This talk about Arkveld has really inspired a theory for myself. Now, as we know, with Capcom and MH, the Flagship does not always equal the final boss of the game. World had Nergigante as the FS and Xenojiva as the FB, Iceborne had Velkana and Shara Isvalda, Rise had Magnamalo and Narwa, then Sunbreak had Malzeno and Gaismagorm just to name a few. I'm going to theorize here that Arkveld has the ability to steal life energy from monsters like how Wraiths can steal souls and the reason Arkveld has lived for long enough for its species to be considered extinct is because it was used by the Keepers to keep a powerful Elder Dragon contained. Likely the reason Arkveld is going around trying to get more energy by stealing it from the Apexes is either the Elder Dragon it was keeping sealed away either went completely dormant to preserve it's energy and Arkveld was unable to take any life force from it or it finally woke up because it was growing tired of Arkveld stealing its energy.
Or maybe is gathering enough juice to get its final form to fight something off? I really think arkveld rn isn't it's final form yet idk but you're theory actually really sounds good!
I have not heard a single person say they dislike or hate Arkveld's design. I'm pretty certain there are those who do, but from my perspective, this dude's reception is not at all mixed
@@mikes9767 I saw some theories saying that the chains that were holding it capture, like fused with it and thats why it has chains as a flying wyvern and also why its so pissed off
@@mikes9767 my take on it is that it looks too bulky in general to be able to fly. The design still is freaking awesome, and with the chains it really gives the vestige of a vengeful dark spirit. Speaking of which, since the monster was thought to have been extinct, it technically makes it UNDEAD, like a ghost it is something that as far as everyone knows, has no business being alive.
If you look at the cover art the chains are a bit weird. Look closely and it looks like the chains are coming from the left wing only, and the right wing is down on the ground, hidden behind the hunters. If you compare that too the movements in the trailer, the right wing chain should be on the ground with the wing not up in the air like in the cover art. So if the 2 chains we see in the cover art ARE in fact coming from the left wing only then it might be that it is supposed to have 4 in total (maybe even more?). The 2 extra might come in later with the theorized evolution later in the game.
I think arkveld and the rest of its kind went to war with a rival species and wiped eachother out but this last one sensed that one enemy must have survived or a the arkveld had superior numbers but couldn't finish the job and only gravely wounded the enemy. This last one went into hibernation and it awoke sensing its enemy coming back. It began killing the current apex monsters not only to regain strength but also to deny its rival food in hopes of finishing this here and now.
My theory is that, like many have stated, there may be “black wraith,” but going further than that, part is that this counterpart or opposite to arkveld is essentially the ruler of the forbidden lands and uses the apexes as essentially its generals.
Arkveld has such a banger design - it's insane. I've not heard much back and forth behind it - I remember seeing more for Magnamalo AND Malzeno - Malzeno quickly had people jump on Team "LOVE THIS" with his fight / in-game design, Magnamalo always has a couple haters here and there. Arkveld seems a consensus "WTF ARE YOU WHY ARE YOU SO COOL"
I feel like Arkveld isn't chained but is the chains and it is hunting the apexes to strengthen itself somehow It's taking strength with the strangling of uth duna and doing this so that it might shed and become stronger like Gore Magala It is doing this so it may hold back the true big bad Arkveld being the black serpent and the green serpent being what it feels like it must hold back It's appearance just screams revenge to me This is an extended life if not forced immortality to hold back the final assigned mission monster
Call me crazy, but what if Arkveld is another unclassified monster like Gore, and through some story event becomes a full fledge elder dragon? Think about it. Arkveld has yet to be given a proper classification despite the fact that every monster before him has. Plus his design doesn't really scream proper Flying Wyvern to me, as his shape and body structure feels more like a bulky Tigrex than anything, similar to Gore. Not to mention the weird thin line between wyvern and elder dragon that he emanates through his design, with his slightly unconventional shape, his air of mystery, and the raw power he's already shown to display. Plus, one of Gore's names is the "Black Eclipse Wyvern" Despite not being classified as one, just like Arkveld's name. Again, this may be a stretch, but he genuinely feels it.
