Just fyi : 32:12 "Can snake smell ?" _"No they don't have a nose"
Well, in fact not only they DO smell, but they use it a lot to track their preys.
So they have a (good) sense of smell, and even have a special organ, unique to reptiles, the Jacobson organ, that can even smell pheromones !
They use their TONGUE to catch the aerial odorous molecules and to bring them to their "palate" where their smelling organs are.
That's why snakes are regularly sticking out their tongue : they're smelling their environment to detect preys or predators.
      They're gathering information.

@@MeeshDeeReacts hope read this not many see or respond to my messages. Just by the movies you saw so far, and from the books, few things Hermione is overdone due to the writer he loved her character the best so basically, he writes her more of others lines from the book to make her smarter than she is. TO which only movie watchers thinks hes not very flawed, when she is. ONLY the first 2 movies id say is more to the book then the others. Why for movies their the 2 best due to this.
Other note from movie 1, Ron does the Troll by his own thinking not Hermiones help, he also tells Hermione your a witch or not, showing hes the least panic one of all 3. She panics over the devils snare to think she cant do fire without a match, which leads Ron to saying tha. He also if noticed tried to jinx Malfoy when he insulted her, this is what you though few watchers noticed in this., though books do better at it. ALso Ron's biggest fear is spiders, for when he was young his brother turned his teddybear into a spider.
Though Ron in all these movies gets basically castrated from how brave and loyal he is in the books, never think hes a blundering idiot. He has what many boys have and girls too doubt in themselves, he has a popular sister, brother 5 of them if correct that are either popular or very gifted. He is seen as a runt, in the books its said that Mrs Weasley wanted a daughter when Ron was born, so he feels unwanted she also though accident of all the kids, forgets he hates Marroon, and cornbeef, so he is lanky freckled in the book he sees himself as ugly and not good enough, but as from Chess, and being brave to die for his friends loyality and bravery is in him, he took the slugs for her, in the forest in the book he looks towards the castle , saying to Harry no lets go in the forest for Hermione. Thus as hints .. your getting warmer when you said he likes her. But she is just like him book Hermione is a nerd average look, buck teeth bushy hair she dont see herself as beautiful even in the books she says i am not beautiful so dont say it, doubting her looks, same as Ron, she is smart for she is muggleborn and needs to be smart to fit in so ... Think the same of Ron Hermione, to average looks 2 feelings of doubts in 2 different ways. To ashaemd to admit. What you know is there. :) To me that is a good story telling and your only on 2.

FunFact: Snakes smell with thier tounges. That's why they're always sticking them out. They stick it out to catch particles and then pull it back in and put into an organ in roof of thier mouth called a Jacobson's Organ, which "reads" the particles and that's how they smell.
But that basilisk wasn't doing that, so maybe it doesn't have as a good sense of "smell" like other snakes.

Part of the sad reality of a film series that has older actors. We lose them. The actors who portayed Snape (Alan Rickman) and Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane) have passed, as well as both actors who portrayed Dumbledore. Richard Harris played him in the 1st 2 films and then Michael Gambon played the rest of the series. Gambon sadly passed I believe this past September. Harris passed just prior to this film opening in the U.S.

Magic in Harry Potter is genetic in origin. There is a magic gene that all people who use magic possess, but sometimes this gene can become recessive, leading to what is called a 'Squib' or a person with magic parents but no ability in magic themselves. Hermione is a muggleborn, so she had a Squib ancestor who married into regular muggles, and then she won the genetic lottery and had the magic gene come to the forefront, giving her powers.
And as far as blood status, they are as follows.
-Pureblood- all four grandparents are wizards
-Halfblood- one parent is muggle/muggleborn and the other a pureblood or halfblood
-Muggleborn- both parents are muggles. Mudblood is a slur.

