    Thank you. Totally makes sense. Should be the same on a roller gun.

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing

      Not really the same because the rubber in a roller pulls up tight against the muzzle. Rollers however, are prone to a similar problem where the shooting line sometimes gets sucked into the roller. You seldom see it because the spear will pull it out, leaving you wondering why you missed the fish.

    Thanks @RobAllenSpearfishing! I have yet to experience a muzzle wrap with my traditional RA guns, of any length. The longer rollers however semi-regularly do, where the shooting line gets trapped under the wishbone and this halts the spears progress. Its maddening!! Tips to avoid that happening again would be most helpful, if only for me!!??

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing

      This seems to be more prevalent when over powered. The vortices are much greater when the rollers spin fast and tend to first drag the shooting line into the roller then around the wishbone. This also damages the wishbone by heat friction and, affect the shot massively. To limit it, make sure it is not over powered and, pay special attention to the line tension. Even after loading, re check. A way to stop it completely is to have the spear line hole ahead of the wishbone notch. This keeps the line out in front of the wishbone and not possible to hook up.

    I'm not sure if it's necessary or not but I also run my hand along the line once it's out from under the rubbers and clear the line all the way up near the muzzle to have as much line as possible out of the path of the rubber loop. Rob, do you find the same method best for roller guns too?

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing

      Not a good idea with rollers. A roller rubber does not "jump up" creating a loop that the line can lasso. If you pull it the shooting line out to the side you can cause another problem where that line now gets dragged into the roller pulley and restricts the line from exiting smoothly. This also damages the roller and the muzzle.

      Remember those rubbers were very long and thin, made up just for the demo, not going to hurt too much if things went wrong 😝👍

    Good vid Rob. When one fires a 2 band gun with only one band loaded, on my gun I have 3 options and I wonder which you think is best, as this is the only time I get something close to a muzzle wrap. Is it best extra, unloaded rubber goes under the gun, sits on top, or another option I have is a loading tab. I’ve been using the loading tab as it helps me with sighting but I wondered if you had any input, because as I mention every once in a while I’ll get a wrap like behavior firing with one rubber loose.

    • @RobAllenSpearfishing

      I'm sure with one rubber loose and up in the location where the shooting line will pass will make it more likely to get a loop over it. I'm not sure what you mean by the loadfing tab, are you loading to rubber you don;t want powered up to a tab half way along the spear? If so, this woulds be a good idea.

    • @bluedoggum8373

      @@RobAllenSpearfishing yes. Loading 1 rubber to 100% then loading the 2nd rubber on a “rest tab” about half way up the spear. I never see people do this so I figured it was t the best but I do tend to like it instead of having the extra band “floating” and not being loaded at all. Thx

    I notice sometimes on my 120 tuna roller when i wrap my line around the line release from left to right, when i shoot it gets snagged on the lug where the roller band anchors near the handle and it stops my shot short. When i wrap around the line release from the right side of the gun to the left it doesn't seem to happen.

      All rollers reduce recoil, some more than others.
