Not everyone that it's adopted hates their adoptive parents, and in somecases they can be better than the real ones! But for Netflix to asume every adopted kid hates their adoptive parents
Didnt you know? There always has to be angst between the child and parent for the parents to willingly sent the kid across the world for school. It's their main concept. Gotta love it (I hate it).
I loved how in the first episode they where like, "Huh you're a fairy. That's strange, but we believe in you, good luck in fairy school!" (I'm paraphrasing) No drama, no secrete, just support.

What bothers me about how horrible this show is, is that the original winx club had plenty of dark plot to work with! Bloom was a genocide survivor with her sister dying to save her, Aiesha/Layla was practically raised in social isolation that caused her psychological issues, Musa watched her mother slowly die, etc. All this BS they made up for the live action was unnecessary! And then they took out what was the core of the show! Friendship, love and support. And the whole 'transformation magic has been lost to us" bit was absolutely an excuse. I never watched the original series and i i don't f****** care. I didn't even know that the series was based on another. You have to look at the series standing alone. Old fans can never be satisfied anyway. But you are really exaggerating in compare the series to the original. so chill and enjoy the series as a stand-alone work.
@@panfrei5932 The show was meant to be geared towards the original show's older fans. Plus its supposed to be a live action of a cartoon. Of course people are gonna compare it to the show. Thats like telling Death Note fans to see the Death Note live action as a stand alone movie. You wouldn't understand the outrage because you haven't seen the original series. Plus the comment was exactly accurate. The live action took away the most essential parts of Winx Club when they tried to make the show"darker". The friendship and relationships, the fairy transformations(one of the most memorable things about it), outfits, powers, the loveable characters, the intriguing villians, and the world itself. The Winx Club was a fun show that centered on friendship. They changed way too much things and just kept in some of the names, terminology, and elements from the original show. A lot of us just wanted at least for the friendship element in the show to be kept but it doesn't even have that. You can enjoy the show but us fans can also criticize it for not being what it was meant to be. A darker live action of Winx Club not some Riverdale and Sabrina birthchild.
Making the Trix into one character, and not even a witch at that, was a huge "f*ck you" to the original fans. I wanted the Mean Girls theme song there so bad
I don't know why Netflix just didn't center the show around the Trix in the first place. Based on this, it would seem The Trix were exactly what they wanted in the first place.
maybe because netflix didn't need three different antagonists for the exact same purpose. also after about 8 seasons and god knows how many movies, the trix got unbelievably repetitive and boring. also WoW doesn't have the Trix but nobody bats an eye at that.

