    Hi Cyd,
    Congratulations for your videos about Citroen C1. It really help me a lot to understand my 2008 sensodrive model. I would like to suggest you to group your videos in channels by model/maker, which would help us to go straight to the specific kind. Please continue with your videos, you are Great!

      This is a remake really. And those new tech Denso plugs really are good. So I wanted to be thorough because it's the little things that rob you of power and economy. No garage will pay this much attention to detail, but if DIY owners do so, they can cut costs AND extend the life of their cars.

      @@CycloneCyd Nearly always do the work on my cars now but leave the oil changes for garages to get the service stamp. I agree too many garages cut corners and never have anyone to complain at doing your own work.
      Keep it up Sid, you do a great job mate👍

    I bought these new plugs for my C1 along with 3 new coils. The problem is the new coil screw holes are at a different angle to the old one's, but I'm assured that these are the correct coils. I just have to find a way to lengthen the electric wires to them to fit...like the video.

    Nice video, thanks Cyd. Just to add you don't need to wiggle the airbox loose if you press the ends of the wide spring clip together (clip show in your vid at 1:05) it releases the rubber section from the top of the throttle body easily, no need for lube before or after though your clip looks a bit rusty, so if that clip is tough to press by hand then it might be easier for some people to leave the rubber section on there and wiggle/pull instead :)

    • @CycloneCyd
      @CycloneCyd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @TinnoRambo improved fuel economy will be down to how the car is driven.
      We don't monitor fuel economy, but it does drive better, so there probably is a small improvement.
      My Saab defo uses less on the motorway with these plugs

    Hello from Finland, Cyd! fitted iridium spark plugs into my C1 at 221 thousand km and have done 28 thousand kms after that. The car is running very nicely, and also starting in about minus 20 Celsius wihtout any difficulties. Thanks for the video! BTW, your engine seems nice and clean. Have you done a video about how to clean the engine from the outside? My engine is a little untidy from the outside and I have been thinking to give it a good clean. Any advice on how to do that would be nice. Cheers 😊

    Hi, Great Video, thanks. Did you ever add feedback on how good the spark plugs where over standard? I've priced them up and they are 3 times more expensive, just wondered if they where worth the extra cost? Thanks.

    Great video, just one question, regarding your video on changing antifreeze,my citreon c1 when the engine gets hot the thermostat should open but the thermostat housing is connected to the bottom hose. At so. E point the bottom hose should get hot but, but mine never does, does that indecate the thermostat is not opening?

    Its so easy so to change i go the KH16TT plugs for about13 bucks for all 3 instead of nearly 120 buck for all 3 iridium ones, atleast in my country. I always measure the gap and put it at the manual settings for optimal performance, i am used to the wrong gap from factory.

  • @ianh755
    @ianh755 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It is Very important to get the part number correct on the new spark plugs - IKH16TT - and do NOT use IK16TT which do fit but have a 8mm shorter threaded section moving the spark tip up in the cylinder away from it's designed place, reducing performance and burn efficiency.

      These iridium plugs are more expensive off the shelf, but are much cheaper in the long run. You might even gain an mpg increasing the savings.

    Once I have loosened spark plugs I use a length of rubber hose to extract, and insert, them. It fits over the ceramic and removes any risk of cross threadening. Regardless I take the plugs out once a year to check them and make sure that they don't seize.

    • @CycloneCyd
      @CycloneCyd  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The hose is a good tip. Thanks for sharing.
      If reusing plugs with crush washers, only tighten 1/8 of a turn, otherwise you can end up with no crush left and problems sealing.
      A friend of mine has a Mini with its first plug change at 10 years. The plugs came out no problem.