i don't think the arkveld we fight in wilds will *become* an elder dragon, but it might be something akin to an ancestor or missing link between wyverns and elder dragons. Rey Dau has a weird blade on its wing that doesn't connect to the rest of the wing membrane, so i'm wondering if it's a wyvern descendant of Arkveld, and the final boss will be an elder dragon descendant
. . . Well it could be unclarified like gore magala or a fanged wyvern cuz it looks like it doesn't fly much and it has hands on its wings, like tigrex although he doesn't fly so idk
I think the Gore comparison is apt because they make sure to show the distinction between the one chained up & the one we see in the cutscenes. It's possible that the one in the cutscenes/the one we see through the game is still immature, needing to consume the bioenergy of apexes to mature into a proper adult like the one we see chained up. They may even maintain a similar storyline progression to previous MH games, but instead of a different monster, keeping the immature Arkveld alive is what was keeping the mature one placated, and with the immature one slain, the adult goes on a rampage
Arkveld feels like it's going to grow 2 more legs and reveal that it's actually an Elder Dragon, maybe it has a "strait jacket" along with its chains and can molt away to reveal new arms. Also all the ancient buildings straight up looks like eroded "modern" skyscrapers, maybe MH is finally going to dive into ancient civilisation lore and reveal how high tech civilisation was in the past and how it led to the dragon war and decline of civilisation.
I like the parallel made to the whip-wing wyverns in Frontier. But the one thing I think is really cool is how it uses it's wings more like actual arms. And you can see that in which it's not just a single wingtalon. It's a whole claw on each wing. And it's built almost like an entire arm with how muscular they are. And that also kinda fits with how Arkveld throws its chain appendages around. If it's a primary mechanism of it, then it would obviously have to be built to use them constantly, on top of flying as well.
Tons of 4u similarities going on. I could see arkveild having his own Gore > Shagaru moment in the story. That lets them add the “twist” at the end that they always add and allows arkveild to stay relevant until the story’s conclusion.

If you look at the chains binding Arkveld closely they go from purple crystals to darker colors like they were repaired using the crystals at some point. I also assume the Keepers were well keeping Arkveld bound in chains for who knows how long he could be generations old, and they've kept him there for that long for some reason but recently he broke free or was released by someone or something and ended up destroying the Keepers and their civilization expect Nata and maybe a few others who were looking for...
The way this thing is designed from it's skull/face to the fabric like cloak draped over the wings/arms makes me believe this monster is related to the Gore Magala species. We could for once be getting some lore/history behind one of the LEAST known monster lines in the franchise with this fella. I really hope my theory is true, love that lil rage inducer and Arkveld just looks fantastico
My theory is that at first we believe that Arkveld is the last of its kind and that it goes around to each locale to fight and absorb the life force of their apexes. We end up having yo fight it at some point because it has become too dangerous. Of course we then find out later that yes their is a stable population of these monsters and the individual we hunted was actually gearing up to fight with a more dangerous monster that will be the final boss
My theory would be that the white wraith is a descendant of the white god and will have a counterpart known as the black revenant just like how the white god has a counterpart known as the black god in the older games. The story will revolve around understanding life and death, how both of these things are important to achieve balance, yin and yang. Its evident to how they did the color palette from the two serpents in the logo, starting from a lighter color going to darker ones further down. Its actually hard to miss, so maybe they're doing a yin and yang reference in the game's plot
Pay close attention to the very end where Arkveld has roar battle with rey dao, you can see more than just 2 "chains" With that screenshot of Arkveld chained up we see the obvious 4 chains on him. I predict when he gets angry those chains will split and give him a really intimidating fight to remember!
