Hey Dungeon Dad, thank you for covering an Apex of the Apexes! Not to sound disrespectful, but would you ever think about converting the 2e Spelljammers monsters like the Gammaroid (based off of Gamera), the Andeloid (think John Carpenter's the Thing), or the Spirit Warriors? (You mentioned them in a previous video, and now I know why you love them!)
Player: "Sure, Darkvision doesn't work, but what about my Devil's Sight, from being a Warlock?" DM: "Doesn't work. The dragon blinded your Patron." Player: "...Wait a second, don't you mean-" DM: _"I DON'T RECALL EVER STUTTERING!!!"_
Re-watching for a touch up on the lore; I've suddenly decided purple dragon fire being plasma based, is near invisible in daylight, but a bright blue in the dark, like a methanol flame. I can't wait to see my players' reactions when they come across a caravan on the road blackening and charring under invisible flames. Or traveling at night, and seeing bright blue flames at the impact site, radiating into orange flames as things catch fire.
How would you rule using See Invisibility or Truesight? Could you see the fire in bright daylight? Naturally you could see the obviously also under Greater Invisibility purple dragon, but what about the fire?
@@Ne1vaan That would be up to the DM, but personally, See Invisibility wouldn't work on the fire, because like a hydrogen fire, it produces such a low level of blue light, it's over-saturated by the overall daylight. Truesight would probably allow the person/creature see the flame as a black flame; you can see what I mean, to describe it to your players, if you look up 'Black Fire Experiment.' Basically, sodium infused alcohol fires in a sodium light (these were used as street lights way back; they had an orange glow) makes the flame turn black. Obviously not how it would work in D&D, but you could use that to give yourself a visual to describe. Hope this answers your question. :)
I could imagine the local lord working a deal out with a purple dragon. I could also see them making a public spectacle and selling special "safety lanterns" that could have a purple flame so that the land's "guardian" doesn't mistake you for a bandit. Raking in coin for both the noble and the dragon's coffers
This may be my new favorite D&D Dragon, hands down. And best of all: This is straight up "Ridley" from Metroid. A Dragon that is purple, breathes fire hotter than fire, Thrives in darkness, and amasses entire armies of non-draconic followers? Just replace the darkness of "Deep Caverns" with the darkness of "Deep Space", and you literally have Spell-Jammer Ridley! It's perfect!
Hah you're not wrong. Also I love how Fizbans was like " only these 15 types of dragons are Canon" and then right after that, Spelljammers added Sun and Moon dragons, proving that there are actually more out there.
Kind of reminds me of the ender dragon from Minecraft, I don't have anyone to play DND with though so I don't actually know if they are more than superficialy related.
@@universalperson True... but they are still a huge purple dragon creature with a hyper powerful breath weapon and an army of familial loyalists and fellow boss monster level best friends at their beck and call. If you want to put a Ridley equivalent into your Spell-Jammer game, Dungeon Dad's Purple Dragon stat block is a near perfect shoe-in with little to no adjustment necessary. Just swap 'loyalists' with 'Space Pirates' and and 'best friends/family' with 'other Metroid bosses' and you are good to go.
22:20 I like the idea of townsfolk mentioning the dragon's fire breath and the players being like "black dragons don't breathe fire" and just chalking it up to townsfolk not knowing any better. :)
Oh yeah, believe me Dingeon Dad alone has given me the inspiration to write a while new campaign, with a mix of non standard and standard monsters just to mess with my players.
I wish it was just Dragon Knight class. Then.. you could choose ANY dragon to be a knight for. Any chromatic, gem and chromatic. One of the main ones or missing, yet to be expanded upon. Orange Dragon Knight, Steel Dragon Knight, Amethyst Dragon Knight etc
@@odinulveson9101 or dip even heavier into purple dragons and change the class adding some kind of darkening effect of some kind or a plasma like damage
@@dr.jackbright9297 That sounds awesome! Also could you imagine an Purple Dragonborn Dragon Knight working for a purple dragon? Imagine a Purple dragonborns breath attack and resistance, not least a Purple dragonborn sorcerers draconic bloodline of an orange? Potentiale!
Man. When I first watched this video I thought "Surely, since the Plasma Spear has all these added effects, then it must deal less damage than other breath weapons, right?" but then I opened up the statblock and... oh my god. This thing can absolutely disintegrate a party if it gets lucky... I kind of love it.
hybrid vigor is horrific taking the best and most horriifc aspects of each of their parents. The social and intellectual aspects of blue, the sheer power, dominance and resiliance of red. the breath weapon lightning forged by fire fire forged by lightning both are plasma and when combined, and it burns horrifically hot.
