idea how to integrate the flowing, luxurious fabrics that I want to wear with the active lifestyle I have. Or should I just make multiple personas?
I loved this ❤️ if there would be a round 3, count me in 🙈 Kibbe type: Soft Classic Essence: Classic, Ingenue Personal style adjectives: sophisticated, delicate Colour season: Soft Autumn Lifestyle: Working as a therapist in private practice, located in a capital city in Europe (public transportation and walking) Inspiration, vibes: librarian chic, academic french, parisienne minimal chic, classic feminine, ingenue
Gabs come back we need your cool sense of logic. I'm a flamboyant natural, true autumn, with natural, dramatic and ingenue essences. I love a earthy vibe, with tiny touches of bohemian.
I'm a huge fan of your videos, it would be great if you made a video talking about how to integrate your personal taste with your kibbe type/essence, for example I'm a kibbe romantic with ingenue essence and most probably a spring palette but I love a more dark, punk look and one of my style icons is twiggy. Everything about screams softness but on the inside I don't really feel like it
Your videos are really eye openers. I love them, it's so fun to watch and I have to stop myself from ordering whole onlineshops to test out what fits and suits me 😁😁😁 It's the perfect way to spend a rainy Saturday morning 😊 Thank you Gabrielle ❤❤❤❤❤
This is great, I'd love to see a part 2. And if you are looking for more examples, my deets are: Kibbie: Soft Dramatic Color: Bright Spring Essence: etherial (sparkle, lace, light fabrics) , edgy (metal studs, buckles, leather, powerful), boho (big jewelry, artsy, long pieces) Lifestyle: lots of travel, beaches, mountains, work from home on TH-cam. I am always looking to create an impact/wow factor
Wow, I absolutely LOVED this video! So helpful to see visual examples of how you can put outfits together using the different systems. As for your next video, ingenue is one of my essences so I would love an ingenue deep dive video. Or another video like this one with examples.
Thank you for this format! It's incredibly helpful! If you decide to make another one like it... I'm a soft classic with natural, delicate & dreamy essences, my season is soft summer and my style adjectives are timeless, comfortable, chic & graceful. I love coastal grandmother, ballet core, equestrian chic, old money & south of France vibes. My lifestyle has a range of activities and events, so versatility & practicality is really important to me. I'm an oil painter and freelance graphic artist, I'll turn 30 soon and would like to keep the classic look without feeling like I'm wearing a costume or trying too hard. I live in the Blue Ridge mountains in a small rural town, so I'd prefer to still feel like my style in harmony with my environment.
I loved this, really great outfits you put together. I am still struggling with figuring out my essence, if you could do another video on that i would be really grateful!
Yes! Any specific essence you want to see first? Also the freely kibbe facebook group (not my group) can be super helpful with at least narrowing down your essence.
I love this type of videos 😍🥰. I really hope there will be another and I'd love to contribute. Kibbe: DC Essence: classic, natural Season: Soft autumn Personal style: Elegant and effortles, sometimes extravagant Insiration: french capsule wardrobe, old money Lifestyle: I am a science student so i like to wear clothes that looks good under a white coat. I tend to be ridicolously overdressed at parties😅
this is so awesome and fun!! thank you for taking the time to do this. please do more! its super inspiring! also it is so hard to remember to take a outfit photo every day but i can see how it is going to be super helpful.
Ya, I find treating it like a new habit helps. Do it immediately after or before something you already do in the morning. Being able to look back on your outfits can be surprisingly eye opening to what’s working or what you lean towards .
