I am not a carpenter, but I am a keen woodworking hobbyist and "Do it your self'er," and I have to tell you that you certainly did a great job there. You made it look so simple, (and I guess it is really,) but a beautiful well thought out job nevertheless. I guess a lot of people will be copying your idea. Thanks for sharing it with us. Ed
Just wanted to let you know my nephew and I just built a very large one for my home business! 68"x42" to be exact. I had to do a few things different to make it work out right, but for the most part I used your way of building it. My wife and I both sat on it and held us. I being 6'4" at 290lbs. and her being around 100lbs at 5'6" That will hold anything I ever need to put on it!
Other than scaling up the wood and brackets, did you do anything else special? I need to put a drill press, small metal brake, belt sander and small band saw on mine. Thank you!
I love this fold down work bench. I'm going to make one in my camper as a dining table in my camper. Thank you for being so helpful. You are a unique person, not trying to climb to the top on the back of others but by lifting others up with you to create a money flow which in return will come back to you eventually. Thank you and keep up the great ideas!
Looks great Mrs. April, I've been arguing with my son ( typical 17 y/o ) over the usefulness of a fold down workbench. I had him watch this and he finally agrees with me. Simple yet effective.
I want to create this but with space to hang my tools behind the table top. Instead of a 2x4 for the base, what could I use to make 2 inches for the table and about 4 inches for my tools section? Any advice?
I am delighted with his way of working, simple, practical, easy, fast. It is incredible of all the tools that you Americans have. I love you Miss April, continue with these videos that are a source of inspiration for many.
I just finished building this to use as an extra workbench for my painting and frame making. Directions are great, worth getting. Thank you for putting this on here!!! A very sturdy space saver!!
Great Job, I made something like this for my 3 daughters to use for homework and whatever after the homework was done. My set up was about 6' that way each one had room to work or play, the legs were hinged and cut to fit where the wall and floor met. Brought back memories, you did a great job on the table & video, SEMPER FI
Great video April loved the look of your first fold down bench so nice to see it all explained. These look really handy for using in small workshops like mine. Dressed trendy for woodworking too, about time I got one of them Diresta hats. Keep up the great vids.
I like your old shop as it has character. I like your new TV show too. Nice of you to let Tim and Richard hang out ... great project. Works good for grandkids rooms as well.
1. Awesome Diresta hat! 2. Recently heard about you from the Drunken Woodworker and instantly binge watched your videos. Nothing is cooler than a woman with power tools!
I was just telling myself I needed a workbench for my garage but I still want to park the cars in there too. Then "poof," TH-cam gives me this vid as suggested. Looks like I've got some work for next weekend!
Very helpful. I just finished mine today. Your video helped me avoid some things that would have otherwise presented some complications. Much appreciated.
Great video! Very simple design yet very effective. Thanks for sharing! BTW, I like you video creating style. Straight to the point and very informative.
really, I thought they were lacking in just about every way possible!!! seriously I just a piece of scrap for this then measured this for that then assembled that, with out exactly saying anything about what the hell she was actually doing. if I was a beginner not knowing what I was doing I would have been in teas. luckily just watching her was enough, because listening to her was a complete waste of time. she said nothing that was useful.
April, I recently finished my folding workbench and I added a second stop block. It saves do much space in the garage and has gotten it's use. I purchased a drill press and the jaw horse watching your videos. Thx, and you ROCK!
: ) Well....here is a video I posted after I built my first one a year ago....th-cam.com/video/7C6mY7CACPQ/w-d-xo.html I did a little test and since it's held up fine I knew this one was good.
Love this idea. Im a car guy who loves to woodwork. With a 1 car garage, I dont have space for a monster work bench and to store my car in the winter. Best of both worlds.
I saw this plan last winter 2022. As I have no indoor shop, I had to wait until this summer to build it. I used an oil based stain on it as it will be out in the weather under a roof eave. Great video. I do have one suggestion. It shows you bringing the table down and then attaching the leg brace from underneath. Since I am 80, I merely put the table on the wall and then attached the bar across the legs with pocket hole screws. 😉
I was looking for more women who build stuff from scratch, when I found your channel! I shared it on to my Facebook page. Thank you for providing quality content.
I just finished a stand alone garage and need a work bench for it . This is just what I need and I can use some of that left over wood along with some pallets I am taking apart so cost should be near zero THANK YOU ! I like to re cycle Bob in Michigan
I just found you. I am moving and putting my shop back together. One problem I always seem to have is holding long boards on my radial arm saw table. This fold-down table is a great idea I will try to integrate into the layout of my shop to solve that problem. I love the videos I have seen so far, and as a "newbie" to wood you have already answered a number of questions I ask myself. Thank you.
April, Awesome video. I just recently bought a Pre - Fab shed and will be turning it into a small workshop. It is 11' x 16', and this project is just the ticket to conserve space. I have viewed other videos you have and you come up with some wonderful ideas, Thanx in advance for all the great work you do, your hubby should be very proud of you. Sincerely, Peter J. Brown