The funny thing is that the original was actually pretty fucking dark when it wanted to be for example: Bloom’s entire family being destroyed, aisha going blind and having her entire world threatened to be destroyed, techna nearly dying, the trix stealing blooms magic to raise an army of god damn darkness, and Darkar, just darkar, Naboo dying and lets not forget sky and brandon switching identities because of a terrorist threat
Political marriages, death, the truth about princesses being raised to be seen but not heard, the starving artist (Musa's mom who couldn't afford healthcare and died and the reason her dad doesn't want her to be a singer), coming to terms with being adopted, being true to yourself despite pressure from your family to be different The show does have depth, especially in the first few seasons.
Remember how Stella and Flora got their Enchantix? Stella used her own body as a shield to protect her father from a big magic attack and Flora almost drowned after saving her sister
I simply cannot care less about “Winx” Saga. I’m so TIRED of edgy grimdark teen dramas. Lets make a list of differences: They erased Techna who was an original member of Winx, Flora is not Flora but has her powers cause she is Flora's white cousin, Musa does not have music powers, Stella is an outright bitch, no wings (like wtf is a fairy without wings), the Winx Club are friends which is what makes the Winx Club the Winx Club
To be fair Techna doesn't make sense in the modern world, where she did in the early 00's when dail up was still normal to see and every device had a specific button. While these days you can do pretty much anything you'd technologically want with a phone. The magic of technology is gone. The "Terra is just white Flora" argument couldn't be more american if it tried seeing, as Flora was just a tan white person. (The whole concept of Latino's is VERY american. Unless you sign up to literal Nazi ethnic reason of "the Mediterranean race" every Latino is either fully southern European, which american ironically consider white, fully African, or a mix of any of the above with sometimes some american indian mixed in. I could go into the colonial history of the term but that'd be redundant I imagine). And considering both shows are European and Flora was based on J-Lo, a porta Rican, a place whiter than the US but with tan white people it's not weird to say Flora is simply a tan white person. Personally I take more offense that she went from a tall skinny tan women to a pale short fat british woman. Musa, I'd reckon was more a plot thing and arguably to make magic in the world more consistent. Stella was a bitch in the first season, they warmed up to each other. Which is also seen in the show, so actually cannon. The wings thing I'd argue is more made to be modern and for a more adult audience. The original Winx was made for preteen, this was made for young adults. All in all the whole show is made a wide young adult audience and for the people that go "I vaguely remember this show", not for the die hard Winx fans.
@@relo999 I don't mind the fact that Terra is fat, I'm fat and for that I like the fact that the mid/plus size community is getting representation. I do agree with a lot of your points, I'm not too well versed on flora's ethinicity, only that she was apparently based upon Jennifer Lopez and so techincally hispanic. And yeah everyone's pissed that Stella is a bitch and why everyone hates each other but the reasoning for Stella being a bitch became really clear...her mother was involved. I literally am starting to believe that everyone who keeps thinking Fate is bad hasn't either watched the whole show or didn't pay attention to the details. One TH-camr said they gave up and didn't watch the last episode, then was mad about no wings. tbh im a die hard winx fan and I loved Fate. I do understand everyone's anger at the fact that magix was a world where technology and magic coexisted and that doesn't happen here but I took that as such a minor detail in the og, it doesn't really bother me here. yeah I wish tecna would come, I'm angry about that but i think netlflix managed to pull through with expectations so far so i am sort of expecting something about her to be done in season 2. who knows. again, it's just season 1 and the girls are still developing. idk why everyone keeps getting mad that the girls are acting different. like yeah there's something called character development that the og didn't really give us.
Remember when Bloom was a fun and bubbly person who still had insecurities but did the best she could because she wasn't a tired shitty Netflix cliche?
It’s like they took the Winx name and characters, and wrote an edgy, Wattpad level fan fic. Then, by some Fifty Shades of Gray magic, it was turned into a Netflix show.
Actually it's what actually happened lol they are just using the original names but going with different stories, what has no excuse is the fact that there is no Asian Musa and that Flora and Tecna are not included.. it wasn't that hard to put them in like, they created a whole new family related to Flora but not Flora lmao
it's funny how this was targeted at the "people who watched the original animation but grew up and are now adults" but the only people I heard who actually enjoyed it are those who never watched the animation or don't care much about it and are able to ignore the Winx aspect. This could've been a decent sort of enjoyable show had they removed the name Winx and all connections to Winx and decided they are college age so the sexual and drugs crap isn't so triggering.
Thank you! I've been losing my mind because fans who keep trying to defend the show say we need to completely forget about the og cartoon but that literally defeats the whole point!!

