    This is quite possibly the most complete PC case in the history of PC cases. The front USB header cable problem is an issue but easily fixed with a 90 degree adapter. Great job Phanteks but this is too big so I'll wait for the NV5. And great review as always and the build is amazeballs.

    Those RGB connectors are the same as the Lian Li ones. Phanteks does offer adapters to the normal 3 pin style or you can solder them yourself (there is nothing special about the signal). I prefer the connectors that Phanteks/Lian Li are using and would like to see it become the standard one day.

    This video makes me want to buy this case. I’m totally sold simply because I saw someone installed an e-ATX mobo with right angled pin in this case.
    To be fair, this case is large and (I can say) it is targeted toward e-ATX owners; so any hiccups found when installing e-ATX on this case is kinda like a dealbreaker. I hope someday they make a bigger clearance to that side cover so I don’t have to worry about my USB 20 pin problem; or at least make the cable header a bit slimmer? 😊
    Anyway, fantastic job on the review. Subscribed to your channel!

    Late to the party, but mate, thank you for this video.
    I am compiling a list of parts for my next build and was umming and ahhing about NV7 vs NV9 and no where could I find anything about what thickness of radiator would fit. Not on the Phanteks site or other review or build vids. You very clearly showed what was possible with zero ambiguity. My neurodivergent prone to overthinking brain thanks you.
    The one thing that you didn't cover in this otherwise highly detailed video (or I missed it) was what the clearance would be if I was to use Phanteks vertical GPU mount.
    I am looking at using the Watercool Heatkiller block on the GPU and its just looks too damn nice to install in the default position.
    From googling pics I don't think a rad will fit and so I think just run 3x140mm Reverse D30s at the bottom and 2 x 120mm at the rear for air intake and 360 rads at top and side as exhaust.
    Now though, seeing that distro plate, damn looks so good though... ooof.

  • @abn0rmal
    @abn0rmal 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Wow! Amazing video. Thanks for doing all the radiator configs! Really helped out, as I have been wondering about which configs would work with the different thicknesses.
    Curious about how big you could go with each if I were to use 3x360 and how a 240 at the back would clear. Doesn't look like it will.

  • @Mapantz1
    @Mapantz1 ปีที่แล้ว

    Looks awesome! Slightly concerned over reports that the QC on their new fans is bad. One user has posted images of their D30's showing the gaps to be misaligned for where the connection clips go, meaning that the fans cannot get any power, both for lightning and speed. Out of 12 fans bought, 5 are DOA. That's not acceptable!

    • @Frozoken
      @Frozoken ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't have to buy their fans, the d30's never seemed that appealing to me after looking at their specs. If you're still looking, I can recommend silverstone's shark force fans which are better all around in performance and noise to performance although there's no reverse version or interconnect, although they have detachable cables and can be daisy chained and they're still argb. There's also 140mm variants too. Oh yeah, it also has standard connects and no bloatware either

    There's so much to like about this case lineup. I was originally planning on an NV9 build, but looking at posts online the compatability with E-ATX boards is just not there, which is deeply unfortunate. There's also just short of room for 4x 3.5" drives, another slight miss for me.

    • @GGFEvents
      @GGFEvents  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Our NV9 review and build will be up in a week or 2. Absolutely no issues with eatx boards in the NV9. And the NV9 can take 3x 3.5 inch drives up from 1 on the NV7

    • @sjewkes1
      @sjewkes1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @GGFEvents Were you able to test ones with 90-degree connectors? That seems to be the main issue point, fitting the cables into the 90-degree ports and putting the LED bar back on, even rotated to accommodate for larger boards. I'll definitely keep my eye out for the video. Next to nobody has done reviews on the case yet.

    • @GGFEvents
      @GGFEvents  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sjewkes1 yes no issues with a rog z790 extreme. Even our NV7 build used the ROG z790 extreme. The RGB cable cover gets flipped and reinstalled to fit eatx.

