I hope the third Legendary is black or white, absent of colour or such, as Koraidon is the past, Miraidon is the future and Cyclizar is the present, the Third legendary is timeless or the end or maybe the beginning time, maybe time no longer exists or something along those lines, who knows tbh
Beginning the second stage of the AI fight as it glitches out right before it settles on “Paradise Protection Protocol challenges you” it glitches to saying “A.I. Sada/Turo does not want to battle anymore”
The history class has a question where the three answer choices are “wisdom, Power, courage” and one of the picks you can buy for your sandwiches is a reference to the Master Sword.
For the Easter Egg hunters out there, i wonder if we will find a ghost girl/person easter egg in this game. That always seems to be a repeating one gamefreak throws in there.
A weird thing in Scarlet and Violet also is that the Pokemaniac Trainer class is that they reference other regions - They wear a Pokestar Studio Shirt from Unova - The vest they wear reference Kanto Pokemon with Charizard, Kantonian Tauros (which is not native to Paldea), Rhyhorn and Gyarados - They have a pouch that reminds me of either gengar or crobat referencing Kanto or Johto - The hair and eyebrows reference a substitute doll which is a nod to every region and kanto in particular cuz the substitute doll is based on the old sprite of rhydon - The shoes are very much shaped like the running shoes from hoenn just that they are green instead of the usual orange/red
Hassel mentions that there was a young dragon user who left to pursue a career in music. I'm pretty sure that's a nod to Ryuki from Pokémon Sun & Moon.
No, he directly says he was talking about himself. The full text is "There was a child in our family who was expected to stand at its head and lead it to greatness. But the young lad, rebellious little fellow that he was, ran away from home one day. He made quite the show of it, too, swearing he’d “make a living with music"! A lot happened since then, and...now he’s the art teacher and Elite Four member before you!"
I think the Diglett Statues in Galar were a reference to the Diglett Mountains in the Original Pokemon Snap, which in the same generation we got New Snap.
oh one thing i just noticed is that Sushi high roller from luminose city is actually a restaurant chain that also has one on malie city of alola and now has resturants in paldea too
I'd also argue iron Valiant in itself is a reference because it's a combination of the mega forms of Gallade and gardevoir, the poofed up dress and red blades are both big changes the megas made
Jacq's classroom (biology lab) has a small model of the beginning segment of Pokémon Snap for the n64 Salvatore's class not only references Alolan Raichu, it also has a picture of the altar of the sun from SM and USUM (during his class) Penny's room has references to the GameCube, Ds, and Gameboy on her shelf
The lion rampant is on many countries' coats of arms in that exact pose (such as my native Scotland, as well as Czechia and many others), but yes I guess it is particularly relevant with the Spanish one!
I think there’s one thing that disproves the galar protagonist theory, in Swsh they spelt Mum with a u, the British way, whereas in ScaVio, it’s spelt with an O
I had the Fancy Pattern Vivillon back in X and Y and it's so great to see it come back ^^ Also this is a Pokemon that was only distributed once in Kalos, while this form of the Pokemon is from Paldea. So another Kalos-Paldea link.
The reason Tinkaton attacks Corviknight and not Squawkabilly is that Tinkaton makes her hammer out of the bodies of steel Pokémon. It says so in Tinkatuff’s Scarlet Dex entry.
Can't wait to see your tree of life video. Can't wait to see what you do with the paradox pokemon. I have my own theories about. For example I think the future paradox Pokemon are the transhumanism dream fully realized, but that just me.
Just to point out two things to suggest our character is from Galar and are not mentioned in the video: Our character’s house is located in Cabo Poco. If you overlap the Paldean map with the Spanish map, Cabo Poco seems to be based on Gibraltar, which is part of the British Overseas Territory. Also, our mum offers TEA to Director Clavell. In Spanish culture, we tend to offer COFFEE instead. In Britain is normally Tea. I am Spanish and I live in Wales.
While not a pokemon easter egg, there's a LOT of easter eggs in IONO'S DESIGN ALONE. She draws inspiration from a LOT of sources in VTuber and Vocaloid culture, having similar pigtails to Hatsune Miku (only with clips at the end), she wears a coat similar to Gwargura's and has Gura's shark teeth, and I can't help but see her hair's Teal and Pink and think of, Teal for Hatsune Miku, and Pink for Kisuna Ai, a popular VTuber in japan.
