I'm 66 and been out of fishing for many years after having a family and looking after my mum and dad ,sadly they have both passed away now Mick ,thank you for helping me get up to speed on the new fishing techniques,I've got a match at barston later in the year, this video will help me greatly 👍
Besides the amount of useful tips and methods both you and Joe pass on and describe, I would also without sounding patronising like to complement you and the Easy and Common sense of how you describe the ART of Fishing. It helps and assists Anglers of most levels of experience and discipline. This channel is fast becoming the go to place for useful information and tips. Brilliant.
Cracking video Mick , I cannot believe I missed this when it came out .. Everything you said about the line I’ve found to be true cracking line very impressed with it . Very informative vid . Certainly a good thing now knowing a lot more about the line can only help the fishing upstanding the tools you are using .. spot on Mick 💪🎣
Nice one MickV. You are amongst the best teachers out there. I always look forward to watching your vids. It would be interesting to talk more about tow - just how much it affects the way the fish feed and how the bait presents itself. All the best, Andy Holden.
@@Robert-c5x9i hi Robert , that is a feeder land one we were given to try out , it’s a nice rest , quite a complexed bit of equipment , and a real “pro” type product , I think they sell for around £110 , without a rod rest head
Hi ya Mick thanks for a very interesting feeder session. What size line would you use for feeder fishing for barbel and I have just purchased the Preston monster x treme distance 4.2 feeder 200g rod and the Preston intensity 720 reel?
Hi , I think that depends on flow and how much lead you need to hold bottom , I used the 10lb detexion recently on a video while Lobworm fishing in the Trent , and it was ideal , that rod will handle them Barbel lovely I’m sure
I like the Albright knot when using mono to mono , and I also like this from Braid to mono , but for braid to mono then a six turn blood knot in the mono to a loop in the braid works fine
Hi Ken , the stretch factor will be good for pellet waggler , more direct for this fast bites , I suppose the fact that it sinks would mean that you won’t get drag if you waiting for a bite , but then as you probably know , bites are instant on pellet waggler anyway 👍
Even though you are no longer a Preston sponsored angler you still use their rods and reels Mick. Any particular reason for this? l am very interested in buying some Detexion line for my carp feeder fishing but l like the line to stretch when pellet waggler fishing. I also use the same reel line in the strength below for hook lengths. This way l feel l get maximum shock absorbing and think l lose less fish. Do you think this is wrong?

@@NuFish Cheers Mick, I’ll give it a try.
What do you do if a carp takes your ‘clipped up’ bait and runs?
Take your clip off 🤷🏼♂️
Mick likes to flick his clip
Off , but if you don’t feel
Safe doing this , then mark your line and take it off when the feeder is in position 👍

They are excellent reels 👍🏻
'Promosm' 🙌
A good angler need not to clip up lol 😅.....
Good anglers don’t need to watch videos either , but not everybody is an expert, there’s always something to learn from somebody at sometime 👍