I like the idea that the mix-up between purple dragons and deep dragons could be by design by the purple dragons taking advantage of a case of mistaken identity to spread misinformation about themselves. As devastating as they can be, being underestimated would give them an even better advantage.
well it depends on how you define on the object of their pride. also i like to think that dragons are prideful but not a fool. because i feel like some dragons would enjoy making the other sentient races look like fools stumbling in the dark while they give a chuckle.
Could also be the other way around, deep dragons spreading misinformation in hopes that potential enemies will be too afraid to fight them, thinking they're more powerful than they are
The mention of the dragon covering a nostril to shoot in a straight line combined with the concept of it being able to attack individually has lead me to the conclusion that when Purple Dragons become royally pissed off (pun intended) at a person, they huck a plasma loogie at them, which is simultaneously hilarious and terrifying.
Imagine they sneeze and just blast a massive hole through their lair lmao. Im getting an idea now where a purple dragon and its family have all come down with an insanely bad draconic disease crafted by some wizard. The region would normally be thankful, but then the wizard stepped in and is being an even worse tyrant, straight up raiding peoples homes and forcing labor and being a true evil person. Yeah, while the purple dragon sucked, at least it let people kind of live their lives so long as it benefited them. Maybe they at least had a 401k plan or something for each person. Yeah, theyre still evil and unfair, but the wizards so powerful and has such a grip on the region that itd be hard to take them on. Perhaps the players can find a cure to the illness on the purple dragons, and a deal of sorts can be made with them. We help you, you get revenge on the wizard, you leave the region and never return or exercise your control over it. OR, just rule a little bit kinder. I think itd be fun
Learning about all the dragons and seeing that purple dragons come from blue and red dragons (duh), and knowing their mating habits, all I can think is a red female dragon purposefully picking a blue male dragon as her mate just to piss off and damage the reputation of a red male dragon. Then once the egg is laid, she just fucks off, leaving the poor Dad Blue dragon to raise a purple wyrmling on his own. Even funnier if that purple dragon grows up to have the biggest mommy issues 😂
I'm sorry for the loss of your mother. In that picture, she looks like an incredible woman. Peace on her grave and in the hearts of those who loved her.
I think the most interesting thing about purple dragons is that they're the most likely dragons to end up as heads of state. Properly designed castles can serve all the same purposes as caves, they're equal opportunity employers, place heavy emphasis on familial bonds, and there's no denying the usefulness of having an _actual_ army on call. Their breath weapon also has a lot of thematic potential in numerous rulership angles; 'Evil Empire,' 'Land of Storms,' and even 'Last Bastion of Light' scenarios work with minimal tweaking.
a personal favorite recurring dragon I have in my games is the product of the coupling of a black dragon and a purple dragon. They're a rare example of a chromatic dragon not being evil, and run numerous things that players often get involved in from the background - the most obvious example being a mage's guild that is *officially* run by an archlich, who serves the dragon.
Purple Dragon Cosa Nostra sounds like such a fun time. Imagine a plothook that has you escorting a Purple Half Dragon to her wedding only to have to meet her Ancient Dragon parent offering you something on the day of his daughter's wedding for your services, honestly sounds like it'd a tense but fun encounter at first but could easily go disastrously if someone tries to decide to get too cozy with it.
Man these combat mechanics fit weirdly well with spyro the purple dragon, specifically the legend of Spyro trilogy. Where spyro is able to speak to all living creatures naturally, including insects. Purple dragons in that trilogy are also foretold to be the bringer of the world's destruction and by the end of the series spyro does legitimately fire plasma spears. TIL: Spyro the dragon thematically fits Dnd lore.
oh my god this is PERFECT for my homebrew idea. i had the idea to have vampires be created from infusing the first vampire with the blood of an infernal dragon of sorts inspired by the fact that Dracula has etymology connected with the word dragon and is literally Romanian for son of the Devil. The purple dragon works perfectly for this. hunts at night, has their lairs in the dark, manipulates others from the shadows, keeps lots of servants to fulfill its will not unlike vampire thralls, the familial connection parallels vampiric bloodlines, etc. the only thing which doesn't really connect is the plasma breath but vampires already have a lot of innate magical powers plus im pretty sure Dracula in Castlevania is able to shoot lasers from his eyes.
