I'll never forget the concert I went to. It was the loudest band BY FAR I ever had seen. That's including bands in suchs small venues (maybe 150 man) that I was pressed against the speakers :-). I will never forget, I stood on a balkcony at the top and my trousers legs actually moved!!!
Wish I’d been old enough to go to this. Fantastic band. I first became aware of them as a small person catching a sneaky watch of The Young Ones, just epic! On a not-very-related note, the broadcaster - Paul somebody I think - went to my school. He was invited back to speak at one of those school presentation things. The first thing he said was that he did seriously crap at examinations. The Christian Brothers weren’t too impressed, we just laughed our heads off.
They were definitely on their peak in 1981 😊
NUNCA MAIS O HEAVY METAL BRITÂNICO PRODUZIRÁ UM POWER TRIO TÃO VELOZ COMO : LEMMY KILMSTER , EDDIE FAST CLARKE AND PHILIP "ANIMAL" TAYLOR !!! CONTINUARÃO INSUPERÁVEIS !!!! WE ARE MOTORHEADBANGERS OF THE ROAD CREW !!!!

MOTORHEADACHE
Holy fuck UTV's very own Paul Clarke reporting back in 1981 on the legendary Motorhead. I wasn't even born then and this band my favourite band of all time around about 1995 when I first got into them. I swam in that leisure centre too 😆 but true shame I missed this gig. I would have went had I been around. Waited until 2001 to see them finally in Belfast again in the Ulster Hall.
Classic Motörhead! So sad to hear of Phil Taylor's passing. I was fortunate to see Motörhead back in 1981. Blew me away!!!
Am seriously jealous of you, as I was still at school and missed out by a couple of years. Saw them in 83 and 85 but not the same....,
From 1976-1981 there was no band heavier and faster than Motorhead, except this new band called Metallica, who were reared on Motorhead during that time. Long live Lemmy and Phil, the kings of loud and fast speedfreak rock n roll.
Before it was the who
I was at this gig.
Thanks for posting.
Awesome!!!
Grande Motörhead..... Grandes Tiempos...To Me The Best Line Up Forever....I`m old... sorry... jejejejeje...

Belfast, 4/1/81, Sweet Savage was the opening act.
They also filmed Sweet Savage opening set. th-cam.com/video/eZTDMwLJBmo/w-d-xo.html
I dig how there is no barrier between the lem and the blood-thirsty crowd.
I saw these guys play a small club in Huntington Beach in 1981, Ca. Saw them again in 1991 at a small club in San Juan Capistrano, Ca. As far as being the loudest band I ever heard Ted Nugent was the king of loudest band back in the late 70's to early 80's.
The opener for this gig was Sweet Savage.