i'm so excited for part 2, this is honestly good enough to be a series you do every now and then :) my style points if you include me ~ romantic, essence blend of romantic+ingenue+ethereal, season is suspected soft autumn (dark hair, hazel eyes, pale skin that's neutral leaning to warm, always gravitate to dusty/muted/rich colours or beige/pastels, black is great but I avoid pure white at all costs ahaha) adjectives would be alluring/mysterious, artistic (I take pretty much all fashion inspo from renaissance and neoclassical paintings, esp of greek mythology, as in long drapes and incorporation of scarves etc), royalcore, old hollywood i'm a uni student so i can wear what i like, i love having theatrical/otherworldly looks and am pretty much always aiming to emanate some kind of historical era, think Vivien Leigh as Cleopatra and Connie Nielsen in Gladiator, accessories are a complete must with this points to mention, i'm on my way to wearing a hijab so any outfits with hair and skin coverage would be great! and anything more form fitting i tend to add an outer layer to (e.g. blazer) for more modesty, i plan to be super creative with scarves as well, from wearing them tied under the chin 50s style to long and draping and loose, i'd love to have some powerful femme fatale touches to things but without overtaking the entire outfit and i'm not fully sure how i'd do that, gloves/nails/shoes maybe? anywayy hopefully that isn't too all over the place, i'd love to see what you'd do
This was so helpful! I was the last example. The y2k sunglasses are such a good idea. Loved both outfits, I have a few similar pieces, will definetly try to recreate them. Thank you so much for this video! Also I actually made the mistake of buying a lot all at once, thinking i was a gamine because of my narrowness. As a soft dramatic that looked somewhat off. Never again buying so much in a hurry! Great tip, people listen to her!
this video was really fun to watch - i really like your sense of humor and understanding all of these types, and you do a great job explaining it! if you do a part two, please consider adding one with natural kibbe, dramatic+natural+ethereal essence with soft autumn palette!! UGH
Yay ! Part 2 and ongoing please ❤. I definitely think we should make this a series as content idea, like a video pinterest. I even feel we should pay you for this lol. Just leaving my current journey here ~ Kibbe: Romantic Essence: ingenue/classic/romantic Season: True winter Outfits: all dresses or skirts, heels, rarely flats, big lingerie collection in florals, blues, and blacks Style: formal, semi-formal, high-quality fabric, "Rebecca Taylor dresses", never casual, hinting subtle allure Makeup: must include some color for lips, all shades of red Life stage: mid-20s, remote job, IT Features: black hair, darkest brown eyes, fair skin, cool-undertone, Asian
I’d love to see more examples like this because I’m still very much struggling. I’m a plus-sized kibbe romantic with ingenue romantic essence and a light summer. Now, combining all that could be easy if light & feminine was my personal taste. But just like Katrina and Emily I’m into the artsy edgy look, probably because I’m a design student :D I love the modern artsy 70s style of Florence Given and the punk rokoko aesthetics of Vivienne Westwood. On the other side, I’m not a fan of looking too girly, proper and (womanly) glamorous and comfort is a non-negotiable for me. Please help me, Gabrielle 🙏
Awww I loved this so much! I am binging your videos for the past 2 days after finding myself Kibbe! Thank you so much for sharing with us your acknowledgment! I’d love love if you could design my wardrobe! 🥰 I am a: - Flamboyant Gamine, with romantic, classic and ingenue essences and soft autumn colour palette - Stay at home mom that is usually on the move, doing groceries, going to the playground, playing and baking - Even though I’m a stay at home mom I love to be put together, being feminine, a bit elegant but welcoming, which I think my curly hair helps with that - Most of my wardrobe has mostly midi skirts and dresses and I have two pair of mom jeans haha (I think jeans makes my body movements stiff) - love most outfits of Marylin Monroe, Ballerina flats, old Hollywood outfits, but also women in dresses who lives in a farm Hope I’m chosen to the part 2 😍
B and C because I have both ingenue and ethereal in my essence blend, but also D, a video on how to blend essences. I know that in depth videos on essences will be helpful to understanding how to incorporate them in general, but videos where you address certain blends, or even an in depth video on how to blend multiple essences would be great. also some videos on how to incorporate some of the more difficult essences for everyday wear. I'm a stay at home mom, homesteader-in-becoming, and aspiring entrepreneur, so ingenue ethereal essence can seem really far out of alignment with my lifestyle, even though it totally aligns with what I feel my best in.
This is so great thank you for this video!! You covered mine and I can definitely see myself using the outfit you created :) Also you were even spot on with the style board, lol! My vote is for A, more examples like this video. It's great to learn from all the other examples too. Thanks for all you do!
Good job on this video! This was very helpful 😍 I would love more videos like this one! Would be interested in seeing more examples of how you could "break the rules" without actually breaking them because we know how to do it right ;)
Thank you! So breaking rules is a little personal to the person, but we could definitely create some fictional or rough scenarios where it would make sense to break the rules. Ultimately, I think it's about your head to toe, and what your outfits goals are.