They picked the genocide ark and let go of the rest. Dark academia vibes, but without the good parts
Exactly! I’ve seen people trying to downplay the whitewashing, especially Musa’s casting because the actress is a bit of Asian descent. But it *matters*. And actually really like Elisha, but Musa’s ethnicity is so important here that it just can’t be ignored. At least if they dropped the ‘Winx’ part of the title, they’d just get called out for low diversity...but this is blatant whitewashing. I feel like this goes hand in hand with how women aren’t allowed to like girly things, and that you can’t be powerful and confident if you’re too feminine
Piage Fabez I feel like this whole thing started with Hunger Games. Hollywood saw Katniss Everdeen and said "Alright make every female protagonist edgy and hardcore"
Which is a shame. Characters get boring if they lack variety. Mistborn does this right, as the main character (vin) has a very clear soft side for those she loves but can still kick ridiculous amounts of ass when she needs to. And in the sequel series marasi (a side character) wants to be a constable in the city because she LIKES the fancy dresses and parties. She still wants to make a difference, but she doesn't move out to the roughs (basically the wild west) to do so.
Thing is if you make girly shows feminists are gonna complain it's too girly. Make it dark and edgy and the other type of feminists are gonna complain that it's not girly enough. Reality is, they just pander to what they think is gonna work for their target audience. People, atleast in the west have this weird idea that teens are all into dark and edgy shit, which is a very black and white view of the world. I mean, as a teenager, I was very much into dragon ball z. It was dark and gritty, but fun and colorful at the same time. The outfits are UGLY, I mean like REALLY UGLY. The fact that Bloom it's just a red blob it's killing me (when in the og she wore mostly blue, bc that helped her stand out from all the fire themed fairy business), the most stylish one (Stella) wears awful jackets that doesn't follow her body shape or complement it at all, Terra's clothes are boring, not entirely bad, but very boring when they had the opportunity to make her look stunning, and don't get me started with Musa and Aisha, those two just... Wow. Aisha's got the style, her hair looks really cool and she had the opportunity of wearing really street like, baggy but cute clothes, since she is an athlete and her clothes I think were the least sexualized of the og, and even fit well in today's fashion sense, but no. Give the athlete girl a really long skirt, she'll for sure make some cool shit with it. (Having her use their swimming team uniform it's fine with me, but just don't make the uniform ugly 😩) and Musa... Musa is just another level of bad fashion. Actually the stylus is usually a stylus that works with older people like middle-aged women even if they didn’t wanna sexualism this crap sucks the dressing just sucks teenager just wouldn’t wear like stuff like that even if they didn’t wanna over sexualized them
I just had a revelation about WHY Flora was left out! So Flora as a character is very soft, kind, she is basically a pacifist, she is the epitome of femininity. That's her thing! And she really has that nurturing mother nature kinda vibe. (which as a nature fairy is totally called for) Now you might say, that the others were feminin and kind too in the original, but Stella was also a queen bee, kinda vain sometimes, Musa a tomboy, Aisha stubborn, and so on and so forth, so basically what happened? They took out all the softness and femininity from the characters...or the whole show to be more exact... So what do you do with a character whos personality is all that? If they just ereased the tropes they ereased from the others there would be no Flora whatsoever... Her personality is farther form their "edgy" concept than a dying snail in America is from climbing the Mount Everest! I hate this so much... Rant Over.
@Will N Well that doesn't surprise me, she was my favourite too next to Musa. Yes being drama free is no good anymore, having supportive friends is no good either anymore... I remember, when i was a kid, i wanted to be like them, (i loved them into my teenage years too) but with this series i hope to god no one takes them as examples...