Very cool idea! I have Cancer and im very limited on what i can do physically, but im falling in love with woodworking (small stuff) i need a workbench and your design is perfect for my needs!!! Thanks!! BE SAFE,GOD BLESS!🇺🇸🙏
I built your rolling lumber cart, and have been following your channel. You have great ideas, and are very articulate when explaining things to those that may not be as talented as you are. Keep up the good work, and thanks for your great videos.
I recently built this work bench. I love how it turned out. I selected it because I loved the overall design, flexibility and simplicity of the design. I purchased the reasonably priced plans from her website. While I found some minor errors on the plans, they were easily noticed and correctable. A couple tips: April's plans call for a work height of around 30 3/4", I think you will find most work benches and kitchen counters heights at 34-36"--a more comfortable work height in my opinion. Also, my garage has 24" on center wall studs. I wanted a 3' wide (wall) by 4' outward bench. In order for me to catch at least two studs I had to adjust the bench width to a minimum of 3 1/2 feet (42"). Great video & design, April!,
Love this, I am now going to copy your simplistic way as my next DIY folding shelf. I have not got the array of machinery you have but will improvise. Thank you for sharing, have a great day.
This is SO perfect. I was trying to design my own since I recently refinished my garage for a wood shop but also wanted to be able to pull my car in during the winter. Thanks so much!❤
April, I built that table about 4 years ago after watching your video. I think I may have bought the plans from you. Anyway I use it a lot and several of my neighbors have copied it as well.
I just installed a 10x10’ Tough Shed and I’ve thought about putting in a wall bench for potting or tools or whatever. Thanks for the video, it gives me something to work with!
I've got an awful lot of room in my workshop and don't really NEED one of those. But it looks so handy that I might put a few against an opposing wall anyway. I'm sure I'll be happy they're there once they're in place.
Hello Maim, I super love your DYI folding table. You make it so Easy breezy and instrumental. You are by far a Master Craft Woman.Keep on building and teach.❤
Nice bench April, I plan to steal the idea and build similar benches in my little shop. I enjoy watching all of your videos. You have a straight forward common sense style I really appreciate.
Nice project April.. I modified your design to build an ammo reloading table in my new shop. I framed a "window" in the wall and used the space to hold dies and other reloading components. Then when the workbench is folded up, it covers that window. When I gave our kitchen a remodel a couple years ago, I saved some of the old cabinets and so I installed one of the cabinets on the wall over the workbench to hold my press. Thanks for the inspiration.
From watching this video I am planning to build a mobile table saw stand and a mobile mitersaw stand. I can then roll up to the folding table and use the table for outfeed. Thanks for the inspiration and I always enjoy watching your videos!!!
I love this idea! I have a super full garage that I try to work in, but I have little work space. This is perfect. I can make this and then fold it up when I need to use that spot for something else.
You ROCK GIRL!!!-I was just telling my neighbor I wish I had gone to a construction school. I LOOOVE DOING STUFF LIKE THIS FOR MY HOME!! Girls rock, we REALLY CAN DO Just about anything!!!💕💖💗💗💕
Thanks very much for this. I know this is 7 years old now but I just searched for a DIY foldable workbench and your video popped up with the essentials of what I was looking to do! The slight difference that I'm going to add is wheels! Weird I know.. but I have such a small space to work in that I can't necessarily just have it as a wall mounted fold down work bench, so I'm looking to add it to a frame with wheels, so I can use inside (and fold it away) or roll it outside and use it there too. Thanks again for the simple inspiration!
I bought the excellent plans and built the bench. Easy project, and a VERY nice addition to my Automotive Service Bay/Wood-shop otherwise known as my garage!
Very slick. Love the shout out to Izzy, just recently saw some of his stuff online. If I had any wall space left in my ridiculously crowded shop, I would build this just for the fun of it. Maybe in my next place...
This is the most simple and clear video showing how to do this kind of workstation! (i would love to work there!) Thanks for sharing! I ll try to do one of these for myself. ❤
Thank you so much! My teenage son and I followed your plans and built one of these for the garage. I snapped a photo and was going to share with you in my comment... but I guess you can't do that. Oh well. It looks good, works great, and leaves plenty of room for our vehicles. Again, thanks for figuring this out and sharing it with the rest of us!
Looks great. I’m thinking of building a couple fold down slatted benches for my greenhouse, so I can fold them down to have room to put my plant pots on the floor once the plants start growing tall.
Hello April, I always watch your work here in Brazil, very good, my father is a carpenter and said that you are an excellent professional. Congratulations.
Awesome design! Easy to modify for whatever dimensions are needed. Put this together in an afternoon (something I should have done BEFORE I started a woodworking hobby during the pandemic)!
OK, I just found this video. I'm mad at you April, because you just gave me 4,5 hours of work for tomorrow. :) Thanks for the clear&simple yet brilliant design. Cheers from Hungary!
Great project April, I really like the design. Works great in the shop or in a small house or apartment.
Thanks Jon.