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Yes you're right, that could mean many things 😄 I was thinking mostly of the kibbe lines,so for example gamines dressing oversize looks kind of cool on some. But yes, that goes also into your essence, so I guess would be intresting seeing even more examples of styles that are different than the stereotypical kibbe archetypes :)
Hi Gabrielle! Please do more of these! I'm also going to put in my characteristics because I'm currently 2 days into my journey and am somewhat lost already lol. Basically have only learned so far that I've been wearing all the wrong colors my whole life. I might also be a bit challenging so I apologize in advance. Seasonal Color Palette: Light Summer (or maybe Light Spring -- I have a cool skin tone with dirty blonde hair that comes down to my shoulders and gray-blue eyes but I strongly prefer gold jewelry on me) Kibbe Type: Soft Natural or Soft Gamine (though I am 5'6" but always appear taller so Soft Gamine might not work). My body shape is an Apple. Essence: Natural with Classic and Romantic elements as well Style Adjectives: confident/powerful/stand-outish, classy/sophisticated/intelligent, and extroverted/warm/friendly I really look up to Taylor Swift as a style icon, ever since I started listening to her music when I was 6 years old. I grew up a tomboy and I now identify as non-binary, but I still like to look feminine most of the time. I'm a college student studying Media & Culture (or what I like to call "a degree in Instagram infographics"), with plans to attend grad school then move to NYC for a job in PR, social media management, marketing, and the like. I like to wear my hair down almost exclusively because of my round, chubby face (forgot to mention I'm plus size). I also hate shorts that aren't abnormally long (think nothing shorter than a biker short) and have never tried a skirt once in my life because of my thighs always chafing. I'm also always hot so would prefer something that won't make me sweat in the dead of winter. I live in Pennsylvania so I do experience winters and snow but also 100 degree weather in the summer. Most of my current wardrobe is currently darker colors (like olive and burgundy), black, and gray, with a large myriad of other colors and neutrals in between. Sorry this is so long! I hope all the detail helps!
I would say A or B for next video! I love this because while I’ve figured out that I’m a flamboyant natural I’m not quite sure on the essences yet, and I’d love to have more ideas on how the different essences mix with FN, because boho isn’t totally me. I also would love insight on how to dress for summer when you’re a deep winter coloring!
I love your advice!!! I've been so fustrated with my style but you make everything so much easier! Turns out I am a warm autumn, kibbe romantic, with a natural and classic essence. So excited to finally find looks that I love and feel great wearing!♥️😁
I would love to see a deeper dive into incorporating ethereal essence into more casual styles or just more info about it in general. I am most likely a Soft Classic, soft summer palette with a lot of ethereal and gamine essence. I prioritize comfort while not looking dumpy and honoring myself fully.
This is such a great video! The examples make it so much easier to understand how each of the style elements work together! I'd love to see a part 2, and if you need more examples, then I am a soft gamine with ingenue, classic, and slight romantic essences, and I'm a deep winter. I want to be seen as dependable, refined, feminine, sweet, easygoing, and comfortable. I'm 22, a recent college grad, and I'm planning to work in an administrative position within an educational setting (not too formal or casual). I struggle to put together a wardrobe that is appropriate for work during the warmer months and will not cause me to be mistaken for a student or a teenager dressing in her mother's clothes. I am inspired by Parisian chic style, academia styles with a strong feminine touch, and a little bit of cottagecore. Overall, I like a simple and modest aesthetic with the occasional touch of luxury.
Hi, Gabrielle! Thank you for this video. I will watch it many times, since I feel identified to many of your examples and I love your ideas. See: I'm a Romantic (or TR), 50%Classic30%Natural20%Ingenue essence blend, Deep Autumn, Plus Size. I work from home and I want to wear comfortable, flattering, Colorful and modest outfits. So, wow, thank you, thank you. ❤️ P.s. I choose option A. So helpful.
This is amazing! I'd love to see more like this. It's helpful to see all the examples. I'm a reluctant theatrical romantic with dramatic essence. But I love boho! I have such a hard time figuring out how to wear loose dresses and big earrings.
I would love part 2! this was so cool! My kibbe is theatrical romantic, I think my essences is Ethereal-Romantic (maybe a bit of ingenue), think Birth of Venus, nature inspiriation, vivid colors, florals, pearls, fairy queen vibes, embroidery, art nouveau, dash of 30's-40's movie star/pinup. joyful, generous, bright. I am a warm spring (pale redhead) I like to protect my pale skin from the sun for summer wear, and I'm most comfortable in natural fibers.