I don't know if its an Easter egg of not but there's a piece of dialog that happens between yourself and the art teacher who is an elite four member. He says at one point he left home to be a musician. We also find out when you battle him that he's a dragon specialist. Could he possibly be Ryuki from sun and moon or related to him? Just kinda curious if anyone else thought that 🤔
I mentioned it in your Kirlia video, but Iron Valient origin could be an easter egg to mewtwo and pokemon the first movie. It says in a book in pokemon Violet, "An experiment gone wrong?!" And how it was made by a scientist to be the strongest psychic pokemon, Just like how in the being of the first movie Mr Fugi a Scientist says we aimed to make to most powerful pokemon and we succeeded.
theres a really interesting tidbit of information in the code for the game that was found around launch; toedscruel's codename actually has nothing to do with toedscruel or tentacruel but gyarados! it implites the addition of toedscool and toedscruel was actually a late addition and that magikarp and gyarados were originally going to get convergent evolutions where they developed on land instead! by the way im very excited to get my tree of evolution poster whenever that comes around! i love all the designs from gen 9 so much and cant wait to see the tree updated in full! (toby you mentioned maybe redoing the whole big video explaining each pokemon's position on the tree a while back, are you still going to do this because its one of my favourite series on the channel by a long way and ive love if it was condensed to one video!)
@Bird Keeper Toby 10:25~ There's ALSO the fact that there ARE Paradox Legendaries in a "Virizion" Future and "Suicune" Past (SV) There's a whole area in the North-East that's cut-off by invisible wall. AND a DLC potentially releasing sometime in 2023~24 Not to mention, we need the 3rd Legend to be revealed sometime, we don't have a Mythical YET, and I hope we get a new Fossil Pokémon at some point...
I realized just now that the Tera-Ghost Toxtricity might be a reference to the Death Metal genre. Makes a bit of sense since Ryme is a musician and the Ghost-type gym leader
It might be a reference to death metal, or it's just because she's the Ghost gym leader and a musician, and Toxtricity makes music. If it was a reference to death metal specifically, I think it would be more like the "bug bear" reference in Teddiursa and be a Steel type, like Bronzong maybe, or Magnezone. But maybe
There was one I noticed when your ride Pokémon gets their battle form: Penny states that if the Pokémon pressed her stomach now, it would crush her. Reference to a meme about the following Pokémon from HG and SS.
I don't know why people keep saying Tinkaton hunts Corviknight because Corviknight or Steel types steal Tinkatink's hammers, that isn't anywhere I can find. It's Pokemon that eat metal that steal Tinkatink's hammers. Tinkaton hunts Corviknight because they take any metal they can find, and Tinkatuff's dex entry says it uses the scrap metal for their nests, while all 3 use it for their hammers, and Corviknight's feathers are partly made of steel. So they hunt Corviknight to take their feathers, using the metal for nests and hammers.
Since Tinkaton hunts Corviknight, the purple stuff on tinktaton’s hammer is actually corviknight’s skin and this is even more believable because the Shiny version of tinkaton is just a regular tinkaton but instead of purple on the hammer it’s now brown, and shiny corviknights are also brown
More Easter Eggs: Herba Mystica can be shortened to HM, which is fitting as they allow you to explore more of the world Some static Terra Spawns are references, like the Fighting terra-type Lokix, which references Kamen Rider. (I mean, that species was already a Kamen Rider reference, but the fighting type seals the deal) Others are types that are strongly associated with the Pokemon, like Psychic terra type Golduck, and dragon terra type gyarados. Finizen and Palafin are a reference to Clark Kent running to a phone booth to change into Superman. It evolves at level 38, and 1938 was the year Superman debuted. I guess the dev team likes superheroes.