Hey, really sorry to hear about your loss. As to the video, I just want to say your editing style is really coming into it's own, recently I felt I could tell what you wanted to achieve, but the changes came with some hiccups, this video though felt really smooth, not distracting, but consistently adding to the presentation. Best of luck for the future
That... Kinda sounds like the End from Minecraft. A dragon, eternally protecting it's one remaining egg, unable to leave for fear of it getting damaged or stolen, yet it will never hatch.
My condolences. I lost my mother to cancer as well and though it has been a year I still am sending good vibes and hoping you've weathered these adjustment into a better situation.
Ok so hear me out, Purple dragon who is a crimeboss, their tunnels are used as "the sewers". They would probably be on the younger side but I think that would be quite fun. ... I wrote this super excited at the start of the video and it is literally the first plot hook suggestion
Make the dragon different make it a good crime boss, got kicked out for their altruism the party comes to blow with it as they both seek to help people where the dragons thinking more locally while the party aims bigger. Gives an opportunity to talk your way out. Maybe you've been framed for a crime so you can fight his whole Entourage.
Adventure Idea: Thieves guild works for the mafia of purple dragons Plot hook: Party comes across a caravan storing a purple dragon egg inside and it is being assaulted by some thieves
Good to see you back at it again, been missing your content. My own mother has been fighting cancer since I was in Middle school, so I can feel the echoes of your pain. Our family's prayers will be with you
Purple dragons were in Dragon Magazine in 1982. In 1990 my DM in Miami named Kevin introduced them. In the 90's if you did not have the book or someone you knew did not have the book then there was no lovely internet to find the info. His version was a new head that Tiamat was growing and we at 14 to 16th level in AD&D ran into one. I wish we had ran into this. This would have been less scare. It was massively huge, so strong it was burrowing through the side of a mountain to get ot us and lastly its breath weapon a line of void which was basically similar to being hit by a sphere of annihilation. FIrst time seeing you content. I really enjoyed it. Thanks!
I was JUST looking at the new starter set and thinking about how I wish you'd get to the other dragons from the Missing Dragons article after watching the Yellow Dragon video. The timing was fucking PERFECT and I'm so goddamn excited!
Orange jungle, explosive breathing ambushers in tropicals, fastest 120f per turn winged coastal Yellows AND yes Purple dragons that explore and breathe psychic discontent agains foes while its derpy cute deep dragon cousin reads intel among SHROOMS
I lost my father to liver cancer years ago and it still hurts that he is gone. Thank you for all the good you do, your videos help me be a better player and DM. Good luck and God bless.
I could see the deep dragons being decended from purple dragons but the fazerus that give drow their abilities also mutated a clutch of purple dragon eggs.
Yellow Dragons, Orange Dragons, and Purple Dragons are neat...but may I remind us all about the Pink Dragons, a species of Chromatic Dragons that is quite unique and I admittedly have a bit of a soft spot for because of how unique they are compared to other Chromatic Dragons.
Sorry for your loss. I'm glad you were able to take some time away and so many in the community kept supporting you. We're here for you. Thanks for always making great videos too! I've used a bunch of your monsters (Huecuva, Dullahan, Kurobozu, Bonesinger, Fermented mummy, Fetch) and my players love fighting them! My Dullahan even got to drag one player off with them into the night and the others had to go find and rescue him. Made for a great story beat!
Thx for making the difference between deep and purple dragons clear. i was confused about it, because the forgotten realms wiki called them the same. i also want to thank you for making these videos. i heard you are going through a tough time, so i appriciate these videos, they do really brighten my day.
Really love a horror vibe with this dragon, especially taking the elements of vision off the table. A real game changer. Also that ending was pulling on the heart strings in a big way. Happy to see you back and making videos, can’t wait for the next one bud.
i'm so glad i clicked this video. this would make the PERFECT final boss for my campaign. i only just started the campaign, but lore wise, action wise, AND map wise, a Purple Dragon being behind everything makes perfect sense. i even have a world map that has part of it blacked out which is were the cult that worships it would be. so of course the cult would be near the dragon's lair.
When you described a purple dragon with two horns and a row of spikes all the way down its back, the 90s kid in me immediately jumped up screaming 'SPYRO!'
It's good to see you back at something that you obviously have a passion for, especially after a death. But take your time getting back into the swing of things cause it can be very rough, speaking from personal experience.
To go for the obvious joke, A former prince now bard askes for help, his former kingdom is under the rule of a Purple Dragon, The party infiltrate the castle under rainstorm. (Yes, a Artist formerly known as Prince, Purple Rain Joke)
I just love the idea that the reason Purples are so damn terrifying and skilled at being a nocturnal nightmare Is because their parents raised them right, and they merrily send their child off into the world knowing they will make them proud.