Thank you for your video, so so helpful !! I'm a kibbe dramatic, with a dark autumn color palette, but I'm still indecisive about my essence, I think I'm half dramatic and half ethereal. My main problem is my style depends on the day and my mood, sometimes I wanna feel powerful, sometimes cottage core. Some things never change though : I want to be elegant and feminine, and I love colors, beige/grey is not for me ! And I'm a student :)
you are really good at this! If you will consider part 2) I’m 1⃣plus size dramatic classic, 2⃣season: deep autumn, 3⃣essence: gamine-natural-classic/ethereal,4️⃣ keywords: artsy, sensual, relaxed. Graphic designer, working from home. Go out to buy groceries, to the gym, to meet my girls and to dine out with my husband. Anyway, thank you very much, I find your content very helpful for navigating my personal style! add: for some reason this is my third attempt to leave a comment so hope it goes well lol
I really love this idea! It's so helpful to see examples like this but I wish you had done a flamboyant natural. I don't usually like a lot of fn examples because they're too boho or safari themed. Could you maybe try a girly flamboyant natural-classic essence-summer pallet?
Ahhhhh I have to vote C. I'm on the fence on whether I have an ingenue essence. Kibbe body type is Soft Gamine and seasonal palette is deep winter. Wondering how that can work with an ingenue essence.
a & d - more videos like this one! it blew my mind. also, i would love a video on the kibbe romantic with various essences and adjectives examples to see the variety that's possible. thank you!
your channel is so helpful. I always find these systems so usefull but so confusing as often I am like yeah that's my type and then find out I'm too tall, I'm not dramatic, I find when I wear those clothes it just looks off and too sexy. I think I am a soft classic or soft natural with ingenue/ethereal/natural essence and a cool autumn now and it's been very helpful honestly to figure this all out, so thank you :)
Ahhhh I recognised my parameters and I’m so so delighted by your recommendations! You absolutely nailed it again Gaby!! ❤️❤️ I feel like I even have some pieces close enough to your recommendations in my closet already, guess that’ll be my outfit tomorrow 🙃❤️ thank you so much, your videos are always so so helpful 🥰🥰 keep them coming please!! ❤️ I’d say I want choice B!!
A! I really enjoyed this video and I’m surprised that my the example I felt most drawn to was the DC. I would love to see one with more plus size ladies too! It was very helpful!
Ahh this was so fun to watch! Still working on my adjectives and my mood board, but I'm getting there. I'm a soft natural but I have classic-ingenue essence, and trying to figure out how to honor my lines while still having a polished, preppy, academia/literary kind of vibe. This video is definitely giving me some idea of how to put it all together.
I don't accept input on my personal style bc I'm too picky, but I'm a romantic and I love the pink top you picked out. My methods: I ignore essences and just stick to drawing from kibbe and color analysis and now a little of Rita's four quadrant system. The Rita's 4Q puts me in left down, which describes my pickiness as sensuality. Basically I'm v sensitive to heat and cold and I want to be comfortable at all times lol (Style thoughts by rita is the channel iirc)
Yes, I've heard of her system but haven't studied it much. But that's amazing it's helped you clarify your goals. And I think its great to be picky, it means you know what you like!
Omg I just found your website a few days and I thought it was so helpful!! I didn't realize you had a youtube channel too. I just found out I'm a dark winter soft gamine and have yet to find my essence blend. Thanks for all your help!
