this tells me that, I should always travel alone, cause friends can get you into trouble.
True, sometimes the old adage..."with friends like these...who needs enemies" really does apply
Are you alive??
👏🏾I agree
Not all friends.... Sorry my Friends all Clean so ...
And I Take drugs I never try will never try and is stupid disgusting 🤮👎 and Dangerous
she was sentenced to 7 years, but released after 3. Simon was found not guilty, but had already spent 7 months in jail, and then couldnt leave the country for another 11 months. They werent even lovers, they were friends and she shat on him
She should have got at least 20 years
I didn't know she was sentenced for 7 as it said in the doc she was facing 10. And I didn't know she was released after 3. Simon did well out of it. He married a woman from Peru & brought her to live with him in the UK.
He’s lucky, I have to pay £30 for that
@@flowergirl8815 Peruvian will do anything to leave that God forsaken country, the women will married bums in America to get their greencard...
@@phil2003ashleigh LOL, cleaveland steamer eh?
that Simon seemed to be a real gentle soul..I've seen the full episode and that's exactly why she asked him because she knew he was gullible and naive..she led him to believe that she had more than a passing interest in him which was just plain cruel. Poor guy lost years of his life in a hellhole..
How many years!?
Women
Firefang 13 Except when he had nothing more to do with it then thinking he might get laid.

Did the chic not take full responsibility he looked very innocent
"9.89 kilos". She sounded angry, probably paid for 10kg.
She had quite a snotty nose, she probably did have 9.89kg but the rest was up her bugle.....
Diogenes26 More likely the 2 sets of scales used weren't calibrated the same, or someone with sticky fingers.
Cocaine sells for roughly £50,000-£60,000 per kg depending on quality in the UK. Nevertheless she just lost at least a few thousand pounds of her own money from the country she bought it cheaply from. All in shes lost a potential gain of roughly £500,000 if she had managed to get it to the UK. She must feel so many mixed emotions!
Diogenes26 ......dude he was joking lmfaooo duh 🙄
Jimi Lewis lmao
I love how indignant the woman is. If she had not been trying to smuggle drugs, she would not have someone trying on your cloths, which is the least of her problems.
atleast she didn't put the drugs in his suitcase without him knowing lmao
Either way 7 months in jail when you did nothing wrong and they had no proof you did anything wrong.
Isn’t that exactly what happened?
What she did to her 'friend' was worse than the trafficking itself.
Athame57 I agree
Horrible.
This is the first episode from "Banged Up Abroad" where I legitimately felt bad for somebody
Unbelievable arrogance from that woman!
+Bob Smith www.mirror.co.uk/news/real-life-stories/loan-shark-forced-drugs-mule-2471770
@@Markham12thcentury Uh, she was stupid enough to borrow from a thug / loan shark. And her excuse? She was depressed , on medication... and had a mortgage. So you gotta ask yourself, who would want to be with this lady? They kind of woman who breeds the babies she cannot afford and then later screams "I need affordable housing !" and a "livable wage!"
@@sanfrancisco9661 dam the accuracy
I knew a woman in Iran who traveled to Greece with a friend. The friend left drugs in her backpack and was caught by the Greeks. She was in prison for many months and lost tons of weight, and her husband had to pay thousands in bribes and fees to get her out. It was a horrific experience. My friend only escaped because she entered customs before her friend who had drugs.
Wow how horrible ! That’s not a friend ! Can you image that happening to you! I bet it feels like a nightmare …
When was this?
I watched the documentary on NationalGeographic after watching this video a week ago..I feel bad for the guy going through all this crap for something he didn't do, wish he goes back home safe and get over it.
Simon says...... don't smuggle drugs
Don't get involved with drugs don't carry anything for anyone know what is in your suitcase before you boarded your flight
You can't go wrong if you do this
Make sure you trust, and really know who you're travelling with!
poor simon. he's a tragic combination of being extremely passive and inarticulate at once - even when he's telling the truth it's not believable. when the bust went down it was crucial that he got sarah on the same page in asserting his innocence but of course he just clammed up. doomed in many ways.
DougglesMagnificent yea theyll believe her and just let him go, youre right....
Are you alive??
9.8 kilos hahahh you know the security had fun with a .2 kilo (thats a decent amount of chowder!)
Simon Burke had to be locked up in a Peruvian Jail for 10 months, living in conditions below human standard. On top of it, he had to be on house arrest for two years before the court could hear his case, and finally be found not guilty. The irony is, at the time he was in jail, he was being told to just plead guilty so that his case could move a long faster. He could be sentenced right away for 7 years, but be later free in 3 years. The same amount of time he would have to wait to finally be acquitted of everything. That alone already is a great injustice. He did not deserve to stay 1 minute in any jail since no drugs were ever found on his belongings. Yet he wasted 3 years of his life, when the only crime he committed was being too trusting.
Be very careful when you travel in third world countries..
Seen this whole episode and really felt sorry for the guy Simon. He's obviously a bit slow and she took advantage of that. He got found not guilty but still did some time on remand. Imagine that happening and you know they are not your drugs, at first he probably didn't think they were hers either.
Whenever being processed out of or into a country: Expect your body to be searched. Expect anything you are carrying to be searched. Expect your luggage to be searched.
ill remember that next time im smuggling drugs. thanks 👍🏻
When selling and/or smuggling drugs it's just a question of time before you get caught.
Just seen this on TV, probably the first time I've watched 'BUA' and wanted the woman to get the maximum sentence. Sometime about her just cried out scum, and lowlife.
post2skBonline When a person is associated with drugs in any way, shape or form, that to me crys out scum, and lowlife ...
she is evil
In order to be treated with respect abroad, don't go abroad and break the laws of the host country.
plz post more full length episodes NatGeo.
where can u see the full episode ? im dieing to see it thanks
100g of yayo went missing somewhere, 9.89 kilos? hope they had a good staff night out lol!
Lmao 8 years and it’s still funny, where u at in life 8 years later?
No matter how guilty this woman seems to be, I find it perfectly inappropriate for a custom's officer to try on personal belongings of anyone, not to mention making jokes and laughing at them while they are handcuffed to a chair. If she can't act professionally in a job like that, go ahead and work for the chicken factory! You can act out stupid right next to the conveyor belt.
people from south America are one step above nigerians,
Getting caught in a foreign country is very, very dangerous.
Getting caught anywhere is dangerous.
@@jbsully2864 Yes, of course, but much worse in nations who do not have due process or constitutional rights.
I wish I could give Simon a hug.
very entertaining is there a 2nd episode?
Simon is the ultimate, friend-zoned, beta simp.
Simp or gimp
You guys would know about that.......lol
Friend zone beta simp. What happened to English
So I am peruvian and I have seen these type of things happening all the time. We are used to seeing foreigners who come to Peru to party their guts out, then running out of money, and being approached by the smugglers. However, when I saw the "2nd passport" I thought to myself: "bitch aint right". I feel bad for the guy but he should have chosen better friends.
All reconstruction except when it says "Peruvian National Video"
Thank god Simon is home now, I couldn't believe all that shit he had to go through! I'm from Milton Keynes but live in Italy. I believe she got the 10 years for trying to deny all knowledge. If you've seen the whole story you'll know what I mean.
In the most grandiose way...
"Say hi to ma little friend" :o)
Where is the full episode?
5:38- The portrait on the left adds a nice touch to the mood of dread.
never try smuggling, prisons in peru are not like the holiday camp type prisons in the uk.