Can I just say, even though spelljamers has now released official 5e stat blocks for some of the monsters you've converted, like the Braxat, or the sun/moon dragons, I still find your stat blocks be superior( more fun to run). Also if I could request you do steel dragons one day? They have amazing lore and shouldn't be left out of 5e
I’m sorry to hear about your loss :( I just discovered your channel and I’m utterly fascinated by your videos on dragons from other editions, keep up the good work! Hoping to learn more about them orange dragons soon!
What's cool is that we have Spyro who is a purple dragon himself. Spyro the Dragon is one of my favorite dragons and videogame characters and videogame series.
Very cool video. It gave me a lot of fun ideas... And sorry about your mom, man. Thats tough. I hope you're doing well now. It doesnt get better, but it gets easier. A whole year's gone by. Hope it was filled with good things.
I like the idea, that because of the spore breath of deep dragons, that deep dragons are purple dragons that got infested with basically dragon cordyceps, and when a deep dragon dies the fungus' fruiting bodies will sprout and spew spores all over the underdark, where they'll lay in wait for potentially hundreds of years for another host.
Upon hearing that purple dragons are family oriented I thought of a dragonborn warlock whose parent/grandparent is their purple dragon patron. Theres a lot of comedy potential if they're overbearing or always fretting over their "little wyrmling" but theres also so much plot stuff you can do with that. Like what if the party goes up against something to strong for them and the dragonborn dies. The party decides to deliver the news to the parent/grandparent and suddenly they have a family of Purple Dragons fighting on their side to smush whoever hurt their family. Or the dragonborn having to try and stop their family from completing some evil plan. Maybe they try and talk them down first. Maybe it works, or maybe the family can't agree and is split. Or maybe they disown the poor dragonborn and they have to fight their family. Theres a lot of fun potential. Love your vids. I'm currently falling into a bit of a D&D rabbit hole and I have no intentions of getting out for a while. Keep on doing ya cool thing dude 👍
I am so using this in one of my campaigns. I'm already excited to print and paint a dragon that matches the description of a purple dragon. Great video thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you for this. I have used a purple dragon in my Forgotten Realms campaign a while back. Now I have brought her back and she is trapped in the realm of Theros with new players in a female human form. Cheers!
Deep Dragons are a Purple Dragon Sub Species. The Underdark is very changing to the things that live in it. And with how long any 1 dragon lives. The Underdark has plenty of time to do what it does best. Especially with the difference in time between Editions. So while Proper Purple Dragons do exist still in 5Es timeline. Deep Dragons have more of less replaced them. Making them even more rare.
I mixed some other home brew stuff together and gave my purple dragon a psionic shout ability that deals force damage and possibly stuns, however I am having it be on a longer recharge (d8 or d12 depending) or once per day. Feels like a proper ability that would be used for hunting that wouldn't immediately kill the prey but allows the dragon to play with it's food by stunning it and stalking it further
I've been interested in these lads since I was introduced to them by an AJ Pickett video. It's great seeing a proper deep dive about them. Nice work, mate. 👌
Okay this video is actually extremely helpful for me! I kept trying to learn about purple dragons but all I ended up with was the conclusion that purple dragons were deep dragons and I was left unsatisfied - but your research and conclusions on purple dragons helped way more than you can know. Thank you so much!
I think it's funny that the alignment is 'typically' CN on the Ancient Purple Dragon, though I assume this sort of hearkens back to Black Dragon Fathers who are at risk of becoming good due to their parental instincts, but instead its either parent within Purple Dragons. I imagine there are good lineages of Purple Dragons because of this, making a split of sorts where it's just a bunch of bad eggs giving them a bad name.
Wait there's lore about parental instinct making Black Dragons good? Also, I'd say I'm surprised it doesn't happen to blue dragons since they also love their family - but they're also aristocrats which isn't exactly the path of good.
@@thediethrower1803 Yeah, there is, it was in older editions, Black Dragons see the Father's raising the hatchlings and doing a -damn- good job at it, so much so that their love for their children end up turning their evilness upon its head. To say the least, Male Black Dragons can become good dragons if they let it happen, their sense of responsibility and care far surpasses their Female counterparts which up and leave after laying the eggs, I believe its even why Black Dragon Males try not to have children for as long as possible... lest they open that path early on.
I just found this channel today. My condolences for your loss. For what it's worth, if this video is any indication of your normal content, then I regret nothing for subscribing from this video alone.
