I never understood why this album did not enjoy general positive reception; it's a masterpiece and easily one of the best 5 Motorhead albums of all time. Robbo might have been an odd choice for the band at the time, but damn he gave them so much class; the atmosphere of those songs is just magic!!! I've always loved their classic lineup but this one is just another perfect band.
I was like most people and didn't like the album at first. But as time passed on i decided to give it a chance and it's now easily among my most favorite Motorhead albums. I like the fact that it's different, has a bluesy feeling, the solos are some of the very best, if not the best. If Robbo stayed in the band along with Phil i think it would have made an awesome line-up.
Bernardo A. García H. I think it’s because people were too loyal to the classic lineup. Kinda like when Phil was on guitar and dee was on drums, people still were loyal to the classic one.

Saw them in Denver about 10 years ago. So sooooo damn LOUD! Loudest concert I've ever been too. And they were every bit as good as they were loud. Unbelievably loud. So. Damn. Loud.
Thanks RickyTyger, this sounds AWESOME ! Robertson's using the same ol' Les Paul and Marshall and getting the most personal sound from the first note to the last. What a killer Blues-Rock stylist !! And Philthy's grooving like a mad dog !!
Great audio Ricky, thanks for posting this! Personally I stopped listening to Motorhead after Fast Eddie left. The band's sound changed and not playing Ace of Spades or Overkill in a Motorhead gig is just a joke. Picked them up about ten years later when they had a really stable line up with Campbell and Dee who are really fabulous musicians and complemented Lemmy's style. And they always played Overkill as either their first or last tune!
Spike Michaels That was what got Brian Robertson fired in the first place. He's a great player, don't get me wrong, but not playing classics is just not on
i think if Lemmy had of embraced Brian as the future as Ozzy had with Randy they could of kept making stunning albums such as APD,but to be fair to Motorhead unlike Randy Brian was already famous by 1978,an established superstar,he wouldnt of been easy to get along with
Second time I saw Motorhead was at Portsmouth on this tour... it never really registered that they didn't play the 'classics' because it was so loud that I couldn't really tell what they were playing... it may just have been Robbo's tone, but they appeared louder than at the same venue on the previous Iron Fist tour. Saw them again same venue 2003 and many times after until Hammersmith 2011... they seemed a bit quieter than they were in the 80s... maybe venue sound limits changed in the meantime...
In this concert he is actully pklaying one old song and a cuple frpm Iron Fist album, but otherwise, no. it is insulting the fans to refuse to play ttheir old biggest hot like Ace of spades.
Back in the days those Bands wouldn't allow the audience to film or photography, now this is the result , barely any half way decent recordings from those times.
I agree. Another Perfect Day is one of their best, if not their best ever. I was a great fan of Motorhead from buying No Sleep Til Hammersmith when it came out. I adore the first chiswick rec. LP, even the old On Parole tracks and I definitely stopped listening to the band after Killed by Death came out...........not been able to listen to any of their stuff since!
I'd say: another perfect show, were it not for the fact that Brian 'Robbo' Robertson refused to perform the title tracks of the first four Motörhead albums...but the rest is amazing!
THIS IS THE BEST METAL ALBUM EVER! thats why they called it "another perfect day". later lemmy disliked this album more and more because his philosophy was to be the loudest band in the world and make good dirty and fast rocknroll, no place for melodic and detailed guitar solos, that would stress eventual future band players. nevertheless i noticed in my 19 concerts that they rarely/sometimes played this title song. i wondered why if the hated it...?? simple: they played it when it was "another perfect day" (=they were fully satisfied with the show). unfortunately due to the complicated riffs they nearly never played the best motorhead song ever (= back at the funny farm). i heard it 2 times
HAS ANYONE A F****N CLUE ABOUT THE DATE OF THIS CONCERT ?????????????????? THANKS FOR THE AWESOME SOUND ENHANCING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Estoy muy triste y melancólico escuchando mi álbum favorito de Motörhead another perfectamente day "one track man" lemmy gracias por darme el placer de escucharte....

this has got to be the best that i seen or heard
Although many berated Robbo as an addition to Motörhead, This is one of the most under~rated albums ever. Fact is, Motorhead was actually Lemmy, Whoever had the honour to play with him became Motorhead! The only band to come anywhere near the power of Motorhead is Zeke.
