- Method Feeder Margin Fishing
There is nothing I love more than dropping a method feeder 6 inches off the bank and bagging myself a margin chunk ! Well today's session is all about that, targeting the island margins, by the reeds and tight to the near bank.
The venue for today's video is lakeside fishery outside of Chorley. I will talk you through some of the techniques and some of the signs you need to watch out for when margin fishing.
The baits I am using in the video are my own brand, see the links below to my website if you want to support the channel.
Grab a brew or a beer and enjoy the video 🎣 don't forget so subscribe, comment and like if you enjoy the videos !

Mega venue and the best video this year......keep it up boys 😉 👍
great video guys...and a few chunks!....caught....tight lines mat....
Had great success at Lakeside a couple of weeks ago on the Westys Pellets and Wafters in the margins on the next peg to the right to where you were mate, lovely little fishery
Some excellent fish caught by both of you, and it wasn’t even raining for a change
Got a korum chair and feeder arm after your review 👍got a week off to do some fishing but I am worried spawning will put the dampers on it, heapey lodges and coppul mill 😎
Hiya, Nice video good fish. It looked to me to be very consistent, you can tell summer's on the way, it didn't rain. I am looking forward to the new bait, I use a lot of you stuff. Enjoy & have a good one.
Hi Barry ! I know you do buddy and it’s really appreciated 💪🏻 I just want people to have fun and catch fish 🎣
A little tip I find good, when you put your pellets in the mould then your hook length try putting the goo round your hook bait then put more pellets in then mould it. That way you have got goo all through your pellets. It worked good for me!! 👍🎣
Excellent video as always Westy, thanks
Some nice fish westy ,hurry up with the trials so we can get some of the pellets and wafters 😂😂😂
Perfection takes time mate 😂 I’m hoping for a launch at month end 🎣 thank you for your orders mate and for supporting the channel ! Doesn’t go unnoticed !
Some big chunks there lol. Well done lads that was a good day definitely
Great video again guys big up the margin fishing😂
Can’t beat it Dan ! #marginmonsters
Loved this video some belter to
Another enjoyable video Westy mate, is this fishery anywhere near Limbrick cos that's where me and my mate are going for the weekend 7th June, come and join us pal🎣🎣
20 minutes? Ish
I was down last Sunday same peg 🎉 pretty sure it's been stocked because of U with all these anglers coming down 🎣
Those last 2 fish were proper lookers, might have to get up there for a go, aint been there for about 15years.
Definitely mate ! Just take it easy around the pegs 👍🏻
Awesome video as always mate, I often find myself wondering what you do for a living tho?🧐
Finance Manager for a Motor company 🚗
U could cast with the flat method for longer distances, i know its not really a thing in the uk, but i fish with flat method feeders, for longer distances than 100 meters, and i think the flat feeders are more practical, but the banjos are perfect for it as well.
You know that most of your bait will be coming off on the cast ? That’s my experience
@@WestysAngling it depends on how you mix your groundbait, or pellets, if you mix it right, it will stay perfectly intact untill hitting the water
@@WestysAngling i can send you a video once carp at my local lake stop spawning
another great vid - thanks westy - what size hooks & hook link you using with 10lb main line?
Size 12 or 10 Korum allrounder hooks (can get them on my website) hooklengths - 12lb guru n-guage or 8lb Korda cruiser control I use. 10lb Daiwa sensor mainline. With this setup it’s hard to get broke 👍🏻
I always fish your dad's peg and my uncles fishes yours! top choices mate
We didn’t have any other choices 😂😂😂 just keeping them warm for you Mike !
@WestysAngling thanks pal 😂😂 well you made a good choice, even if you had none 😂
I've found that sometimes the smaller carp give a better fight than the big lumps!!!!! I love catching carp between 5 and 10 lb.
I certainly agree with this ! I think 12lb is the sweet spot for a hard fighting fish. Long fish are also stronger I find
I've caught those pot bellied 20+ carp which fight like reeling in a wet sack! No thanks! Not for me.
Great film boys and some great fish caught as well 👍💪👌🎣🐟 really going to have to give this lake a bash 😀
When are you doing the give away for the towel and dry bag mate
If I do a giveaway buddy I pin the winners comment and notify them with a comment. Then get them to contact me on social media to claim. However the winner has to be over the age of 16 or have parental permission 👍🏻
Need to get yourself to yorkshire mate👍
Sonubaits bringing out some new green bandum wafters and sinkers, never used green hookbaits so very eager to try them!
I know buddy ! I’m going to give them a review I think 👍🏻
@@WestysAngling great stuff 👍🏻
Have had great success on dynamites hookable betaine Green baits. My daughter calls them greenies. All sorts of species seem to like them. Hope you have similar success !
Nice fishing Westy. Looking at buying the bigger dark brown pellets when available.
Thanks Paul ! Could be ready by month end 😁
waheyyy Tues last hour of work sorted
Can i ask what size hook you use for the 10mm mainline wafters mate
Size 12 feeder hook will mostly balance a 8/10mm wafter, I always test them in the margin first 👍🏻 every brand is different!
Which rucksack are you using? Looks ideal for myself.
Greys prodigy tackle base 👍🏻 had it years. Highly recommend
What rods where you using at Lakeside?
Korum opportunist xtnd 2lb tc 🎣
i cant get my pellets to work at all, soaking for 30 sec max. But when i cast and let them sit for 5 min they will get rock hard when i real it in and check. The pellets wont fall off :(
Are you mixing them with anything else Barry ? I am going to be putting a video up showing how to do overnight pellets this technique may help you.
@@WestysAngling no just pellets, no groundbait mixed in
Lakeside fishery near chorley
It's no wonder that they fight well they have seen your legs on the way in and are making a run for it. Get some trousers 👖 on.😂😂
Sorry Antony ! Only hot pants are being worn on the videos from now on 😂 tighter the better !
Btw Westy how can we check if we win any of the giveaways you do on your channel 🎉
I comment on the persons comments then tag it to the top of the feed once I have chosen them ! Though I will start making a more professional way when I have a little more time 👍🏻
@@WestysAngling thank you 👌
❤
When you coming to Birmingham
😂 god knows mate ! Maybe if I’m ever full time with TH-cam !
@@WestysAngling keep up the good work