This video makes me wonder if there would be such a thing as a purple dragonborn, or a sorcerer with a draconic bloodline that can be traced back to a purple dragon. In any case, purple dragons are my new favourite DND creature now
Ive been running a game with the BBEG being a purple dragon for the last year so this is actually the perfect video for when my party actually gets to fight or just interact with him on a more common level. His name is mulberry and he coexists with the local government and runs black ops groups with psionics. He was mainly based on deep dragons but i really didnt like how they were just taking the psionc aspect of them. I havent read manythings really on purple dragons but somehow so much of what i had for him just fits with dragon lore, which i think just goes to show how well designed the lore of them are done. I am not sure if i will update the breathe weapon to the plasma because i do have a blue dragon corrupted by an evil fire entity that i already planned on breathing plasma. But this is so useful to me.
Losing family is one of the worst things to go through, stay strong man, your videos are some of the BEST DnD content around and I don't even play DnD (no one I know plays it)
Welcome back. I love the flavor of this dragon. As you, I count Solar and Lunar Dragons from Spelljammer 5e as different of the Sun and Moon Dragons you created for 5e. P.D.: Please, talk about the scalamagdrion.
Yesterday i presented my group a family of Purple Dragons with troll minions. they could fend of the trolls and the purple dragon wyrmlings and a young one. But as soon as the adult showed up (they lured him out of his lair after they have done a few preparations), they ran for their money as soon as he oneshottet two party members in two consecutive turns (lucky recharge rolls)with his plasma spear. No one died, but still. My players were amazed by this creature. They had a lot of fun confronting the whole issue with him. So Thanks a very lot dungeon dad for sharing this magnificient creature! Keep up your great content!
The crime family idea sounds great! My first thought was a dragon dynasty ruling an empire from a maybe secret or official underground capital. I have a little bit of lore about a fallen dwarven underground empire ruling over a bunch of human city states until those rebelled. Maybe I'll have a purple dragon at the center of it, taking over the nice dwarven tunnels as well as their human vassals. The humans I also thought of as very astute traders, so maybe them not telling their competitors not to light fires in the dark (which in their culture maybe even signals a tribute to the dragons) a s a way of maintaining a monopoly. Also for some reason I imagine the oldest purple dragon as a mixture of Walder Frey and Nicol Bolas, which is TERRYFYING
Hell yeah! I could see a purple dragon or 2 leading an enclave drow and duergar outcasts as well as other subterranean people. It even works since they're all nocturnal hunters/people that all lead raids on the surface and carving out their own kingdom in and above the earth
Absolutely incredible video! As usual! Gave me so many great idea. I am such a fan of your work. Thank you so so much for making such great content and Goodluck with the Kickstarter. So so sorry to hear about everything that has happened, do not worry about us, just thank You for being such a fantastic artist uwu
Oh man, this video is GREAT! It gave me a reason for why a region in my world has been a series of feuding fiefdoms, none ever truly gaining an advantage! It's an Ancient Purple Dragon who has nested at the bottom of the mountains and is using the various kingdoms as their play thing! It even fits into a current arc, where a necromancer is raising undead. The Necromancer has discovered a tome written by an ancient lich and wants to usurp the Purple Dragon as de facto ruler of the realm.
Actually wyverns are a type a dragon. Like a tiger is still a cat like a leopard or lion. The classic dragon is the only one with the it’s name being the same as it’s species, which is annoying for us dragonologists, you don’t see any cats being called felines or dogs called canines. Very annoying for us and we can’t fix it due to internet properganda Edit: Oh, and sorry for your loss. Hope you get through it bud.
What makes it annoying is that the game does make the distinction and follow the rules with wyverns having arm wings and being the dragon type, but not true dragons, yet the 4e purple dragon has the arm wings.
@@Draconic_Lorecraft It doesn't bother me in Skyrim since they don't also have wyverns in the game and the missing limbs are a result of time and cost constraints rather than something in universe and is more a gameplay thing. Kind of like how Whiterun is incredibly small with like 40 people, but in universe it would have hundreds of people.