    • @mimmo4762
      @mimmo4762 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

not really. You need both magical parents to be considered a pureblood by most of the magic world, not grandparents. Unfortunately, racists like the Malfoys do not consider muggleborn as wizard at all, so if one of your parent is a muggleborn, they consider him/her as a muggle and you as a halfblood. The point is that by this definition you need all pure wizard grandparents to be considered a pureblood by them, but - for this reason - they too need to be purebloods so all your grand grandparents need to be purebloods too, and so on. Except, there is no wizard with such a family tree, so those racist families just blatanly lie about their ancestors.
Anyway, Tom Riddle IS a halfblood, and he is so ashamed of it that he forged another identity for himself.

@@mimmo4762 I don't really think people who doesn't care about blood status care about how to define pure-blood. Only families who obsess over blood purity care, and so far the only used definition I've seen is if both of your grandparents *and* both of your parents are magic (this last clause is important because if one of your parents is a squib, you won't be considered pure-blood).

Mudblood is a slur only used for wizards and witches who have no magical parents/family like hermione...no one in her family has magic. Harry has a dad who is 100% from a wizards family, and his mom is a witch like hermione with no magical family such as the dursleys. That's why he is considered a halfblood. The same for voldermort i don't want to spoil anything but so far what has been told to you guys is that his dad is a full muggle no magic what so ever and he made no mention of his mom although if he is their hier of slytherin it make sense to assume his mom was a full witch with a magical family.

Voldemorts father was a muggle named Tom Riddle who was the son of a local muggle Nobleman, his mother was Merope Gaunt, her father was Marvolo Gaunt and the Gaunt family tree could be traced back to Salazar Slytherin. Merope fell in love with Tom Sr but he didn't love her back so she used a love potion on him to get him to marry her. He abandoned her after she got pregnant and she died after giving birth to him. This is why he has no faith in love and thinks death is the worst thing ever for a magical person.

    A few words about wands:
Wands channel magic power the way pipes channel water or wires channel electricity.
The wizard/witch channels magic energy through their body and directs it through the wand.
The physical makeup of the wand (core material, wood used, length) adds certain properties to the wand that can affect the magic expressed through it as well as affect the wizard or witch brandishing the wand.
Ollivander says "The wand chooses the wizard"; there is enough vital magical force that runs through a wand to give it a certain sentience. This means some wands work better with a particular wizard/witch than another might. The wand bonds with the wizard/witch it chooses and remains loyal to that wizard/witch, its true master.
That said, wands have pride; they will not associate with a 'loser'. Your wand will serve, support, and protect you UNLESS another wizard/witch disarms you. If you are disarmed of your wand, the wand shifts its allegiance to the wizard/witch who beat you by disarming you.
A fine point in definition: Theft of a wand is not the same as disarmament.
To disarm an opponent in fair conflict is noble, and a wand will accept the result.
But to steal a wand is ignoble, disreputable; a wand will not honor such a transfer.
And if someone tries to curse or harm someone with their own stolen wand, the wand will not only resist the attempt but crack or break rather than harm its true master.
A wand can be loaned to another witch/wizard by its true master, but there's no guarantee the wand will work adequately for the borrower. Wands work best when the WAND chooses the wizard(/witch), not when someone else does. Loaned wands are rarely a good match for the wizard/witch. Ron comes from a financially-challenged family; he's the 6th child and has hand-me-down robes and school supplies, including an older brother's wand. It has held him back somewhat in Hogwarts that the mismatch of wand and wizard has interfered with the efficacy of the magic he has tried to perform with it.
Finally, just as crossed or compromised wires can glitch and damaged pipes can affect water pressure or create leaks, a broken wand is very difficult to repair; most wizards/witches replace broken wands. Otherwise, their magic will be sub-par. In Ron's case, his magic was either ineffectual (see the partial transfiguration of his rat into a water goblet) and the rebounding of his slug-eating spell.
    ________________________________________________
The actress who plays Moaning Myrtle was in her late 30s during this film.
    ________________________________________________
No, Tom Riddle/Voldemort is NOT a 'mudblood', not a muggleborn.
    He's a half-blood.
His father was a muggle, but his mother was a witch.
    He has magical ancestry.
In fact, his magical ancestry can be traced back through his mother to the great Salazar Slytherin; Tom/Voldemort is Salazar's heir.