Back At The Funny Farm 0:00, Tales Of Glory 3:43, Shoot You In The Back 6:56, Marching Off For War 9:29, Iron Horse, Born To Lose 13:47, Another Perfect Day 17:15, Don't Need Religion 22:14, One Track Mind 25:01, Go To Hell 30:41, America 34:02, Shine 38:26, Dancing On Your Grave 41:30, Rock It 46:17, I Got Mine 50:30, Bite The Bullet 55:37, The Chase Is Better Than The Catch 57:12.
Not much live footage of this underrated line up out there. Thanks for posting this!
This LP wos mi the first Motorhead album.. is it started my life.... and still today
My first Ever Concert Manchester Apollo 83 ~age 16 ~ in at the Deep End !
this album is the best motorhead album
Saw them in Denver about 10 years ago. So sooooo damn LOUD! Loudest concert I've ever been too. And they were every bit as good as they were loud. Unbelievably loud.
So. Damn. Loud.
Robbo added so much music to Motorhead!!!
Legends never die...
Thanks RickyTyger, this sounds AWESOME !
Robertson's using the same ol' Les Paul and Marshall and getting the most personal sound from the first note to the last. What a killer Blues-Rock stylist !!
And Philthy's grooving like a mad dog !!
Les Paul and Marshall. And tons of pedals...
He's a great player, don't get me wrong, but not playing classics is just not on
Robbo was the nuts in lizzy and he was the nuts in this band also..great stuff
That's a great audio sound you've got here.
-Damn good!!! -Thanks for posting this!!!
Thanx for this live, Robertson was a bastard but fucking guitarist...
Iron fist was the first song i heard by motorhead when i were 13.I found my beat from then on.
Another Perfect Day at 17:15. The song is so beautiful, it makes me cry!
i think if Lemmy had of embraced Brian as the future as Ozzy had with Randy they could of kept making stunning albums such as APD,but to be fair to Motorhead unlike Randy Brian was already famous by 1978,an established superstar,he wouldnt of been easy to get along with
Certainly the best Motorhead album cover! Drag FF wasn't played live on subsequent tours!
Robbo really nailed on Another Perfect Day album, but he was a little too much on the high pitch pedal live
Saw them again same venue 2003 and many times after until Hammersmith 2011... they seemed a bit quieter than they were in the 80s... maybe venue sound limits changed in the meantime...
fucking stellar performance. i never knew they ever skipped over "ace of spades" and "overkill" in concert though.
+Michael Bernfeld That is beacuse Brian refused to play older Motörheadsongs. Biran may be a good guitarist, but he is a dick.
Brian only wanted to play the new tunes...
+Anders Lindberg Very true, I saw Motorhead on that tour in Dublin and Robbo was blotto, never played any of Fast Eddie songs!
In this concert he is actully pklaying one old song and a cuple frpm Iron Fist album, but otherwise, no. it is insulting the fans to refuse to play ttheir old biggest hot like Ace of spades.
This is awesome, never heard anything live from this short lived line up--as well as my favorite Motorhead album. Thanks!
WHAT A GREAT SET GREAT TUNES MOTOR LIZZY RULES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RIP LEMMY LOVE YA 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Back in the days those Bands wouldn't allow the audience to film or photography, now this is the result , barely any half way decent recordings from those times.
The video needs to be remastered as you cannot see anything thru the fog and haze of 80s technology.
Que disco tan infravalorado el "another perfect day" lo escuché en su época y me sigue sorprendiendo.
Recorded live in at Sheffield University 9th June 1983
+MrBlackmoon2010 Thanks for the info !!!
Thank you anyway for sharing ! This show has an amazing sound. Nice to see too...
Me encanta este motorhead robertson le da un toque espectacular
Sheffield University 9th June 1983.
Deep thanks for the info
regards
@@pierrerenaud544 It looks like the cardiff fotage exactly
Awesome
Que top! gratidão parceiro
Estoy muy triste y melancólico escuchando mi álbum favorito de Motörhead another perfectamente day "one track man" lemmy gracias por darme el placer de escucharte....
Roberston was the best guitarist in Motorhead, Clark the best one for Motorhead...after them just second zone ones.
again, thanks for posting this...I went to this tour....APD so underrated...I owe you a beer man.
Gotta love the guy running on stage during Marching Off to War at 10:38