thx for the update! that sux for the guy if he really had no idea of the drugs like he claimed...
I've seen this on TV, the woman still remains in a Peruvian women's jail, whilst the man is unable to leave Peru, but i forgot why, he isn't jailed though.
i couldn't agree with u more.
is there a part 2 anyone ?

Poor girl: how could this tragedy have been avoided?
Oh, I know! Don't smuggle drugs.
It could have been avoided if drugs were legal

You can see it under this TH-cam title:

Copy & paste, or type, this title into the YT search box. I used quotation marks to show this is the exact title.

PART 2!?!?
its already been on in the uk
yeah, what the heck happens? was it theirs or not? where is the resolution?
i can't see why national geographic posts videos and only let us see 5 minutes of this documentary. Maybe post the whole film in many parts..
Oh how sad for you two...NOT!!
2:53 😢😂
Was lowk funnny when she put it on
They probably should have packed the same luggage they arrived with.
It was on here awhile ago but now its been removed. Not sure why.
Positive for “drugs”
Ohhhh, that clears everything up
Yeah. Some things on TH-cam were better before, but Google have improved a lot of things too. I love the HD availability. Google have added much crap though, like the Audio Preview, all the damn after-editing stuff and so on. You know, you can post a video longer than 10 minutes. The limit is the size of the video, and the current limit is 1 GB. That's also ridiculous, because a high definition video is usually way bigger.
@jdebotte that's deep... But you right
@twoule wow thats a bit harsh
whoa
Look for this song
Traffickin by the jacka and berner
when the guy first started talking. i thought he speaking in another language.
i then realized that he just had a weird ass accent
I saw this one and at the end it revealed they're both still locked up him like a less glamorous house arrest and her behind bars
Oh she's the master mine..?
Nop 🤣
it does.....
@ACEDcomputers thank you for admitting your fail.
it wasnt theirs the lady was in debt so she made a deal with her loan shark to bring in drugs from Peru and after she met that guy she asked him if he wanted to go to Peru with her (without telling him about the drugs) and while they stopped at a Lima airport to get on another to go back to the UK but get caught in Lima, I saw it on Sunday
ok national geograpic. why am I watching a teaser for something that it is not finished. where can i finish watching this? under what name is it under?
Yes, you wouldn't want to step on her!
I would live on a beach & keep the drugs.
They would find u floating in the water not too far from off sure of that very same beach 🏝 😂
so how did this end?
Wow they are using actual footage
so what happened in the end?!?!?! ahhhhhhhh!
They want you to watch the actual episode. Which you should. Because it's great. That lady like ruins that guy's life. Tragic.
My thing with this story is that the cops would not cut the keys open and dump the content into another bag. They cut a small opening for a check and red or green tape over the small cut after they test the product. I don't believe that becouse they count how many single keys or however many was found.
So where is the rest of the story? This is stupid!
if you look at the video description you can see it's from the TV series called Locked Up Abroad season 1 episode 2