In the wizarding world "mudblood" is a degrading term, the word you often hear in polite conversation is "muggleborn". A muggleborn has two nonmagical parents, while a "pure-blood" has two magical parents. When someone has one magical and one non magical parent, they are considered "half blood."
Fun fact: Most Wizards are half blood. If wizards didn't marry muggles they'd be in danger of going extinct. A lot of the remaining pure blood lines all have connections to each other. As a lot of them had to have inter house marriages to keep the blood pure.

Tom Marvolo Riddle is a combination of his father's and his grandfather's name. Tom Riddle was the name of his father and Marvolo Gaunt the name of his grandfather. The Gaunts are descendants of Salazar Slytherin. Lord Voldemort is the last in the line and the heir of Slytherin. He is a Half-Blood, like Harry is one as well, because his Mum was a witch and his Dad a muggle.

First of all I didn't even realize that u started Harry Potter 😅😅. Like I'm subscribed but this didn't come on my feed. But regardless ur going to love the movies.
The Harry Potter movie adaptations are probably one of the better books to movies adaptions.
I have a bunch of stuff I wanna say.
    • Dobby is precious 🥺. U will grow to love him the more u get into the movies.
    • Dobby physically cannot tell Harry the full plot. He is bound by magic not to divulge his master's (Lucius Malfoy's) secrets. Even telling Harry as much as he did compelled Dobby to seriously injure himself as punishment, divulging everything may very well have killed him.
    • In the book, Arthur Weasley (Ron's dad) & Lucius Malfoy have a literal fist fight in the bookshop after Malfoy's taunting. It's all a ploy of Malfoy's of course, he needed a distraction to slip the diary into Ginny's cauldron. She was directly targeted by the way, part of Malfoy's plan was to discredit Arthur so as to block new, muggle-friendly legislation Arthur was championing at the Ministry.
    • Taking the car is probably the most stupid decision anyone makes in all 7 books. Harry literally has an owl. All they needed to do was scribble a quick note saying the gateway was sealed, address it to either Mr or Mrs Weasley & Hedwig would have had it to them in minutes. They then could simply have returned to the Weasley's house & used Floo powder to travel to Hogsmeade (a wizard village near Hogwarts) then hiked the 15mins up to the school. Not that I've thought about this a lot or anything.....
    • The blood/Magic hierarchy explained as well as I could:
    Muggles = Non magic folk
Pure blood = magic child born from magic parents
Halfblood = One magic and one non magic parent
Mudblood = magic child born from non magic parents
Squibs = Non magic child born from magic parents but can still see and interact with the magic world (still can't use it tho)
    • Now about Hermione: She is probably like my favorite character, but you should know, that in the films they made her pretty much perfect. In the books, she is great but she had her flaws like pride and getting anxious in dangerous situations. That made her feel much more real than film Hermione.
    • They also screwed Ron over, he is a lot braver in the books and actually has street smarts cause he is the only one, who grew up in the wizarding world. As an example in the books Hermione has no idea what mudblood means. How could she? Its a magical world slur. She was only one year in Hogwarts at the time. So its Ron who explains it, while vomiting slugs. Oh, and Ron is quite nicer in the books.
    • Like heres another example right here (from the book):
"D'you think I should have told them about that voice I heard?"
"No," said Ron, without hesitation. "Hearing voices no one else can hear isn't a good sign, even in the wizarding world."
Something in Ron's voice made Harry ask, "You do believe me, don't you?"
"'Course I do," said Ron quickly.
But as u see in the movie it's handed over to Hermione. SMH.
    • Brewing the polyjuice potion is probably the most impressive thing Hermione does in the entire series. That is a 6th year potion & only the best of the best 6 years would be expected to be able to brew it. It is extremely advanced magic for a witch of her age. Props to her 👏.