@@Draconic_Lorecraft The wyvern/dragon thing is only the case in British heraldry and D&D. Folklore and other fantasy settings don't make a distinction. There's no reason Skyrim dragons shouldn't have two legs and two wings.
in really old ancient greek, drakon where sometimes described as two legs wing arms, even tho these days the name drakon has evolved to dragon but to also drake.
i feel that i just lost my grandmother to terminal emphysema on thanks giving and one of my best friends to cancer in september as well. my heart goes out to you. i love your channel it gives me tons of ideas for my campaigns. take the time that you need there is no rushing grief, and no shame if you need help with it. you seem like an awesome guy to know and sit down at a table to game with. keep fighting the good fight and take it one step at a time. cheers as much as possible from east coast usa. blessed yule
Can you do the old deep dragon later? The mushroom thing is new to 5E, and back before 4e it was a flesh melting corrosive breath. To the point where most lore people I’ve talked to just agree it’s a variant.
Just saw this video and I know it’s late but wishing you the best and rest in peace to your mother 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼sending prayers to you and your family and thank you again for all your content.
I actually using a Purple dragon in my next big game. In short She is running magic shops within the cities/countries of the realm, Think howl magic castle. while she is in disguise as a Purple dragonborn(Hiding in plane sight) she is invited to many party and royal events in order for different lords/ladies who wish to gain favor with her for magical items. Meanwhile She suggest different things on how the country should be run ect... The "small" plot twist is she running the country from behind the scenes. However i like the family element and am going to add a few new npc maybe her children or something mmm not 100% sure yet but should be fun.
Been waiting for an opportunity to use the DRAGON compendium purple dragon with my D&D group (we run 3/3.5 almost exclusively) They've already encountered the orange and the yellow dragons from there.
Hmm, interesting lore. My knowledge of purple dragons in D&D was through the category of "Gem Dragons", specifically the Amethyst Dragon. These were the neutral alignment counterparts to the Chromatics (Evil) and the Metallics (Good). Never heard of crossbreed dragons until I watched this. You learn something new every day.
While 4E did have some weird lore, usually due to the spell plague, I thank you for recognizing it So many people want to just ignore 4E lore so thank you for recognizing it and acknowledging that there are significant difference between the lore of each edition
I found your channel randomly and I am enjoying each and every one of them. Thank you for just giving away your stat conversions too, rather than charging for them in these videos. I am going to be using the Pale Night, and the Purple Dragon will fit in as well in my post apocalyptic Faerun setting.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother and I'm glad to hear that you're doing better now, and I hope you continue to move forward despite the troubles that come with the death of a family member ❤.
I hate commenting...but stay strong, I know loss is horrible. Especially during an already hard time in life. But I appreciate the content and hope youre ok man.

Adventures might also mistake a purple dragon for a shadow dragon. Those are black with purple inside their mouths.
Oh yeah, believe me Dingeon Dad alone has given me the inspiration to write a while new campaign, with a mix of non standard and standard monsters just to mess with my players.

I like the idea that the mix-up between purple dragons and deep dragons could be by design by the purple dragons taking advantage of a case of mistaken identity to spread misinformation about themselves. As devastating as they can be, being underestimated would give them an even better advantage.

Could also be the other way around, deep dragons spreading misinformation in hopes that potential enemies will be too afraid to fight them, thinking they're more powerful than they are
Normally, I'd get annoyed about the dragon/wyvern pedantry, but D&D is one of the few places where that's actually a hard and fast rule.
Lightning Loogie!

Entropy
And there's also Legend Spyro and Cynder who are a purple dragon and black dragon.
"I'll make him an offer he can't refuse."
"you come to me, on the day of my daughter's wedding..."

I agree I like Spyro and I can see Reignited Trilogy Spyro doing this.

oh my god this is PERFECT for my homebrew idea. i had the idea to have vampires be created from infusing the first vampire with the blood of an infernal dragon of sorts inspired by the fact that Dracula has etymology connected with the word dragon and is literally Romanian for son of the Devil.
💁♂️Twilight vampires have their own unique superpowers like xmen, so I think somehow working plasma into the vampire lore can be forgiven
Same! I'm running an Eberron campaign and the bbeg will be Khyber. So guess who's now a purple dragon 😂

I saw the thumbnail and was immediately reminded of Madame Mim from "The Sword in the Stone":

Actually wyverns are a type a dragon. Like a tiger is still a cat like a leopard or lion. The classic dragon is the only one with the it’s name being the same as it’s species, which is annoying for us dragonologists, you don’t see any cats being called felines or dogs called canines. Very annoying for us and we can’t fix it due to internet properganda
Edit: Oh, and sorry for your loss. Hope you get through it bud.
What makes it annoying is that the game does make the distinction and follow the rules with wyverns having arm wings and being the dragon type, but not true dragons, yet the 4e purple dragon has the arm wings.
@@indiana47 Yep, for fucking Skyrim with what they have. Drives me nuts.