D- Romantic or Dramatic essence in-depth! Thank you for doing mine, I was Christina and loved you tips for the outfit 🖤 would you mind sending me the link to this deep autumn palette you showed
So if you do a part 2: I'd love to see how you'd interpret my mom's style parameters! She's a professor :) buckle up, this is long! I'm pretty sure she's a TR - she's quite short, and wears petite sized clothes, but she's got a tighter double curve with sharp and bird-like bone structure. She prefers waist emphasis, but doesn't like high rise pants. None of the gamine recommendations suit her very well, and she's not as squishy as I am, even at the same height/weight ratio (I'm SN). So it seems TR is the best option. Her essence is *extremely* classic, with a hint of natural (in the sense that she enjoys her wavy hair out with a silk scarf wrapped around her neck, but her clothing isn't adventurous, though she does like some more natural textures). She loves a good fitted henley top, linen dresses (but not flouncy or A-line because she feels drowned, nor long/midi - modest mini), modest mini skirts, crisp fitted button-up tops, and slightly cropped boot cut or full-length straight pants. She prefers a block heel for comfort + to give her some height. She has a tendency to buy the same item of clothing in every color and has a "uniform." She wears a lot of black, but I personally think she looks best in rich warm tones like corals, rust, and mustard, though she despises brown. She feels out of place when things are too bold - i.e. an "odd" coloured suit (she might pair an olive blazer with black or brown pants, but will never have a full suit in an unconventional color), chunky or adventurously-shaped shoes, or irregular patterns. She loves a good classic plaid or striped top or pants, and gravitates towards luxe and natural materials like wool, linen, silk, quality cotton etc. Her go-to lip is a semi sheer warm orange cream lipstick. There you go, hopefully it is a lot to work with! I'm personally more intense, playful, and experimental than my mom when it comes to style, and am quite a bit taller (mom is 4'11 & looks her height, but I'm 5'4 & everyone thinks I'm 5'6). I want my mom to play around more and have fun!
Do you offer a personal styling long-distance service? I'm super loving that you take all four into account (if I'm describing these right): Kitchener essences Kibbe body types Seasonal color palette Style words (And sometimes style board and/or people who are style inspirations) And you give great, realistic, full-outfit examples! I like your videos and blog so far! Your career background is impressive too. I wanna watch the episode of Project Runway you were on! I'm still not sure how fruit/shape body types (pear, apple, hourglass, rectangle, inverted triangle, any I'm missing) fit with Kibbe body types? For example, if someone is an apple can they be any of the Kibbe types??
I usually find stylists that take into account your kibble bone structure/flesh, then NOT your essence, or the other way around, and then none of them taking into account your coloring, and on and on where they always miss so much about a person!!!! How refreshing to find someone like me who takes it ALL into account. :) Great job!
Thank you!
I'm so glad you've found them helpful! Means a lot!
ben de kibbe takip eden bi Türk'üm
I was so confused when the first example came up because Nicole is my name and I'm a true autumn with a classic essence with that kind of style! Great video, thanks for such practical examples.
Haha!
More videos with examples like these!
Ok! feel free to leave your style parameters and I'll include them if the example video is next 🥰
I'd love to see a seasonal color video that focuses on narrowing down your best colors to start building a capsule wardrobe from.
Oh! Caroline & Lisa, I feel you! This was great to watch. 😊
Great video. My kibbie is Soft Gamine. My seasonal coloring is bright winter. My essence is classic. My vibe is polished nice casual with a vintage flare. My personal style is comfortable yet chic with mix of modern and vintage. My life style is mainly work from home but I do like to get out in my small city for shopping, self care and blowing off steam on my day off.
omg i love this video idea!! really puts in perspective all the theory you have been discussing. i would love to be included if you did part 2 of this video🤩 im flamboyant natrural with natural and romantic essence. im also soft summer. my style preference could be described as artsy elegance with an edge
i should also ad that im a student 😵
Sounds like you already know what you like, so run with that!
I love this video. If you do another, I'd love to contribute. Thank you for this!
Kibbe: theatrical romantic
Essence: classic, romantic and a touch of gamine
Season: bright winter
Vibe: casual, fun, bright, friendly, glowing
Personal style- feminine, playful and rustic/country
Lifestyle: I live on a farm and work remote.
I am a true summer - soft dramatic - its an interesting combo - because most soft dramatics I see usually use bold or dark colors
same here :) I am soft summer and soft dramatic
Same!! Although as a summer I think I look pretty good in black bc at least it’s cool in comparison to a yellow or a warm brown.
Dito!
The hard work (creatively so) you put in your videos is commendable, I hope your audience grows. (and soon BC they're missing out ha!)
Ah, thank you so much! That is really such a nice compliment, and very appreciated!
It’s all making senseeeeee!!
ive seen a lot of drawings of the IDs and yours is the best! it really shows the accomodations of each
Thank you! I plan to upload those images to my website soon for reference 😊
Yes- I think since everyone likes this format for the future in-depth essence videos I’ll include examples like this as well 😊
To extend on this… what happens if your essence totally dominates your Kibbe type?
If I'm lucky to get into your video, these are my personal style depiction:
Bio:F 20 years old
Extremely fem or androgynous looks are both fine.