@Will N Well each to their own :D I don't really count Roxy as part of the Winx, mostly because after season 4 she was barely seen or mentioned... Though i loved all of them, I too still have levels of preference I guess :D Also my all time favourite specialist was Helia (I mean just look at his long hair 😍)
So yes but the actual reason why is because they got a bunch of backlash because she was not an ethnic Hispanic to be specific and like yeah they gave her a minority but the thing is that they took out her minority to give her a different minority and didn’t even do it right and work out that they could make her both so everybody was pissed so they changed her from Flora to Tara and made her like a far away cousin or something like that which still doesn’t make sense because Tara should still be Hispanic
That theory makes so much sense. I remember reading an article from the guardian involving one of the head writer's of the show working on the Vampire diaries and some other grim dark teen crap.

This video just cements the reasons why I really dislike Fate: The Winx Saga. I hate the way the character's personalities were butchered. Why on EARTH would you consider changing Stella to being a completely mean and unlikeable person? The whitewashing is appalling, and really unfortunate given how diverse the original show was. Like I get making a show M-rated, but just because it's M-rated doesn't mean that you need to add in continuous and useless/needless gore, sex, drugs and cursing. Come on, seriously. Where are the other specialists? WHY IS STELLA GOING OUT WITH SKY?! Where is Faragonda, where is Griselda? The fairies not having wings, and the blatant lewd talk just doesn't suit the Winx at all. Them cutting Tecna is atrocious, especially since Tecna saved the ENTIRE dimension in Season 3 to get her Enchantix. I am glad the original episodes of the show are here on YT to watch. I would gladly watch the RAI English dub I grew up with any day, over and over again, than watch one episode of that forsaken Netflix reboot again. I don't consider Fate: The Winx Saga as Winx Club at ALL. Not all young adults like their childhood shows tainted as reboots with dark atmospheres.
Whitewashing is nothing new for Netflix; most Netflix shows race-change as much as possible, so the precedent is there. Oddly, this time they've decided to change Non-white character to white, instead of the other way around. Both are egregious, but the real focus should definitely be how loosely they decide to adapt ANYTHING. It's like they just get the writers to skim the wiki of the source material, then they warp the story to match their own unpublished stories as much as they can.
Pretty sure no young adults do. These reboots ARE NOT and I repeat NOT for those of us who grew up watching the show or extensively loved it. They’re for the people who maybe kinda heard the name before and now happen to be teenagers (or young adults that again have never actually watched the show) that see no meaning in life and comment on how much death is in everything. Basically if you liked Winx Club then this is for the little sister you told how much you loved the show (but never actually watched it herself) and is now going through a “phase” as she tells your mom (you get I’m making a point and it doesn’t matter if you have siblings right?). It’s them trying to make money off the teen to YA audience, but also wanting the free marketing that comes with a nostalgic tv show. Maybe the show made its way into pop culture or gets referenced in movies or who cares. The name is known so people see it and CLICK without having to do a ton of advertising and marketing for a brand NEW property.
After they discussed their magic system i immediately thought of a way to make a tech fairy especially since they have phones and shit Tecna could come from a clan of hybrid fairies air for electricity and earth for metal. This would have fit perfectly since she would be an outcast due to her hybrid status. So I don't know what they were doing with their time.
My thoughts exactly. I would just add that the casting is AWFUL. Stop casting actors in mid/late 20s as teenagers, if not, then make the characters older and don’t pretend that this is what teenagers look like. Plus 3 teachers in 1 school where there are probably 100+ students? Lol. The Harry Potter reference was so cringe and the texting thing too plus it made zero sense if the creators actually watched the cartoon