I don't know if this is going to sound really dumb or not, but ...do you remember the very first cave "Inlet Grotto" at the beginning of the game, where you followed Koraidon/Miraidon? if you go up to the very top exit and run a little bit to the left, you can find a weird round patch of yellow flowers - which might be a reference to Undertale??? this might sound like a big stretch, but: 1. before you find the legendary, you fall (a reference to the fallen child). 2. in the cave you can see Houndoom, who watches you when you enter the cave (also could be a reference to Flowey, who watches you throughout the game). 3. some of the columns in the cave represent the ruins where Toriel was "hiding". 4. the crystals in the cave may also be a reference to the location in Undertale - Waterfalls? 5. after you get out of the cave, you can find that flower patch. (I haven't seen a similar flower patch anywhere in the game yet, so I thought it looked a little weird. and yes, the references are scattered, but knowing that Toby worked on some music for the Scarlet/Violet and Undertale was pretty popular game, they might have left such small illusive references). p.s. Lechonk's male evolution looks a little bit like Mettaton. /j 😂😂😂
Nah, its a japanese game and Undertale isn't big enough to get an actual reference overthere. If there is a reference to undertale it's gonna be text in the english translation.
@@Snusmumrikean It's big enough to get Japan's attention to get a port of the game years after it's release, with a big notice in Japan due to it finally being translated in Japanese, so it's entirely plausible
What I loved most is that, unlike SS, these games did tell uswhere & when in the pokemon timeline they are set in. I love this because it helps connect it to the rest of the franchise, unlike gen 8 which felt very disconnected in every game.
it does not, the game doesn’t mention any continuation at all, they were just referencing previous games and that’s all Sword & Shield on the other hand clearly has information about what we were left of from Sun & Moon on Silvally/Type:Null Pokédex, where it was clearly mentionned that the Type:Null we received during post game was actually built in Galar from the stolen blueprint of Type:Full project in Aether Paradise
Also here's an interesting one in Cascarrafa in the Seguro Style store you can get the Cool Helmet in gold, which is exactly the same as the famous helmets worn by the members of the electronic dance music duo known as Daft Punk
I knew you'd pick up on Professor Raifort's design elements XD I also noticed the Galar connections with the MC, as you mentioned. IIRC, your mother even calls a cup of tea a "cuppa." And it would make sense. You start in the south of Spain, and while the starting area of Cabo Poco is based on Cadiz, that's not very far from Gibraltar, which is a British territory, and there's a lot of British expats in the Costa del Sol region of southern Spain as well. I thought it was a cool nod! EDIT: I know Team Star's bases are arranged in a way that they form the Cassiopeia constellation if you draw a line between them (making the code name of the character intentional), and I know each of the bases are named after one of the five stars that form the constellation, but that doesn't make your assumption wrong, tbh! I mean the placement of Navi in a forest specifically could make that a double reference, to Zelda and to the constellation, in different ways.
the # 40 doesnt referenced a movie, but its referencing the DLC for Scarlet/Violet because Dataminers showed that both Suicune and Virizion will have paradox counterparts for the games.
I'm hungry now coz Toby kept calling turo churro lol, the Christmas fair better come soon coz there's always a churro stall, churros are so freaking good.
you mentionned Terra Type for Grass Sudowoodo and Bug Tediursa, but what about the other one used by Gym Leaders? like Electric Mismagius Ice Altaria Water Crabominable Psychic Florges Ghost Toxtricity (this one might be Death Metal)
The only one I can really think of an explanation for is psychic Florges is that the gym leader that uses it is named Tulip, which is a kind of flower. Maybe Iono is because she's obviously into spooky stuff (she probably says "spoopy" cuz she's an egirl icon). Your picture with her after your match, you both make kinda "spooky" faces. Also, her and Mismagius are both wearing oversized headwear and she has that oversized coat, while her mon looks like it's wearing a cloak. And they're both very pointy.
Maybe I’m clue clutching at staws, but anyone else think that when the new Pokémon Glimmora is sticking to rocks, it looks a lot like the ultimate weapon in Kalos.
I noticed that too. The crystals at the bottom of the crater where they're commonly found also look a lot like the crystals that are part of the ultimate weapon. That and being found at the bottom of a huge crater I wonder if we found the ultimate weapon's impact site. It also seems weird that with all the super powerful, fully evolved pokemon that there are for some reason a bunch of Floette all over the crater... obviously a pokemon with direct ties to the U.W. The crystals and the associated Terrastal phenomenon could be a direct result of the lingering energy of its impact. Maybe the Glimmora line were some form of rock or poison type that survived the initial impact and were warped by it's energy into something resembling it?
