Thank you for your work and effort to put this video together for us to enjoy. Great historical information. To bad that today the younger generation don't have the interest. What I wouldn't give for finding a place like the ghost towns you visit and making it a ghost town of one. Stay safe on your travels and thanks for letting me tag along.
There is a house from Rhydlite was moved to Goldfield 2areas there then was moved to Beatty and now sit by the church it is now owned by a volunteer that works at the museum in town it was for sale many years ago and she bought it on the spot loves the house and all the history she had a great story of her house .🏆🤔thank you for this video that I tagged along with was there 2019 and 2000
Hard to believe that two railroads, nevermind one, once operated through this region of the country. Have seen period postcards of the Cook bank's interior: it was as you described, a very beautifully finished building.
Good afternoon, Mr. Wonders. Thank you for exploring Rhyolite and for producing this video to share with us your exploration. As a civil engineering graduate, I took particular interest in the development challenges of the town: the water supply, the import of supplies and mail, the necessity of a town jail, the building of structurally sound school house, and the innovative use of materials (tents, wood, concrete, bottles) for homes. Truly fascinating from a civil engineering standpoint. Well done and well researched.
What I have found that during the Depression more Gold was mined Often than Strike. Closeology was Taught by WPA or Gov. Funded prospecting education. Seen these Trash dumps around old placer ground.
The building there with glass could have something to do with telephone cell service. Those type of buildings are built outside of Denver on the hillsides and they hold cell phone equipment. I’m Not sure if that’s it but it could be I suppose. Lol
One would think after hundreds of booms and busts throughout the west that people at that time would take heed and not get so carried away with expensive construction projects. But no..
Thanksgiving 2021 I passed through Rhyolite listening for whispers of the past and found then!
Great video and history. Another place I need to visit. Thank you !
Glad you enjoyed it
I can't get enough of Rhyolite. Loved this video.
Glad you liked it. I enjoy making these videos
I enjoy all the history you bring to your videos as well as all the scenery and old mines. I love to explore.

The first time we went there was in 1975. It’s changed so much
It’s amazing! People ran from town to town to mine to mine. It must have been a really unsettling situation.
Well done, i enjoyed this & the History & all the before & after pictures & getting to see the real places on your video. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Somehow your channel popped up…and I’m immediately I’m a fan! Just wanted to say thanks for driving out to these places. THANK YOU! I’m subscribed!
Thanks so much Tom. I enjoy the whole process in creating these videos. The travel, research, editing and final product. Glad you liked it!
We were there last year. Amazing how even stone buildings could not hold up. Almost like an earthquake hit
The roof of that vault looks like train rails

How far from Las Vegas is this area of Rhyolite?
It is a little over 100mi. from LV and is only a few miles west of Beatty