A complete shot in the dark but the colors that come from the chain reminds me of the color that appears in base Merphistophelins core. Perhaps its wraps the chains around the apex’s to absorb the elements they represent so that it may use them itself
Part of me knows they won’t do it but I would love if the story goes even more intense into that Moby Dick allegory where Nata despite being a kid gets more and more obsessed with getting the Wraith hunted putting everyone in jeopardy, more over it being revealed that his people are not descendants of some wise ancient people who were wiped out by a great evil but rather descendants of an race much like the Old World Ancient civilizations, arrogant and fell at the hands of their hubris, so taking down Arkveld turns out to be a net negative cause its species was once extremely vital to stabilizing nature “hence why it hunts apex monsters who do not cause natural disasters but thrive and may enhance them” The final boss would even be fun to be something akin to Nata awakening some sort of canon form of the “Equal Dragon Weapon” or some kind of man made/bred monster that hunted Arkveld’s species to extinction
I just hope it's on the level as Elder Dragons. I would love for there to be another classification of monsters that just as powerful as elder dragons without necessarily being elder dragons. seeing the turf wars between elder dragons and this potential new classification would be awesome
There's ukanlos and akantor, the white and black god as the people call them. They're basically the first monsters where wyverns evolved from. They are unclassified and are really as strong as the elder dragons without being categorized themselves. Although I put them in a category I made up myself called "Prime wyverns"
It could be that Arkveld is trying to get revenge for his species. Could be a fun mirror to nata himself, as he wants to get revenge for the death of his people, the keepers. And as we go through the story, nata starts to realize he isn't that different from Arkveld and all that cycle of violence is bad stuff. PS: can't wait for pro and noob, cotton is going to have his mind blown by wilds.
I'm pretty sure the "4 chains" state is just Arkveld separating the chain on each wing down the middle. You can see on the game cover art that the whips are thinner when it has two on each arm.
on the topic of the artwork for arkveld, the one where you mentioned four whip-like appendages coming off it, i have theory on that; what if arkveld is in a similar manner to other monsters like rajang, zinorge, amd gore magala? what if it can enrage, but then is capable of tapping into a powered-up state, that results in the whip-like appendages splitting, turning 2 into 4?
all of these bones remind me of a giant snake like the one in the vale. you can see that they are not randomly placed but slithering across the land. maybe a laviente
My theory is Arkveild as a species absorbs bio energy and the keepers locked it away to maintain balance, but unfortunately they misunderstood that Arkveild absorb energy to challenge the main cause of the chaotic weather.
White wraith and likely some sorta black demon equivalent. The main symbol for wilds has 2 main serpents one being colored and one being qbsent of color so that's my take. Idk if they would do another bio energy seeking monster after we just got done with safi jiiva but i do believe a chaotic weather monster is definitely a thing.
Idk if there will be causes of the weather despite the interviews but, this is the forbidden lands so it makes sense they're really harsh environments with wild weather like these. We were banned/halted from advancing here for reasons after all.
@@goldendoomslayer6301 completely possible but the clip of Arkveild challenging the Apexes who appear during weather changes, and the glowing appendages makes me think more is going on.
My theory is ark is weak from being imprisoned in trying to chase him down it leads us around getting us to weaken the other absorb some kind of power then evolve Al Gore to shagaru
Maybe Arkveld is a monster like Nergigante that survive sorely on life force, therefore The White Wraith... well correction, Nergigante use Bio-energy. Maybe the keepers make sure it's life force runs out by keeping it imprisoned.