@@BrewersNook if I remember right the weapon was fired 10,000 years ago and I believe the first date we have confirming the craters existence is 2,000 years. It's mentioned at this point like it's already nothing remarkable though, suggesting it's been there a lot longer. So while nothing is concrete it seems plausible
Given that unlike most adaman was interested in the technology and ways of the galaxy team it is possible that his decendents went abroad leading to the teacher.
Some non-pokemon related details people probably missed but I could tell because I'm spanish; 1:23 that's a (tastefully done, imho) reference to spanish painter and sculptor Joan Miró 1:50 tho that building clearly resembles the Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona, the name "Mesagoza" comes from the city of Zaragoza 2:55 that plaza is similar in concept to Sevilla's "Plaza España", which has beautiful ceramic benches for every single province of Spain (Star Wars fans may know this place as Naboo lol)
so with the reference to both the events of galar and mega salamence, i think its fair to say that sword and shield can take place in the mega timeline, but has no canon explanation for why you can't use mega evolution in those games. perhaps no one introduced it to the people of galar where as in alola, the people in at the battle tree have mega stones for sale
I have another one Toby! Penny’s hair actually might be a direct reference to Pokémon SWSH! Her hair colors are red and blue kinda the same tint as SWSH but it also references Pokémon Red and Blue! 😄
Fun fact, Tyranitar is NOT acttually a reference to Godzilla. You can tell this by looking at the number of rows of the spines on their back and their locations. It is actually a reference to another monster from a different series (a well know series owned by a different company, but, co-created by the same people basically, and both companies actually have a close working relationship), that monster had the exact same number of rows of spines and locations. The monster is a classic monster from the Ultraman series (told you its a well known series), and it is the monster, Bemular. Besides the spikes, another way that you can tell Tyranitar is more of a reference to Bemular (the original one, not the one that came out in the Ultraman manga back in 2011), is the number of fingers. Tyranitar has three fingers, Godzilla has four, Bemular has three. That said, as it has been largely known, all Pokemon have references and inspirations from multiple sources. Including Tyranitar, who most likely does take some inspiration from Godzilla, but, is more of a reference to Bemular. Also, fun fact, Groudon in the Anime uses Godzilla's roar. But, yeah, that is that.
I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but I believe that the Fury falls landmark is a reference to Ingo and Emmet. The fury falls are a set of twin waterfalls, and the artist npc standing near them questions on what they're angry about. Maybe they're angry because Ingo is still stuck in the past and Emmet is going mentally insane presumably.

2 regional forms, a new evo in gen 8. A gigantamax form.
They even had these weird cutscenes where if you sleep in your house in alola, your moms meowth wakes u up and drops an awakaning on your head (which is so funny)
Because Meowth is the anime's second mascot
When I saw the bug gym Teddiursa, Winnie the Pooh came to mind. Especially because Teddiursa has its paws soaked in honey. My inner child was all ♥!
The Corviknight thing makes more sense when you read Tinkaton's Scarlet Pokedex entry:
This intelligent Pokémon has a very daring disposition. It knocks rocks into the sky with its hammer, aiming for flying Corviknight.
What an absolute dick move lmao. God I love that line lol. I wish they gave it a better design, and shiny, but their personality and strength definitely scored them a place in my favs list
@@TheGrossDemon I actually like the design...
Tinkaton was my “Ace” during my scarlet playthrough. Don’t think I would have gotten thru some parts without her Gigaton hammer.
Playing thru Violet now, gonna try to go thru with a different team but I’m gonna have a Tinkaton on standby just in case
Cyclizar being green could be from the rainbow, roygbv. Koraidon to Miraidon, Scarlet(red/orange) to Violet. Cyclizar(green) in the middle.
I hope the third Legendary is black or white, absent of colour or such, as Koraidon is the past, Miraidon is the future and Cyclizar is the present, the Third legendary is timeless or the end or maybe the beginning time, maybe time no longer exists or something along those lines, who knows tbh
I actually thought the same thing as soon as my mum offered Clavell a "cuppa" I was like, yes, 100% Galarian!