Color season: deep autumn, though I long to cooler colors of the wheel. [My personal palette includes all sorts of reds, purples, blues, red chocolate browns and black]
Style markers: dangerously powerful["get out of my way" kinda look], intellectual, sensual, yet elegant, with retro vampire/goth undercurrent.
Thank you so much! You are brilliant, extremely talented and inspirational
This ia amazing, Gabrielle!!!
Georgia was all my stuff EXACTLY. wow thank you so much for this video! So helpful.
Im so glad it helped!
This was really fun. Even though these women weren't my mix, I learned from each example how you blend the various elements into a complete look.
Glad you enjoyed it! I plan to do another variation of this soon 👍🏻
Ok. So I did the map and started my moodboard, found my aesthetics, but I'm having a lot of trouble translating my aesthetics to my needs.
Kibbe: TR, possibly SN or SG, honestly who knows?
Essences: Romantic, Ethereal, Dramatic, Classic (kind of a draw between the last two)
Color Palette: Deep autumn
Vibes: Dreamy/alluring, anachronistic, moody
Style: Historical (I love the belle epoch, medieval fashion, and regency fashion), formal, feminine, put-together
My needs: Currently work remotely from home, but may be switching jobs to an all-male team where some travel is required.
I loved this ❤️ if there would be a round 3, count me in 🙈
Kibbe type: Soft Classic
Essence: Classic, Ingenue
Personal style adjectives: sophisticated, delicate
Colour season: Soft Autumn
Lifestyle: Working as a therapist in private practice, located in a capital city in Europe (public transportation and walking)
Inspiration, vibes:
librarian chic, academic
french, parisienne
minimal chic, classic
feminine, ingenue
Gabs come back we need your cool sense of logic. I'm a flamboyant natural, true autumn, with natural, dramatic and ingenue essences. I love a earthy vibe, with tiny touches of bohemian.
I can't get enough of this
Thank you! I’m going to try to do more of them soon 👍🏻
Everything about screams softness but on the inside I don't really feel like it
Loved the video! Would love an in-depth ingenue video next
Your videos are really eye openers. I love them, it's so fun to watch and I have to stop myself from ordering whole onlineshops to test out what fits and suits me 😁😁😁
It's the perfect way to spend a rainy Saturday morning 😊
Thank you Gabrielle ❤❤❤❤❤
Your fashion content is some of my favourite it’s very actionable and it’s the first thing I’ve heard in a while that has fresh take on these concepts
You are so talented and dedicated!
This is great, I'd love to see a part 2. And if you are looking for more examples, my deets are:
Kibbie: Soft Dramatic
Color: Bright Spring
Essence: etherial (sparkle, lace, light fabrics) , edgy (metal studs, buckles, leather, powerful), boho (big jewelry, artsy, long pieces)
Lifestyle: lots of travel, beaches, mountains, work from home on TH-cam. I am always looking to create an impact/wow factor
I really appreciate all of your hard work, and to be honest, you totally change my fashion game! Thank you for all of your knowledge sharing.
You are so welcome!
Wow, I absolutely LOVED this video! So helpful to see visual examples of how you can put outfits together using the different systems. As for your next video, ingenue is one of my essences so I would love an ingenue deep dive video. Or another video like this one with examples.
I think I might do some examples within the in-depth ingenue video as well- so maybe both 👍🏻
Thank you for this format!
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Thank you for the quick answer and tip! Perhaps Natural? I am kind of lost between Natural, Classic, Ingenue and Dramatic...
I love this type of videos 😍🥰. I really hope there will be another and I'd love to contribute.
Kibbe: DC
Essence: classic,natural
Season: Soft autumn
Personal style: Elegant and effortles, sometimes extravagant
Insiration: french capsule wardrobe, old money
Lifestyle: I am a science student so i like to wear clothes that looks good under a white coat.