The original's series fairy outfits in their first season are deemed "skimpy" and "too sparkly" but we have 7 other seasons of Winx and 2 seasons of a spinoff for them to pick transformation inspiration from...including Bloomix, which makes the characters look like warrior fairies (and covers all the body skin so we don't have objection on that front). Heck, Bloomix comes from Bloom sharing the dragon flame so the other girls could transform, which would actually work in this universe. See, we can have a reason in the story so the show doesn't blow its budget all at once on having to give all fairies their wings, and get a kickass fairy outfit.
I like Tynix better because while covering them up for TV, it keeps their colors which makes me happy :) Can’t remember where that one came from, though
Will N oh, I bow down to your superior Winx knowledge! I didn’t consider their overall color palette, just their transformations, but Tynix wouldn’t make sense yet in the show. They could’ve taken the designs and shifted the colors closer to the original transformations, though. Also, I hated that they started putting Bloom in pink. Not to even mention the pink school uniforms if season six. How do you feel about the different seasons? I prefer the first three precisely because they slowly started to look more generic, Musa grows long hair, Musa and Tecna start wearing more skirts, all the frilly transformations, and the damn uniforms. Maybe there was a plot reason I just missed for all of that, but just my thoughts :)
its like the creators of this adaptation were given the source material for reference then throw all of it in the trash then let one of the producer's high school edgy kid write the script
No, the middle-aged producer wrote the edgy teen shit based on what he thinks edgy teens are like: smoking pot! Love triangles! Being obsessed with partying when you're like 16! How do you do, fellow kids?
I'm pretty sure that at least part of the reason is that teen drama is the cheapest thing you can make in life action. Try to make anything involving action and or magic look consistently good and you'll need a Game of Thrones budget very quickly. As Castlevania has shown, if you want to improve the visuals it's ironically better to animate it at this point.
Let's see: -They gave Techna the axe - Flora got replaced by someone no one cares about - Stella acts like a bitch (and not the funny kind, like the original. I still laugh at the time she threw a sax at Musa and then stuck her tongue out) - 99 percent of the cast is white - The Winx Club doesnt feel like "The Winx Club - And worst of all....THEY GOT RID OF KIKO!
I actually miss the days when teen shows had seriousness and angst, but could still be fun and campy. Buffy had a great balance of goofy humor and teen melodrama. But shows like these just feel like all angst, all the time, and that gets pretty exhausting.
We, as the audience, should break this cycle. Animation should stop trying to look for validation in live-action adaptations, be they feature-length films or a TV series or whatever you can think of - animation is its own medium that can stand on its own two legs and can do stuff you can't even dream of in live-action TV or cinema.
This is what we get for letting internet nerds call anyone anywhere having fun "cringe"; a culture so deep into ironic detachment that anything with a splash of color or whimsy is considered cringy, and even people who think it isn't still say it is to avoid embarrassment.