A weird thing in Scarlet and Violet also is that the Pokemaniac Trainer class is that they reference other regions
- They wear a Pokestar Studio Shirt from Unova
- The vest they wear reference Kanto Pokemon with Charizard, Kantonian Tauros (which is not native to Paldea), Rhyhorn and Gyarados
- They have a pouch that reminds me of either gengar or crobat referencing Kanto or Johto
- The hair and eyebrows reference a substitute doll which is a nod to every region and kanto in particular cuz the substitute doll is based on the old sprite of rhydon
- The shoes are very much shaped like the running shoes from hoenn just that they are green instead of the usual orange/red
Hassel mentions that there was a young dragon user who left to pursue a career in music. I'm pretty sure that's a nod to Ryuki from Pokémon Sun & Moon.
ah I thought it was Giacomo from team star, but your theory probably makes more sense 😂
Glad I wasn't the only one who knew it was a reference to Ryuki.
@KahadiNitram Oh, alright, I forgot about that last part.
@@Kahadi oh yeah, forgot about that bit 😅😂
I think the Diglett Statues in Galar were a reference to the Diglett Mountains in the Original Pokemon Snap, which in the same generation we got New Snap.
oh one thing i just noticed is that Sushi high roller from luminose city is actually a restaurant chain that also has one on malie city of alola and now has resturants in paldea too
Yes! I was thinking about that. I completely forgot there was one in Alola too lol
For the galar nod too, at the top of the stairs into Mesagoza, there’s an npc who asks where your from and you can say Galar
I'd also argue iron Valiant in itself is a reference because it's a combination of the mega forms of Gallade and gardevoir, the poofed up dress and red blades are both big changes the megas made
Jacq's classroom (biology lab) has a small model of the beginning segment of Pokémon Snap for the n64
Salvatore's class not only references Alolan Raichu, it also has a picture of the altar of the sun from SM and USUM (during his class)
Penny's room has references to the GameCube, Ds, and Gameboy on her shelf
11:49 I’m surprised no one has mentioned that the pose Koraidon is in here is the same as the lion on the Spanish coat of arms
The lion rampant is on many countries' coats of arms in that exact pose (such as my native Scotland, as well as Czechia and many others), but yes I guess it is particularly relevant with the Spanish one!
So can we please talk about how Glimmet/Glimmora and Lileep/Cradily all have extremely similar eyes, and also imitate flowers ?
I think there’s one thing that disproves the galar protagonist theory, in Swsh they spelt Mum with a u, the British way, whereas in ScaVio, it’s spelt with an O
The image on the back of Bronzor looks like some sort of plant. After reading it's Pokedex entry, I wonder if it is a reference to the Herba Mystica?
I had the Fancy Pattern Vivillon back in X and Y and it's so great to see it come back ^^ Also this is a Pokemon that was only distributed once in Kalos, while this form of the Pokemon is from Paldea. So another Kalos-Paldea link.
The reason Tinkaton attacks Corviknight and not Squawkabilly is that Tinkaton makes her hammer out of the bodies of steel Pokémon. It says so in Tinkatuff’s Scarlet Dex entry.
Think you to everyone clicking that link int he description

Can't wait to see your tree of life video. Can't wait to see what you do with the paradox pokemon. I have my own theories about. For example I think the future paradox Pokemon are the transhumanism dream fully realized, but that just me.
Did you know that the bird on skeledirge is it’s own pokemon
Just to point out two things to suggest our character is from Galar and are not mentioned in the video:
Our character’s house is located in Cabo Poco.
I see, also do you follow any Vtubers, and the last thing I wanna say is, "a!~"
10:48 They also reference a being with hexagonal shapes in one of the professor's notes in area zero.
The card game pikachu is based on Flying pikachu seen in the opening credits for Pokemon Yellow version.
12:06 you missed a shiny espeon

theres a really interesting tidbit of information in the code for the game that was found around launch; toedscruel's codename actually has nothing to do with toedscruel or tentacruel but gyarados! it implites the addition of toedscool and toedscruel was actually a late addition and that magikarp and gyarados were originally going to get convergent evolutions where they developed on land instead!
by the way im very excited to get my tree of evolution poster whenever that comes around! i love all the designs from gen 9 so much and cant wait to see the tree updated in full! (toby you mentioned maybe redoing the whole big video explaining each pokemon's position on the tree a while back, are you still going to do this because its one of my favourite series on the channel by a long way and ive love if it was condensed to one video!)