    • @sjewkes1
      @sjewkes1 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @GGFEvents Excellent, thanks for the replies. I'm definitely looking forward to the video. I was set on resorting to an Enthoo Elite just for the E-ATX compatibility and drive bays, which is significantly bigger than what I need😅

    Awesome build. Just curious how you mounted the Phanteks fans to the Alphacool radiator and still got the screw covers to clip in on the fans. Originally wanted to do a build in a Lancool 3, with 3x360 30mm radiators and Phantek T30 fans, but sadly this wont fit with a 240mm Distro.
    This looks like a far better option, while not taking up much more space. I am thinking of 2x360 (top and bottom) + 240 rear radiator setup, with a 360 distro like you.
    Did you use the rubber grommets to attach the Alphacool distro, or did you mod it?
    Also: one of the best builds I have seen (and I am NOT saying this lightly).

  • @ViciousXUSMC
    @ViciousXUSMC ปีที่แล้ว

    Will a 360 RAD on top fit at the same time a 240 RAD is on the back? Seems like that might be a conflict (and the setup I wish to use) I suppose if I had too the fans can go outside as shown but that is not ideal and would increase noise and lower aesthetics.

    That's one mighty nice build, if I may say so. I'm definitely getting this case for my next build, not going to put any non-AIO watercooling in there though, as I lack the skill, but seeing this kinda makes me want to learn how to make such a piece of art.
    I'm considering the Asus ROG Crosshair x670e Extreme mainboard, which has the same dimensions as the one you used, with the right-hand side connectors in the same places as well. Did you manage to get everything connected in the end? Apart from a 90-degree adapter for the USB 3.0 header, I guess you'd also need one for the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 header right next to it, and sleeved cables for the ATX power to get it around the bend? If it's too much of a hassle, I'll probably go for the Hero instead, but I'd really love to have the Extreme in there.

    Great job on the build as usual. I do have a question about the NV7 - you said that an FLT 240 on the rear can only be used with a DDC pump because a D5 will not clear the rear door. How far out does the D5 extend? I'm wondering if it might be feasible to just use some spacers to move the res portion inward a bit to make the D5 fit.

    • @GGFEvents

    i cannot for the life of me figure out the drain port from the radiator to the back of the case lol. i'm not sure what you're using for the pass through fitting :( i've got everything else. the only thing that even looks remotely close to being able to pass through properly is the fill port but yours is a thicker piece

    What would the bottom radiator setup look like if you went with a vertical gpu? What might be the max width of the rad? Could you push/pull still? Thanks!

    Amazing case, it was a PITA to build though.

    Put the drain valve, on the inside of the case and just put a threadable or ribbed fitting on the drain hole of the case for a threaded fitting or softline tubing to drain out the rear of the case.

    Case looks awesome and I think I've got my choice for my next build. Just curious how you ran the loop. From what I can tell: distro plate -> bottom rad -> GPU block -> distro plate -> CPU block -> distro plate -> top rad? How did you incorporate the drain valve?

    • @cadkins19967
      @cadkins19967 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I can tell the drain is fed from the bottom channel on the left side of the distro plate and routed around the back of the bottom rad.

      @@cadkins19967 Take a look at 26:42, rad is multi-port so it looks like one of those ports is being used for the drain valve.

    I removed those SSD doors on mine because I run nothing but NVME M2s and just to save some weight the case is a heavy girl with are custom water cooling loop.

    I see you are using an inline filter. As someone who hasn't yet gotten to start building a liquid loop myself (too small budget) but been worried if I ever were to try and clean rads i'd still have leftovers in it. Would you recommend getting a filter for one's loop?

    all looks good but the only stuff that's annoying is the RGB controller only supports they're fans. and I cant find the adaptors for them. maybe someone knows more than me and tell me if there is adaptors for it?

    WOW! As usual you're an inspiration. I have this exact same motherboard and was looking for a smaller case than my current Corsair 1000D. Looks like I found it! You're the best!

    Hi. what is the reference of the distro used? sorry if you said that during the video. I am French and it is complicated to understand everything for me.

    The width of this Phanteks NV7 is even smaller than the Lian Li O11D XL - are there issues with a horizontal mount for the RTX4090? I am worried about the clearance to the side panel and bent connectors (especially without aftermarket cables). I was actually very surprised at the width when the NV7 is marketed to be a huge case for latest gen GPUs.
    This case looks really nice, but I may just wait to see the dimensions for the Lian Li EVO XL.

      The O11D XL has 167 mm clearance for the GPU, the NV7 has 185mm. The NV7 has more clearance because the PSU is located on top of the motherboard and not behind like the O11D XL