A little correction... Pure bloods are wizards who have magical blood on both sides of parentage going back centuries i.e several dozen generations back... There are 28 recognized pureblood families in Britain and Ireland and are known as Sacred 28.
Half bloods are wizards whose parentage is either a combination of a muggle parent and a wizard/witch...Or Half bloods can have both parents as a wizard and witch but the family magical blood ancestry on both or even one side is of only couple or few generations back.
For example if a Pureblood marries a half blood their child will be a half blood.
If a Pureblood marries a muggle born wizard/witch their child will be a half blood.
If a half blood marries a muggle born witch/wizard their child will be half blood.
If a half blood marries a half blood then their child will be a half blood.
If two muggle born witch or wizard marry each other their child will be half blood.
Only when a Pureblood marries a Pureblood then only their child is a considered a pureblood.
Even Dumbledore is a half blood despite having magical parentage on both sides.

Muggle is the name given to non-magic people. Harry's mother and father were both magical, but his mother came from non-magical parents, muggles - just like Hermione. Ron and Draco come from families where magic on both sides goes back for generations. The Malfoys and many Slytherins, refer to these people as pure-bloods; technically, the Weasleys are also pure-bloods but they would never use the term as they don't believe blood status has any value or significance. The term 'Mudblood' is derogatory, used only by people who believe blood status matters. Harry and Voldemort are both half-bloods as Harry's mother and Voldemort's father were muggle-born, the difference being that Voldemort's father was not magical. In later books, we come to learn a lot more about why he resented his father - also named Tom Riddle - so much. Sadly, the movies don't do a great job explaining it.

Fun to see your reactions to this one! Some clarifications that aren't touched upon in the movies.
    1. Can anyone just follow the Hogwarts express? Well, not exactly. Hogwarts and its transportation system is enchanted by a ton of concealment and muggle repelling charms to ensure that muggles won't find them. If a muggle hiker suddenly find themselves near Hogwarts, they will just see a bunch of ruins with danger signs. The concealment charms conceals stuff and the muggle repelling charm influence the muggle's psyche so that they won't go near wizarding settlements or places like Hogwarts (e.g., the charm will make them remember something urgent, causing them to turn the other way). If a muggle is exposed to magic for whatever reason, the ministry will deploy obliviators to remove any memory that muggle has of magic.
    2. Voldemort is not a muggle-born (or "mudblood" being the derogatory term), he is half-blood. Most wizards, including Harry, are half-blood. Pure-blood and muggle-born wizards and witches are more uncommon. A muggle-born is someone with no magic parents at all, which is why neither Harry nor Voldemort is considered muggle-born. In order to be considered pure-blood both of your grandparents *and* both of your parents must be witches and wizards. Since there are so few pure-blood families left, the families obsessed with blood status would do inbreeding in order to maintain their blood status.

36:44 It's never brought up in the movies but house elves feel great satisfaction and pride in being servants, as shown here they are actually pretty strong magically but prefer to serve witches and wizards. Most view being given clothes and released as a punishment but the Malfoys were just so horrible to Dobby it's not so much he wanted freedom as he wanted to be away from them.

  • @Rallarbusen
    @Rallarbusen 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

The kids seemingly jump in age due to the shooting schedule. Principal photography is done during about eight weeks, then its a wait for the actors for almost a year before shooting the next movie. Thus the kids don't seem to age during the schoolyear.
In the first movie, on the very first day of shooting two scenes were shot, which in the edited movie takes place about 10 months apart. The departure of the train from Hogsmeade is shot first in daylight, followed by the arrival of the train at Hogsmeade, shot in the evening.
Tricky, weather-dependant location shoots are often planned early in the schedule so that the producers have room to alter the plans. (They are shooting at Goathland station on North Yorkshire Moor heritage railway).