I really enjoy the simplicity of this build yet no lack of quality. You are mine and my daughters favorite woodworker.
I wish you were my neighbor... (I actually need a folding work surface like that).
You have great energy.
Looks great Mrs. April, I've been arguing with my son ( typical 17 y/o ) over the usefulness of a fold down workbench. I had him watch this and he finally agrees with me. Simple yet effective.
Your son should listen to you better! My sons argue with me too...simply because I'm a woman.
Solid project and video, nicely done!
Really nice. :)
But at 2:13 I said yay.
Thanks John, I appreciate it.
well done always enjoy your vids
I want to create this but with space to hang my tools behind the table top. Instead of a 2x4 for the base, what could I use to make 2 inches for the table and about 4 inches for my tools section? Any advice?
Thank You for this video. You have inspired me to do my own folding work table in my basement. Thanks a lot 👏👏👏
I am delighted with his way of working, simple, practical, easy, fast. It is incredible of all the tools that you Americans have. I love you Miss April, continue with these videos that are a source of inspiration for many.
Very cool. That is one of the two things every garage needs. A fold-down table and utility sink. Thanks for the instructions.
Very handy, even to put into a bedroom where you can save floor space when u don't need the desk any more
Nice bench - I liked that you left a clamping space around the perimeter - I can't think how people cope with a workbench that you can't clamp to
I agree....clamping space on a workbench is very useful.
Thanks! I have limited garage space and need a work bench. I'm new to wood working and hope to make this my first project.
True woodworker. You are quick to improvise for customization and economy. Excellent job in both construction and education.
Thank you very much!
Proud of my 4x6 fold up workbench after watching April’s awesome video.
Pretty sweet. I think I'm going to use this as part of my outfeed table for my table saw, thanks...
Nice idea
Wow my son just bought a new house and told him I was going to build a work table for him but he doesn't have the room this is perfect really cool!
This is going to be my first project in my new Lockdown Shed!
April excellent project ..simple and practical......Congratulations
I just finished building this to use as an extra workbench for my painting and frame making. Directions are great, worth getting. Thank you for putting this on here!!! A very sturdy space saver!!
Awesome! Great to hear! Thank you for sharing and for watching.
I bought the plans from April's wilkerdos site and had my son build this in my garage. I LOVE this workbench. Love it.

Love this bench, I’m doing mine next week on my day off, thanks for the step by step tutorial. ❤️❤️

FANTASTIC IDEA TO DO IN THE KITCHEN AND LAUNDRY, FOR NOT OCCUPING SO MUCH SPACE
1. Awesome Diresta hat!
2. Recently heard about you from the Drunken Woodworker and instantly binge watched your videos.
Nothing is cooler than a woman with power tools!
Excellent shop table and build video. I'm glad your feeling better and back in the shop.

I especially like that you added the stop block on the legs. Great idea.
Fit and finish is top notch right there. I will use this video as a guide for my fold down work bench.
I made this a couple months ago for my laundry room. Total game changer having a work surface there.

I bought the excellent plans and built the bench. Easy project, and a VERY nice addition to my Automotive Service Bay/Wood-shop otherwise known as my garage!
Great job (on the bench and the Vid!) a handy tip: use screen-door spring latches to hold the bench in the up position on the wall.
I like your down to earth attitude and excellent presentation skills. Keep rocking!
This is def on my "fun things to do" list for this winter.....Thanks for sharing!

Love you're channel April. Made this table (190x110 cm) myself this month. Great space saving if you have a single garage. Greetz from the Netherlands