Being able to look back on your outfits can be surprisingly eye opening to what’s working or what you lean towards .
you have de quality of a big youruber i swear underrated
🥰thank you!
i'm so excited for part 2, this is honestly good enough to be a series you do every now and then :)
my style points if you include me ~ romantic, essence blend of romantic+ingenue+ethereal, season is suspected soft autumn (dark hair, hazel eyes, pale skin that's neutral leaning to warm, always gravitate to dusty/muted/rich colours or beige/pastels, black is great but I avoid pure white at all costs ahaha)
adjectives would be alluring/mysterious, artistic (I take pretty much all fashion inspo from renaissance and neoclassical paintings, esp of greek mythology, as in long drapes and incorporation of scarves etc), royalcore, old hollywood
i'm a uni student so i can wear what i like, i love having theatrical/otherworldly looks and am pretty much always aiming to emanate some kind of historical era, think Vivien Leigh as Cleopatra and Connie Nielsen in Gladiator, accessories are a complete must with this
points to mention, i'm on my way to wearing a hijab so any outfits with hair and skin coverage would be great! and anything more form fitting i tend to add an outer layer to (e.g. blazer) for more modesty, i plan to be super creative with scarves as well, from wearing them tied under the chin 50s style to long and draping and loose, i'd love to have some powerful femme fatale touches to things but without overtaking the entire outfit and i'm not fully sure how i'd do that, gloves/nails/shoes maybe?
anywayy hopefully that isn't too all over the place, i'd love to see what you'd do
I really like this style of video, I could watch it for hours tbh. Each of these outfits gives me a new perspective on style in a certain context
Oh yay! I’m glad you liked them and thank you for offering your style parameters (you have such a cool job 🥰)
this video was really fun to watch - i really like your sense of humor and understanding all of these types, and you do a great job explaining it! if you do a part two, please consider adding one with natural kibbe, dramatic+natural+ethereal essence with soft autumn palette!! UGH
Ok! Any style adjectives, personal style map imagery/inspo, or lifestyle needs for the example?
@@Gabriellearrudadesign bold, layered, subversive,, and still comfortable to move around i think?
I discovered this channel recently and I can tell it is going to blow up!
Aw thank you so much! Thats such a nice thing to hear 🥰
Yay ! Part 2 and ongoing please ❤. I definitely think we should make this a series as content idea, like a video pinterest. I even feel we should pay you for this lol. Just leaving my current journey here ~
Kibbe: Romantic
Essence: ingenue/classic/romantic
Season: True winter
Outfits: all dresses or skirts, heels, rarely flats, big lingerie collection in florals, blues, and blacks
Style: formal, semi-formal, high-quality fabric, "Rebecca Taylor dresses", never casual, hinting subtle allure
Makeup: must include some color for lips, all shades of red
Life stage: mid-20s, remote job, IT
Features: black hair, darkest brown eyes, fair skin, cool-undertone, Asian
Yes to part 2! This was great!
Part 2 is up 👍🏻
I’d love to see more examples like this because I’m still very much struggling.
Part 2 is out tomorrow! And I’ll add your comment to my queue for any future videos 🥰🥰
@@Gabriellearrudadesign thank you so much! ♥️
Awww I loved this so much! I am binging your videos for the past 2 days after finding myself Kibbe! Thank you so much for sharing with us your acknowledgment!
I’d love love if you could design my wardrobe! 🥰
I am a:
- Flamboyant Gamine, with romantic, classic and ingenue essences and soft autumn colour palette
- Stay at home mom that is usually on the move, doing groceries, going to the playground, playing and baking
- Even though I’m a stay at home mom I love to be put together, being feminine, a bit elegant but welcoming, which I think my curly hair helps with that
- Most of my wardrobe has mostly midi skirts and dresses and I have two pair of mom jeans haha (I think jeans makes my body movements stiff)
- love most outfits of Marylin Monroe, Ballerina flats, old Hollywood outfits, but also women in dresses who lives in a farm
Hope I’m chosen to the part 2 😍
Great video! I enjoy how you break things down and lay out the process.
my favourite intro so far!
😅 ha im so glad!
Thanks for all you do!
ah I'm so glad you liked it! and thank you for contributing your style answers!
Seasonal Color Palette: Light Summer (or maybe Light Spring -- I have a cool skin tone with dirty blonde hair that comes down to my shoulders and gray-blue eyes but I strongly prefer gold jewelry on me)
Kibbe Type: Soft Natural or Soft Gamine (though I am 5'6" but always appear taller so Soft Gamine might not work). My body shape is an Apple.
Essence: Natural with Classic and Romantic elements as well
Style Adjectives: confident/powerful/stand-outish, classy/sophisticated/intelligent, and extroverted/warm/friendly
I really look up to Taylor Swift as a style icon, ever since I started listening to her music when I was 6 years old.
