Here's how to stealth in Helldivers 2. If your entire team drops out leaving you behind, don’t worry, stealth was always an option. Although stealth can work with any build, it really shines if you bring along the Infiltrator armor with scout perk that reduces the detection range by about 30%. This is now my go-to armor for all modes, and honestly, even though it has a lower protection rating, and might be bugged at the moment, I haven’t had any problems. Although you can Silent Snake your way through the game keep in mind it’s a bit easier with Automatons. When you get too close, their red scanners perk up and aim in your direction letting you know to back off. Crouching works most of the time but you can get scary close to patrols if you crawl. If there’s a bad guy between you and an objective and you can’t avoid them, sneak up and hit melee twice. It’s not the best but doesn’t alert other units unless someone gets a shot off. Units to really avoid are Commissars, they’re the guys with the single sword and the pistol, they can call in reinforcements by shooting a flare off in the air. Then make it to the extraction zone, call in the shuttle, and enjoy watching everybody get frustrated trying to find you. - เกม

Main mistake i hear from the shorts about automatons every small unit can call reinforcement, but you can more easily see them try then bugs and Interrupt till the flare is shot
Then again, if they manage to call reinforcements, you can just destroy the dropship
Commissars are not the only bot capable of calling in a drop, but they _are_ the *most likely*

They will prob add silenced weapons because they existed in HD1 so stealth will get even better

I ran this solo level 7 mission with stealth. I bring in all the airstrike that could destroy buildings, and I extracted under 6 minutes. Getting a achievement on steam. 9/10 would do it again.

It’s not just the robots that do something when they spot you but are “skeptical”, the bugs raise their heads and go up on the front two legs like a dog sitting down and usually make a higher pitched noise than they usually do when they’re spotting you. Also, walking and running makes sound and can alert enemies, but crouching and prone doesn’t
love how you pointed out how the commisars (single blade and pistole) are the once capable of calling in a dropship yet show how a random bot calls in a dropship instead.
I always take out the ones with the pistol first, usually works
That light scout armour is good to have on hot planets too.
Some dataminers showd that they have silenced weapons in the code

The hot climate limits your stamina regen IIRC, so it makes heavy armour harder to deal with and light armour becomes even more valuable.
I bet my squad gets frustrated when they get in a massive firefight and I completely sneak past everyone to the objective

@@phiality9070why not have the joys of both? While me and one of my buddies likes to play not really stealthy but more “tactically” meanwhile my other two buddies are the run and gun types, generally we split off into two groups, the main objective group, and the cause havoc everywhere else group.
Finished my first suicide rating using stealth after my team dropped. Had a blast sneaking between objectives
The pistol is surprisingly quiet btw, you can easily take out a small group without alerting the others around them
does that apply to both pistols or just the semi auto one?
The senator sidearm is currently one of the quietest weapons in the game. Scorcher is a primary that’s pretty quiet too.

Right? I'm pretty sure they were NOT expecting how much stealth people would try. Yes I know they literally have an armor for increasing stealth a bit....but where's my freaking sword?
They're adding silencers to a few different guns along with other attachments for others

I get killed by players more than enemies, so slow, heavy armor doesn't do much for me. A faster, lighter, stealth armor is best for my play style. I don't use this specific armor, but the one i use does have the 30% stealth buff also.

I love sneaking through them automatons.. They're almost literally like Generation zero robots except in Generation zero you were able to crawl underneath without being detected 💀
I kind of pulled this off on helldiver difficulty. We managed to lose all but one reinforcements within 5 minutes, everyone else left, and the power station was overrun with devastators and tanks.
I ran to get the launch codes, got someone new show up, and the power station was empty when we got back there. We succeeded and extracted with a few samples too.

My only problems with stealth is that it leaves patrols alive, democracy must not allow this brothers!