@Bird Keeper Toby

There's ALSO the fact that there ARE Paradox Legendaries in a "Virizion" Future and "Suicune" Past (SV)
There's a whole area in the North-East that's cut-off by invisible wall.
AND a DLC potentially releasing sometime in 2023~24
Not to mention, we need the 3rd Legend to be revealed sometime, we don't have a Mythical YET, and I hope we get a new Fossil Pokémon at some point...
same with the legendaries.
Korai (古来)means Past, and Mirai(未来)means future
@@0nearmedbandit
The in-game Dex even calls them both "Paradox PKMN"
I felt like Arven was a bit of a nod to Silver, as our first meeting with him began with him looking into the window of the lab from outside.
But maybe
What makes it weird is ryme is a rapper not a death metal
Really hope to see a video on the ending of Scarlet and Violet. Really opened a whole can of worms with the lore
The Herba Mystica are a stealth pun when you realize they can be abbreviated to HM.
There was one I noticed when your ride Pokémon gets their battle form:
Penny states that if the Pokémon pressed her stomach now, it would crush her.
I like how our character is from galar. And so are other characters. The little things make it nice.
Something I like about Tinkaton's evolution is that Tinkatike's rattle is present throughout the line.
1:04 You can spin in Generation 7 too...
More Easter Eggs: Herba Mystica can be shortened to HM, which is fitting as they allow you to explore more of the world
Some static Terra Spawns are references, like the Fighting terra-type Lokix, which references Kamen Rider.
I love the idea of a tree of evolution. I also think small groups would be cool for shirts and stuff. Like all dogs or cats or stuff like that.
Rhyme may also be referencing a pokemon creepypasta with her hair, White Hand... which is hilariously fitting.
Another Easter Egg is that Clavell may also be related to Caleba from Legends Arceus
I don't know if this is going to sound really dumb or not, but ...do you remember the very first cave "Inlet Grotto" at the beginning of the game, where you followed Koraidon/Miraidon?
if you go up to the very top exit and run a little bit to the left, you can find a weird round patch of yellow flowers - which might be a reference to Undertale??? this might sound like a big stretch, but:
1. before you find the legendary, you fall (a reference to the fallen child).
2. in the cave you can see Houndoom, who watches you when you enter the cave (also could be a reference to Flowey, who watches you throughout the game).
3. some of the columns in the cave represent the ruins where Toriel was "hiding".
4. the crystals in the cave may also be a reference to the location in Undertale - Waterfalls?
5. after you get out of the cave, you can find that flower patch.
I love this because it helps connect it to the rest of the franchise, unlike gen 8 which felt very disconnected in every game.
it does not, the game doesn’t mention any continuation at all, they were just referencing previous games and that’s all
Sword & Shield on the other hand clearly has information about what we were left of from Sun & Moon on Silvally/Type:Null Pokédex, where it was clearly mentionned that the Type:Null we received during post game was actually built in Galar from the stolen blueprint of Type:Full project in Aether Paradise
@@jean-pierrebenzenique It literally mentions the Mural getting destroyed... so SV are set after Galar.
Also here's an interesting one in Cascarrafa in the Seguro Style store you can get the Cool Helmet in gold, which is exactly the same as the famous helmets worn by the members of the electronic dance music duo known as Daft Punk
I love the nod to the flying pikachu from the Gen 1 mini game from pikachu’s flying tera type.
6:05 wasted opportunity to have Gorochu as a ancient form of Raichu
love the setups they have for dlc/third legendary
12:06
There is a Shiny Espeon behind the Roaring Moon.
10:54 I believe this will be related to the strange circles on the cave floor where you can catch Salamance moon and future Gardeknight
Ahh roaring moon that’s it
12:07 did anyone notice the shiny Espeon in the background?
Yes thank you
I'm hungry now coz Toby kept calling turo churro lol, the Christmas fair better come soon coz there's always a churro stall, churros are so freaking good.
The Diglett thing makes me think that Gamefreak just has a good sense of humor :)
you mentionned Terra Type for Grass Sudowoodo and Bug Tediursa, but what about the other one used by Gym Leaders?
like
Electric Mismagius
Ice Altaria
Water Crabominable
Psychic Florges
Ghost Toxtricity (this one might be Death Metal)
The only one I can really think of an explanation for is psychic Florges is that the gym leader that uses it is named Tulip, which is a kind of flower.