In the books, it was revealed that Voldemort cursed the position of Defense Against Dark Arts teacher so that nobody would last longer than a year. The curse is also well known among the wizard community, so very few people actually apply for the job. Thus, Dumbledore has to scrape the bottom of the barrel when choosing people. Lockhart's best quality as a candidate was that je didn't work for Voldemort.

Also, every time I hear Hermione say "She's a little sensitive" to describe Moaning Myrtle, I always have the same first thought: A LITTLE sensitive?"
Side note: Hedwig is a snowy owl. They have white feathers with black spots that act as camouflage when they're hunting, their wing feathers are ruffled to muffle their wing flaps so prey animals don't hear them coming (like all owls, really) and they're the only birds in the world whose feet aren't bare, due to their habitat being snowy areas, like the Arctic Tundra.

Unfortunately the movies don't do a very good job at explaining lineage. None of the following appears in the movies because the film makers just didnt think it was important enough.
Mudblood is when both of your parents are non-magical.
Hermione is a 'mudblood' because both of her parents are muggles.
Harry's parents are BOTH magical but he is closer to half-blood because harry's mom comes from an all muggle family (harry's aunt on his mom's side is who harry stays with and then the uncle is only related to harry through marriage). The term 'mudblood' could be applied to Harry's mom.
Volde is pretty much the definition of half blood because his mom, Merope, was as pure of a pure blood as you can get (she is from the direct line of salazar slytherin), and his dad was a regular muggle named Tom Riddle (Senior). Voldemort was named after his dad, who left Merope while she was still pregnant with voldemort. Voldemort later repays this act by tracking down his father and killing him (all backstory never shown in the films).
There's more to the stories but I would wait until after finishing the series if you want to do a deeper dive into the lineages of any of the characters.

His name 'Argos' is from Greek myth: a creature with 50 eyes who sees everything. Also a 'filch' is an untrustworthy Victorian urchin! You will see a Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw in the 4th film and Griffindor play Hufflepuff in the next one. There is an important Ravenclaw in the 5th to 8th films.

  • @auroralee7451
    @auroralee7451 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Just to clarify some confusion:
Mudbloods are witches and wizards who have 2 muggle parents.
Halfbloods are witches and wizards who either have 1 muggle parent and one magical parent, or 1 mudblood parent and 1 pure-blood or half-blood parent.
This makes Hermione a mudblood because both her parents are muggles. Lily Potter (Harry's mother) was also a mudblood because both of her parents were also muggles. Harry is a halfblood because his mother was a mudblood witch and his father was a pure-blood wizard. Voldemort is also a halfblood because his father was a muggle and his mother was a witch.
Mudbloods are able to exist because of what is called a Squib. A Squib is a person born from 2 magical parents, but for some reason does not have any magical powers. Filtch the Hogwarts caretaker is a Squib. Hermione and Lily Potter would have had a Squib who married one of their ancestors in their family tree. That recessive magical gene would have been passed down until it "activated" in Hermione and Lily. It would act like any other recessive gene. The Squib does not have any magical powers, but they still carry the magical gene in their blood. A Squib is basically the complete opposite of a mudblood.

You guys, Admiral Zhao from ATLA was voiced by Jason Isaacs, the actor of Lucius Malfoy😊 Quite fitting.
Also, Volddmorts Mum was a pureblood, his dad a muggleborn, Harry's mum was muggleborn and his dad a pureblood, so they're both halfbloods. When you speak about muggleborns, it's best not to say mudblood. That just feels like a slur, because it is in the books, so please don't say it. Say muggleborns instead.
Hermione's parents are both muggles, but in some people the magic appears just like that or they had an ancestor and ths magic was dormant for a while🤷🏽‍♀️ pureblood have purebloods as parents, so their lineage is purely magical. A halfblood has a pureblood for a parent, and a muggle or a muggleborn. You're also considered pureblood if it has been more than three generations since a muggle or muggleborn. 😊