So I would definitely include that into the in-depth ethereal video option!
I would love to see that! It all sounds like an ideal combination.
Great video Gabrielle! I would love more of these examples. It's very interesting to see how you build an outfit!
Please make more videos like this!!!
Working on a new one now!
I loved this video! So many great examples. I would love to see more.
Hi, Gabrielle! Thank you for this video. I will watch it many times, since I feel identified to many of your examples and I love your ideas.
See:
I'm a Romantic (or TR),
50%Classic30%Natural20%Ingenue essence blend,
Deep Autumn,
Plus Size.
I work from home and I want to wear comfortable, flattering, Colorful and modest outfits.
So, wow, thank you, thank you. ❤️
P.s. I choose option A. So helpful.
Love this video! Voting for more like it (with the ingenue in-depth as runner up)
My vote is for option A! I’d love to see more examples like this!
I’m late but I really hope you do an in depth ethereal and an in depth ingenue essence video eventually! I’m loving the example videos
Yesss! I loved this!! 🎉
This is amazing! I'd love to see more like this. It's helpful to see all the examples. I'm a reluctant theatrical romantic with dramatic essence. But I love boho! I have such a hard time figuring out how to wear loose dresses and big earrings.
This is brilliant, definitely a part 2 would be great
I'm soft dramatic ,angelic essence, with soft summer and my style preference is elegant, feminine with moderly warm feeling but also fary like
I would love part 2! this was so cool!
My kibbe is theatrical romantic,
I think my essences is Ethereal-Romantic (maybe a bit of ingenue),
think Birth of Venus, nature inspiriation, vivid colors, florals, pearls, fairy queen vibes, embroidery, art nouveau, dash of 30's-40's movie star/pinup. joyful, generous, bright.
I am a warm spring (pale redhead)
I like to protect my pale skin from the sun for summer wear, and I'm most comfortable in natural fibers.
I love this! I will add it to my list for the part 2🥰
omg yay!! thank you! Also I have a map that you suggested to make, maybe it’ll be helpful: postimg.cc/TLXWSWy0 if not ignore it 🤗
A. Definitely more videos like this!
Ha! Katrina is almost my double! This is actually super helpful!
Yay! I’m glad!
in absolute awe of the amount of work and info in that went into this video. incredible and so helpful. thank you!
I’m so glad!! And thank you 😊
I really love this idea! It's so helpful to see examples like this but I wish you had done a flamboyant natural. I don't usually like a lot of fn examples because they're too boho or safari themed. Could you maybe try a girly flamboyant natural-classic essence-summer pallet?
Oh my gosh, I know. I'm so sorry! As a fellow FN i'm embarrassed. Yes, I'll add this to my comment list for part 2
@@Gabriellearrudadesign thank you so much :)
Ahhhhh I have to vote C. I'm on the fence on whether I have an ingenue essence. Kibbe body type is Soft Gamine and seasonal palette is deep winter. Wondering how that can work with an ingenue essence.
a & d - more videos like this one! it blew my mind. also, i would love a video on the kibbe romantic with various essences and adjectives examples to see the variety that's possible. thank you!
Ooh that's an interesting idea too! And I'm glad this one was helpful!
You’re amazing!!! 😘💗👌
Thank you so much 🥰🥰
The effort!
your channel is so helpful.
Love this!
A! I really enjoyed this video and I’m surprised that my the example I felt most drawn to was the DC. I would love to see one with more plus size ladies too! It was very helpful!
omg, Eva is literally me thank you
Ahh this was so fun to watch!
Basically I'm v sensitive to heat and cold and I want to be comfortable at all times lol
(Style thoughts by rita is the channel iirc)
Oh yay! I'm glad it was helpful and yes- here is the deep autumn palette drive.google.com/file/d/1u9Y1D-40ycslGW6wAdloeY0vgLDhSgjs/view?usp=sharing
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Thank u🖤🖤
I'm super loving that you take all four into account (if I'm describing these right):
Kitchener essences
Kibbe body types
Seasonal color palette
Style words
(And sometimes style board and/or people who are style inspirations)
And you give great, realistic, full-outfit examples!
This might be my most favorite video on yt so far!
That’s so nice of you to say- thank you! 🥰
Great Video and so entertaining!
Thanks so much!
OOOOH that was so fun! Part 2, please!!!!
I'm working on it now!