I think calling them teen dramas is a misnomer. They are indeed remaking teen dramas, but as adult dramas. The edge is supposed to make it more appealing to the fans of the original, who are now....old
@Ivan Valentin The only problem is Alter fans know immature writing when they see it and fate a Winx Saga is immature writing that's trying to masquerade itself as adult writing when it's really immature writing meant to appeal to edgy young adults who do nothing but whine and complain about how horrible life is Nothing about fate a Winx Saga is adult or mature
@Ivan Valentin Fate from what I have seen of it is not a mature or adult show it is a teen drama a very immature teen drama no different from Riverdale the characters are unlikable unsympathetic and annoying the villains are terrible the adults are all badly written and I know fans have complained about transformations but honestly I have watched the show right near the end of the first season and the transformation for bloom was awful you seriously call those wings The biggest problem with fate a Winx Club Saga is its main character is so unlikeable so obnoxious and so unsympathetic that the audience just want her to go away
@@naquingreen1603 I mean, have you met people between 20 and 30? Cuz I'm getting ready to leave that group and I promise, they(we?) are about as mature as this show hahahaha. Jokes aside, it's not immature writing, not that I think that's the word you meant to use. It's just edgy writing, like what teen me would have thought an adult drama should be. I don't everyone will hate this series, if you don't know the original series it probably is fairly entertaining as a school romance with magic thing. I've watched worse anime to completion, and that's all it takes most of the time. As long as people are engaged enough to watch to the end, they good. And after you sink all that time, investment bias kicks in and now you gotta watch season 2 to see if they fix it or continue the dumpster fire
What I'm getting from this is that this is like Titans. They say they're a group, a family, per say, but never act like it because they can't stand each other and are the absolute worst
isn't that a good thing? it's to create conflict. imagine being best friends from the beginning. where's the challenge and the tension? it's like even in titans, they need to OVERCOME their differences. also in titans they specify that they don't actually have anything in common. they aren't really anything alone and they are ONLY significant when they're a team. and of course since it's only season 2, they're not going to be a perfect team anytime soon...being absolutely divided at their worst would mean that they would be completely in sync at their best. if they all were perfect right from the beginning then what's the point of the story...
@@shanzehimran9324 I get you, but to pull it off, they need to feel like somewhat of a team in the first place. Titans never felt like a team. They split up every time before they start feeling like one, but the Titans are never actually formed, except by the very end of season 2, which has too many characters to handle at that point. They had to focus more on the characters they started with first to form a at least somewhat of a family, so each character could get more character development as a team, then add more characters later on. But they skipped right to adding more and more characters. They're rushing the development, but dragging the plot at the same time. As a result, by the end of season 2, Raven's speech to the mind controlled Beast Boy felt like...nothing, because nothing that she said was backed by any experience we've seen before, and Deathstroke, the villain that was hyped to max, got whacked in the first 5-10 minutes of the finale in a poorly edited fight scene with too many cuts. I hope the third time is the charm and they hired new writers to handle it better, but since they seem to be hyping up Red Hood already and supposedly new characters, my hope is dim.
@@diegopansini3152 yes im hyped up about red hood for sure. I just rewatched season 1 and up until the end they had enough characters. yeah they did have way too many characters at the end and I also did not understand why the old titans had to come in...because it's about the new ones. they killed off garth and donna so maybe they're working towards clearing it up?? season 1 was going well till like everyone joined in. I guess the older Titans were Dick's character development. But I do stand by the fact that they had a lot of development as a team in season 1...the original four I mean. they seemed to genuinely care about each other, even if they are kinda dysfunctional. and jason todd had to be there okay. he had to.
@@shanzehimran9324 Fair enough, I hope so. Yeah, I'm with you, Jason is definitely a highlight of the show. You know what disappointed me though? He didn't say "Light's out b***!" when he took down Doctor Light. Missed opportunity right there lol
Why does netflix assume that gen z likes dark twisted themes? Thats already our mental state we want something diffrent give us Color, Serotonin and Aesthetic 😂
I think it's done because getting actual teen actors requires you to adhere to a bunch of child labor laws, so it's a lot easier to cast adults for the role instead. Don't know why they don't specifically cast young adults, which are probably much easier to pass off as teenagers because they only stopped being teens a few years ago at most (in fact, given how the age of majority in most countries is 18, they might still be teenagers, although I'm not sure if the child labor laws for acting extend that far or not), but at least it makes sense why they don't cast teens to play teens a lot of the time.
They're all in early 20s, oldest of the main cast is 25 I believe. I think their wardrobe contributes to how old they look tho. This isn't how teenagers dress.
Transforming Winx Club into a gritty depressing "down to earth" teen drama feels like the equivalent of old newgrounds animations where they just gave Mario a glock to gruesomely kill his enemies with and call it "the adult 18+ version" "Step aside kiddo, these aren't your silly glitter fairies anymore!" - Some Netflix Executive probably.
What is even the point of making fricking fairies down to earth? Why has everything need to be "realistic" ( mind you i was a lot more like the og winx with my friends than like the edgy trope here) , can't we just have fantasy anymore???
@@nessyness5447 gritty supernatural drama is much cheaper in the set production and costume budget. All you have to do is film in a dark alley/warehouse/school and everyone wears their winter cloths. And then add stock elemental CGI effects and call it a day.
@@NightmanEX but then, if you don't want to expend the money on a fairy show, don't do a fairy show Edit: and they dared to say they were making it more mature, like, i started to rewatch the cartoon and it legit has conversations and things that sound more mature than fate. It's not that childish for a cartoon, it only needed some polishing of the dialogue and better scene transitions ( because things happen too fast sometimes in cartoons). Like, i just saw one episode have con men harrassing bloom's mother and try to burn her shop for not wanting to sell and the man they send to do it ,almost dies burned in the fire.the conversations were all in concern and talking about cslling the police, but they had no evidence so better put an alarm system etc. But i guess that is not as mature as a love triangle or calling your mother a "basic bitch"
They showed that bloom has wings, but they didn't show her fly. This feels like such a low-budget version. And where is Tecna!!!!! Tecna was a "proof" that even technology can be magic. By removing everything related to super-advanced technology, they have made this a low-budget rendition.
im guessing they wanted to avoid the y2k/technological aspect of the show (hover bikes, hovering buses, etc) and techna was basically the epitome of that
Old Winx Club *was* dark. The contrast the Dark Pheonix created against the usual happy-go-lucky palette was absolutely terrifying. It wasn't always 'edgy', but when it dropped it dropped with the weight of a lead balloon. Remember Tecna's death? Who wasn't traumatized with that. And how they handled it? Beautiful. If the show is always dark, I don't see how any of this will have serious impact, especially since creating bond with these characters is going to be... Difficult. Also: RIP Skye's beautiful hair. Influence on gay people all around the world wasted.