Maybe Iono is because she's obviously into spooky stuff (she probably says "spoopy" cuz she's an egirl icon). Your picture with her after your match, you both make kinda "spooky" faces. Also, her and Mismagius are both wearing oversized headwear and she has that oversized coat, while her mon looks like it's wearing a cloak. And they're both very pointy.
Crabominable is probably just that crabs generally live in or around water.
And this one is a really big reach, but the ice type gym leader looks a lot like the coordinator lady in ORAS who uses an Altaria
SV Mega Timeline confirmed!!
I feel like “Galar: a history” is a play off of “Hogwarts: a history” from the Harry Potter series, since it’s based out of the UK
I didn’t even think about the Floette’s!!! If it’s not the impact crater, it’s possibly a large chunk of debris. But do the timelines match up?
@@BrewersNook if I remember right the weapon was fired 10,000 years ago and I believe the first date we have confirming the craters existence is 2,000 years. It's mentioned at this point like it's already nothing remarkable though, suggesting it's been there a lot longer. So while nothing is concrete it seems plausible
Suppose that is true, we have no set date as to its creation or true age. I think this could be more than coincidence like you said. 🤔
another fact : one of Gary’s names in the rival name selection is “Turo”
I picked up on the Galar clue and used a name generator that had a British English name option for my trainer as well as all the Pokemon I used
Squakabilly isn’t even metal so tinkaton would even bother it, tinkaton is steel because of the obvious huge hammer it has
I feel bbn like galar is one of the oldest regions. Even the guy from arceus had armor from galar, so that makes it atleast as old as that
Given that unlike most adaman was interested in the technology and ways of the galaxy team it is possible that his decendents went abroad leading to the teacher.
Tinkaton's hammer is made up of Corviknight. They harvest them from their corpses.
Some non-pokemon related details people probably missed but I could tell because I'm spanish;
1:23 that's a (tastefully done, imho) reference to spanish painter and sculptor Joan Miró
1:50 tho that building clearly resembles the Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona, the name "Mesagoza" comes from the city of Zaragoza
2:55 that plaza is similar in concept to Sevilla's "Plaza España", which has beautiful ceramic benches for every single province of Spain (Star Wars fans may know this place as Naboo lol)
so with the reference to both the events of galar and mega salamence, i think its fair to say that sword and shield can take place in the mega timeline, but has no canon explanation for why you can't use mega evolution in those games. perhaps no one introduced it to the people of galar where as in alola, the people in at the battle tree have mega stones for sale
I have another one Toby! Penny’s hair actually might be a direct reference to Pokémon SWSH! Her hair colors are red and blue kinda the same tint as SWSH but it also references Pokémon Red and Blue! 😄
Paldean Onix.. such a missed opportunity but I guess we did get a mega form with crystals
But, yeah, that is that.
dude there is a shiny espeon in the background of the roaring moon footage
I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but I believe that the Fury falls landmark is a reference to Ingo and Emmet. The fury falls are a set of twin waterfalls, and the artist npc standing near them questions on what they're angry about. Maybe they're angry because Ingo is still stuck in the past and Emmet is going mentally insane presumably.
I like how when he catches the roaring moon, there is just a shiny Espeon in the background
Another addition; the Joy-Cons do not change if you have the Scarlet/Violet edition switch; or at least they haven't for me! D:
12:06 Shiny Espeon. Neat.
You can barely hear the New Bark theme mixed in with the Cabo Poco theme
8:20 On Tinkaton, Tinatuff's Scarlet dex entry says they attack groups of Pawniard and Bisharp to gather metal from them. I think Tinkaton is doing the same thing with Corviknight.
i think its interesting that despite the fancy vivillion being the only ones in s/v both pokedex entries say they are from a “mysterious land”
Ah yes, my favourite Galarian Pokémon, Drifloon.
Yep, drifloon
1:55 oh and he's distantly related to the professor of kalos who seems to be decended from adaman as well
I always thought that Raifort and Raihan could be related. It's in their names and they look pretty similar, but idk.
