That's an awesome score that free gokart you are so lucky and I just wish I had it as I have a fully reconditioned 1973 250 Yamaha enduro 2stroke that I need a home for, just spray heaps of "Rostoff" or CRC on all the corroded bearing areas even some kerosene turps or even transmission oil will do and leave it to soak for a few days and you'll be surprised as it took time to get like that so you have to be patient and give it time to come right as if you rush it it will damage it 🤗 good work bro keep up the great videos that I highly recommend to my friends cheers

Should of put a tea spoon of oil directly in the sparkplug hole so the piston rings wont scratch the head it'll smoke a bit but its better then seizing the motor.
Need a lot of TLC. I picked one up for $150 and looks nearly newish some rusting on wheels but mostly shiny. Engine looks new as well. Klipper Kart all original sat in someone's garage.
I have one just like it same frame and everything we stuck a 8 horse Briggs on it, it was originally black and had same engine when it was new we repainted it red and rebuilt everything else, it rips!
Hey bud, with the up most respect, I just want to say, anytime you see build up like that in the breather/carb man just pull it apart, dont risk sucking that grap into it, and when it looks that bad, you deff know the intake, carb, and tank is going be trashed! Honestly you have several engines laying around, just put one them on and go bud, suspension swap is gong cost more than buying a used frame that's already set up. Either way, you got a hell of a deal. Also if the cyl and rings look good, that motor can be running in about hour, good luck bud!!! You remind me of my younger self with go karts!
I have made 2 seater karts out of ones just like that one before. It a lot of fab work, my advice is your time and money would be better spent on a larger kart with suspension and at least a live axle in the back.
You definitely have your work cut out for you but hey it was free so just make sure the amount of work and parts you put into it will leave you some room for a little bit of $$ on the back end if you do decide to sell it!! I wish I had room to restore one I would definitely look for a predator 212cc with a torque a vert or a 16hp Briggs something powerful and bigger tires is a must

Another Great video ....I got a so called, racing cart, off MP and the dude said it was in his family since the late 50's ,they just kept swapping engines out over the years ...the drive wheel hub is broke and I'm trying to just swap the rear wheels , and when I do , the drive wheel slides right off np but the other wheel wants to pull the axle out of the axle tube ...is that normal ?? I mean, I'm gonna go for it anyway just thought I'd pick ur brain for a sec ..thanx man ...keep the cool shit coming
I love your videos and you are a very good mechanic from what I can tell been watching since miny bike but there being rust on the magnet on the fly wheele will not make spark go away after research I know that now but still great video
The same thing happened to me on the same engine it was left outside in the air cleaner sucked in water when it rained in the intake valve was stuck wide-open I had to take the head apart and lube everything up and give it a few little tabs with a rubber hammer

just pull the head cover off and pull the valves out and clean them and put 3 in 1 oil on the valve stems and reinstall them change the oil and remove the tank and carb clean real well jb weld the small hole then put small jagged rocks in the gas tank and shake all around then dump the rocks and anything else into a bucket then put 2 parts 90% isopropyl alcohol in the tank and let sit for 20 minutes then dump reinstall tank pull carb off tank clean inlet filter tube and outlet by soaking carb in brake cleaner reassemble everything put fresh gas in and pull twice and the motor will start it will smoke for a few minutes cleaning carbon build up out of exaust after that go for a ride and that motor will run like new.

Man I built one similar to that. Put a predator 212 on there. Leave it one wheel peel and enjoy it. It will be a blast. Take the cage off as well.
That's the go cart I grew up with except we had the 1 and a half person seat. Should be about 30 years old or more. We put a 160cc gonna in it.

This thing is much cleaner than most of the stuff I “revive” just predator swap it on the quick... good kart, junk motor
Sanding the magnets doesn't effect spark at all, and if you dont believe me it's in the Briggs and Stratton test to be a parts dealer
The mag rims on that motorcycle frame are pretty rare u should restore them and sell them