About time people start listening to me about that perk and armor!
Using sound can also distract them from your location for example you fire off your rifle then quickly run away to another place of cover they will look around where you shot the rifle but not too much further so you can lure them off of objectives using sound and also pistols seems to be a bit hard for them to detect I use the redeemer and it seems that as long as the bot I’m killing or I am not in direct sight they don’t detect it.
I love being a stealthy scout, jump pack lets you get out of hairy situations in a pinch.
Now I can play any game and be a ninja thanks man
Fun Fact: Any of the Non Melee focused small bots can call in bot drops. Further testing is required to find out if Melee units do it too. (Aka the double sword small units)
Stealth is “broken” in the sense that if you drop into a combat area there will be a patrol that immediately knows where you are, walks towards your extract direction in a non alert fashion and it does not matter where you are they will climb mountains to get in sight of you and trigger an alarm.
Having the option to stealth your way through the game like Lady Liberty’s Shadow would be awesome
Well executed, i believe the 'units' of Helldiver's are a force to be reckoned after all.
THIS. This is why I am a big advocate for melee weapons being added to the melee button. Imagine your diver cutting bot cables with a combat knife, or putting a mini spear through a bug.

I’m pretty sure anything below devastators(3) and the Star Wars walker looking things can call reinforcents. Which I love so much more than the bugs, plus if you target whoever throws their arm up you can prevent the bot drop unlike the bugs that be calling them in post mortem sometimes
We need a grapple for automatons so we can hide there bodies like hitman
Why? The bodies do noir persist long and if your talking devastator on up….your not picking that thing up.
There is actually a medium armor with the scout perk, can't remember the name but it's the one with three red eyes with the helmet

I use this too.. MOST of the time. I've warmed up to THIS ARMOR! Used to use the Medium with 50% chance to survive lethal damage and BLEED Resist to chest.. THIS armor allows me to: 1. Sneak 2. Scan areas I mark every 2 secs. 3. Stamina comes back FASTER! I partner ot with the Personal shield bubble...and Expendible Rocket! 🚀
This is the Middle ground of Light Armors!
I NEVER THOUGHT I would leave the Medium armor.. I still use it periodically.. but MOSTLY Light Armor..
I use the Trailblazer for the same reason. That armor gets me through everything

There should be an option when holding the reload key to also attach or detach a suppressor or compensator so that a full squad could choose to run lasers/suppressors or all choose to just run compensators and Stalwarts.

The trailblazer scout armor is the best light armor and the fastest. But the best overall stealth armor (so far) is the combat technician armor (it's a medium armor set) it has the best armor rating of all the stealth armors.
There is a medium armor with the scout perk as well I want to say it's combat technician or something along those lines in the free war bond pass

Against bots, i like using the Combat Engineer armor, which is a medium scout armor. Gets better armor rating than the infiltrator, but still gets the map and stealth benefits.
Reminder too your even more one shot than before so you better be dolphin diving those rockets !
Crossbow is a good choice as well.
Every trooper can call dropshipa.

Did you know: that sometimes Automatons would speak and say something but too encrypted to know what saying in game

Only raiders and commissar can, as far as I know. I hate when they do that, since I have no idea how to take down a dropship before it dispenses the troops

I did this yesterday after all the reinforcements were gone and the team I joined got upset and left… I then finished the extreme automatons mission by myself lol

Get the combat technician armor. It's normal level armor with the 30% less detection perk.
I hope silenced guns get added. Possibly some better stealth-oriented melee weapons too?

The orbital laser is also pretty good at not alerting any bots somehow... I have no idea why just dont shoot while its active and none of them process whats happening or try to call reinforcements.
Ive had to go out of my way to not mark or mention what objective im doing because if i mention or mark it someone else comes over and shoots at the bots making my stealth attempts worthless.
After the most recent update. All romaing patrols no long roam around. They know exactly where you are, and will head right towards you. They will also call in reinforcement's faster, and they will show up faster.

No. The longer you're in the planet causing problems, the higher the difficulty. The more time the enemy can coordinate counter attacks, the worse it gets.
@tym2083 my dude they have updated the game alot since then. Including patching the patrol AI so it doesn't come directly for you. At the time of this comment however that was infact the case.*

A advice I can give if you play stealth is to use sentry as a distraction
They should make a takedown animation from stealth

The game got substantially easier when I started running away and playing at a distance
Back in the first galactic war you were lucky them cyborg boys had hounds and I tell you what nothing was more scary then being focused on the enemy and having some dogs jump up behind you and in that moment of weakness you most likely already dead
Add the jump pack and you can escape any situation