Shinji, Asuka, and Rei had mothers(pun non intended) train wreck of mental health problems. Through it have been shown in other media there were chances they could have been better friends in better lives.
But weren't they basically forced to spend time together? On the other hand, in an even medium sized school you can, well, avoid people you don't like.
@@harlannguyen4048 Yeah in those it became clear basically immediately that they could easily have worked out their differences, improved their mental states and become friends, especially if like in V you take them away from Nerv and give them some actual competent support and help, as opposed to an organisation that half the time is actively trying to sabotage their efforts.
Bloom just 100% believes whatever the last thing she was told. Headmistress says genocide bad? Sure! Lady you broke out of prison says genocide good? Sure! Let's immediately act on this information
I find it weird they dropped the light hearted parts of the franchise entirely, it really seems like they didn't want want do a fantasy show at all. You can have both serious scenes and light hearted stuff if done well, Full Metal Alchemist comes to mind. That show has a lot of dark scenes, but plenty of light hearted stuff too. Also I was blown away with the crap special effects. They wanted a darker fantasy setting, but couldn't be bothered to have some better magic effects for fights and deaths? It seems like there was absolutely no effort put in.
Winx itself is a pretty good mix between dark and light stuff. They tackle some pretty dark themes on the original show, people don't give it enough credit.
@@superedmundo1239 Seema that way going by this adaptations treatment of it. Live action adaptations of animated shows (Death Note, Avatar, and this for example) seems to be mostly cash grabs or done by people who don't care about or understand the source. It's a shame. Makes me wonder if instead of live action adaptations, maybe redoing older shows but with modern animation techniques and budget (like videogame remasters and remakes) may be a better idea. Might be cheaper too if they have good quality voice performances saved somewhere.
I love Winx Club, that show was my childhood, but one thing that makes me mad about Fate is this: the original show had the core story beats to be easily made into a mature show. All they had to do was emphasize the more mature moments of the story and it would of been a perfectly good mature show!! But no, they had to go and re-write the entire series with very poor ripped-off plots.
flora and stella literally died to get their enchantix. i mean the whole of season 2 with darkar was uber dark (and in my opinion season 2 is the darkest season of winx) there are dark/mature moments, all they had to do was highlight those moments. they didn’t have to make it the whole show, winx club had such a nice balance of darker themes and colourful fun. im gonna go watch winx club 😔
Something that I find strange about teen drama's is that almost across the board all of the characters are horrible to each other for no reason and are in general just bad people. Its gotten to the point that any time I watch these types of shows I just end up rooting for the evil group to win since they're at least likable.
What is even worse is that it is fairly obvious that absolutely none of the writers had friends. Cause even me who had like two friends, knows that if you are mean to others they are not going to like you. They are not going to be your friend. And most of all they will not like you back. Thankfully I think because of the major drop in netflix I doubt this will get a season 2. And also I would also doubt this is 'the most watched netflix' show. Netflix will not EVER show their metrics of views.
I REAAAAALLY didn't want it to be angsty. I wanted my old show but with more serious topics. I really thought alot of the sex shit was extremely misplaced and needless. Most sex scenes are needless. Doesnt move the plot or show character growth or anything. Its annoying. Then you have this whole white washing and removing my favorite character from the show and ugh. Annoying.
They shoehorn sex stuff in trying to be all "mature" and shit, but ironically it only shows how pathetically immature they are.Clearly they have no concept of time and place.
After rewatching 3 seasons of the original show, my take is this: it's already a teen show! I turn 20 in a month, and I still found so much to relate to. You have the genuine friendship, the believable relationship drama that's not just because of miscommunication, sexual harrasment, the uselessness of people in power / teachers, depictions of sorrow, anger and aspirations. Riven literally said that Bloom 'hangs out with lots of guys' to anger Sky in the first season. And yeah, the format of moaning and screaming at everything was a bit jarring. And yeah, some plotlines were really silly. And yeah, I did skip a few transformation scenes. I was bullied for liking this show at age 10, because my classmates meant it was 'too childish'. I lived in a poorer neighbourhood where kids grew up way too fast, and didn't have time for bright colors and handsome male heroes. But thinking back, I wish I didn't let them get to me. I wish I could have loved this show for longer. Because The Winx Club is an amazing show and it made me gay
Wow, where I live every single girl watched the show. We would fight over who's going to play as Bloom😂 It's sad when kids have to grow up too early. You're never to old to enjoy joyfull and optimistic cartoons like this, it makes us fell warm and cuddly.
I'm a 30 year old man and I love the original Winx Club! and no it wasn't just the cute girls that got me into it, the storylines, bad guys, locations, relationships, transformations and everything was great about the OG Winx Club that I still love to this day... but this reboot... how disappointing... yeah the og one was a bit silly at times yes, but it had some really dark points too, like mind controlled dark Bloom, Aisha/Layla's sudden blindness and lets not forget how the Trix straight up threw Bloom's parents into a blackhole in season 1... and yes I would love to be a fairy, being a fairy would have been a much better life, then this shitty one we normies have...
Exactly like . Why could fate not be colourful and dark. HAVE WE NOT BEEN ASKING IGINIO FOR OVER 5 YEARS FOR WINX TO BE COLOURFUL AND DARK AND NOT CHILDISH AN EDGY. IS IS SOOOOO HARD TO MAKE A DECENT SHOW IGINIO!!!!!!!!?!?!
Dude, that scene was so awful, Bloom was clearly lost and despite his double intentions Sky was actually trying to help a new student out and suddenly she goes with "oh you mean you're masplaining things to me" the scene gets even worse when it's pointed out that Bloom was actually going in the opposite direction to where she was headed.
I mean, the term itself was fine, but they literally weren't using the term correctly. It's like they heard the word exists and just thought it means literally any time a man explains something.
Yeah, me too. I cringed so hard. It's obvious the dialogue was written by some white guy in their 50s trying sooo hard to come up with something "the teens relate to"

I would’ve loved if it was a world that “appeared” bright and happy but has a dark under belly to it. Would’ve fit better with the source material. But for a teen drama it was okay.

The Fallen is literally what they called the Transformers equivalent of the pop culture concept of Judas. A Netflix cringefest He-Man would probably go with something even more eye-rolling like The Dark Lord or Skull King or whatever other Sonic villain OC the writer wants to shoehorn into the role.
Bruh, bloom's adopted parents are the most wholesome parents ever in the cartoon, why are they making it as a bad thing for being adopted???
Not everyone that it's adopted hates their adoptive parents, and in somecases they can be better than the real ones! But for Netflix to asume every adopted kid hates their adoptive parents
Didnt you know? There always has to be angst between the child and parent for the parents to willingly sent the kid across the world for school.
It's their main concept. Gotta love it (I hate it).
I loved how in the first episode they where like, "Huh you're a fairy. That's strange, but we believe in you, good luck in fairy school!" (I'm paraphrasing) No drama, no secrete, just support.

Lets make a list of differences: They erased Techna who was an original member of Winx, Flora is not Flora but has her powers cause she is Flora's white cousin, Musa does not have music powers, Stella is an outright bitch, no wings (like wtf is a fairy without wings), the Winx Club are friends which is what makes the Winx Club the Winx Club
also, no trix :(
A fairy without wings Is like an Angel without wings
spoiler: they do have wings

It's like they just get the writers to skim the wiki of the source material, then they warp the story to match their own unpublished stories as much as they can.
and that’s exactly what I did. Watched one episode turned it off and turned on the RAI English version.
After they discussed their magic system i immediately thought of a way to make a tech fairy especially since they have phones and shit
Tecna could come from a clan of hybrid fairies air for electricity and earth for metal.

Literally. Take away the names, change ‘fairy’ to ‘witch’ or ‘sorceress’ or something edgy like ‘hexborn’ and you’re pretty much done.
My only guess is that they are trying to do their own Vampire Diaries

It's their fault for not allowing them to grow up.
I remember in the show she mentioned that she was born in 2004, and as a 2002 baby who watched her being 16 when I was 7, that made me viscerally cringe.
Cuties is ok on netflix but dont you dare show a 25 year old's stomach on an edgy show, thats just too skimpy
Sirenex is basically just a jumper they could try and recreate that
Will N oh, I bow down to your superior Winx knowledge!

We, as the audience, should break this cycle. Animation should stop trying to look for validation in live-action adaptations, be they feature-length films or a TV series or whatever you can think of - animation is its own medium that can stand on its own two legs and can do stuff you can't even dream of in live-action TV or cinema.

I guess the older Titans were Dick's character development. Better than subjecting real kids to the horrors of the film industry

They showed that bloom has wings, but they didn't show her fly. This feels like such a low-budget version. And where is Tecna!!!!! Tecna was a "proof" that even technology can be magic. By removing everything related to super-advanced technology, they have made this a low-budget rendition.

Took a second for my brain to register the idea of “live action power puff girls”, and it just started mentally looping Michael Scott screaming no
The Popularity of this shows how unknown to Quality many
people are.
They just dont know whats good and whats really, really bad...
This show even constantly talked about ass-fucking? Really?
Wow. WTF. Real disgusting thing to make a Running Gag. Wow.
@@slevinchannel7589 what on earth are you talking about? I was just referencing a meme to illustrate my distaste in the idea of a live action powerpuff girls? What’s the logic behind your response to that?
some series might have potential, but ppg could truly *never* work as a live-action series.
whoever thought that was a good idea, even remotely, is clinging desperately to algorithms and gen-z nostalgia, hoping it’ll grant them their next paycheck
'There's no silly bunnies. But there's genocide...'
Pretty much the reason I watch Billiam. Oh, and my long lost childhood nostalgia, of course.
I would’ve loved if it was a world that “appeared” bright and happy but has a dark under belly to it. Would’ve fit better with the source material. But for a teen drama it was okay.
They would've never had the balls. Or the skills to pull it off. And especially not the willpower rip
Supposedly the later episodes of the animation does just that. I haven’t watched every single season so I’m unsure.
The new He-Man is gonna be all about the genocide Prince Adams family committed a billion years ago. Cringer is Skeletor’s (Except he’s not called Skeletor he’s called The Fallen or some shit) mole on the team. They all hate each other and there isn’t a single hint at the existence of a sword of power or a transformation until the last episode of the season. Orko has a meth addiction.
End of series post credit scene reveals Hordak was Orko's meth supplier all along, so they can set up another She-Ra reboot, since the first was so well received.
Why does this actually sound true.
Appearntly it's being written by the guy who did Castlevania and animated so we may get something great hopefully

I just wanted a pastel, sparkly world full of cute fashion and magic but no. We just can't have anything nice.