Which goes against the guild's whole natural order shouldn't be messed with unless it is fatalis then we have to prevent the alpha predator from waking up
I feel like the chains on Arkveld might possibly be it being controlled by another monster. We've seen it a few times in monster hunter where a monster is messed up because of another one
I wouldn't be so quick to discard the chains as not being, something was keeping the monster in place. The keepers could have made them using the powers of all apexes, so if no apexes no more chains draining its power and keeping him locked up
I definitely don’t like arkveld as much as I wanted to, but he’s not bad. My biggest gripe with him is the fact that he’s covered in thick, long, white fur… in the windward plains. I could see it in an ice locale, but it’s definitely out of place in a dry grassland or a desert…
I have a crazy theory what if arkveld has a life drain ability and it's going apex to apex to get stronger. If the theory of something holding him down is true that plays into mine, maybe his stealing the life forces of the apex to regain or increase his power to " break the chains" that hold him and maybe this could be a monster the goes from wyvern to elder dragon status by absorbing the power of others.
Arkveld might end up absorbing all the locale boss monsters and absorb their elements adding more chains empowered with element. This thing might end up being the Kurapika of monsters.
CHAIN WHIP as a new weapon type!!! Am I the only one who thinks that would be awesome? Could Arkveld’s chains be an evolutionary trait for stealth hunting? Imagine a wraith-like creature using them to stalk prey or trap ranged attackers. The name ‘White Wraith’ suggests a focus on stealth.
2:39 I think those are ribs (or claws) if anything, because it might just be ignorance on my part, but those seem too hooked to be teeth, like cartoonishly extreme curves
I have thought that Arkveld is preety much magnamalo of wilds bc logo gives not only two big serpents but also lot of little one's and that may mean that this small snakes is children of two big snakes or I'm crazy and little snakes represents this desert leviathans and circles is their sand pits.
"No sh*t Sherlock! Who would've guessed?" Genuinely, who are saying his designs' colors are bland? He's faded and white for a reason, plus he has more colors than that.

crazy theory but i think nata's people has captured and slaughtered many of these arkveld for generations until it almost confirmed extinct by the guild, that's until one break lose and start to hunt nata's people in the name of revenge
Well im betting we got another magala/jiva situation here more on the former cause the website has classed it as the same species type as gore magala apparently which would make it the 3rd monster to be classed as that but we won't know for sure till more is revealed in time
what if Arkveld is the monster who sealed the (to come) elderdragon away? and now the chains are broken and the elder will awake soon and bring once again calamity over the forbidden lands
Arkveld is Kratos lolol. All jokes aside my theory is that it is the "last of its kind." The render where it looks chained up looks very sad and lonely. It might classify as an "extinct species" so maybe we'll see other extinct species as well like Wyvern Rex. Just a theory and wishful thinking. Be awesome if Wyvern Rex can make a appearance in Wilds.
What if Arkveld is an invader like Diablos/Bagelgoose? So far what we have seen is that it seems to like going into other apex's habitat's and killing them potentially for nothing more than sport
We don’t really see it dominating Rey dau and we also don’t see Rey run away just start flying and from another shot in the trailer come back for another attack to which Arkveld is countering with a chain strike
White Wraith aka Arkveldomort = The boy who live has come to die (Nata) jokes aside arkveld is the flagship but they will always be a final boss and a ultimate boss usually like how worlds had nergigante as flagship and zora magros/xenojiva is the final boss/ultimate monster.
Dont care about the boy. The twin shrine maidens had a way more interesting story but they fumbled that in Rise though. The White Wraith vs Magnamalo... Magnamalo would win.
Is this is an artificial monster? Coz the name does not seem tribal/indigenous at all, unlike Rey or Uth. Ofcourse not all new monsters are in Wilds, but also, the name is very science-y... like Arc Weld to Arkveld. Also, between the Chain-like appendages actually having Chains coming out in the chained-up image, and him being part of an extinct species like the city ruins... and the Keepers keeping him... I think Arkveld is either an entire species of, or atleast the story one is, a fully artificial or an artificially modified monster. Made to combat whatever Elder dragon left those massive buiding sized tusks/fangs/bones. Arkveld was designed to "protect" humanity from any threats, so as soon as it broke free, it went after the Apexes designating them as the biggest "threat" around. Why it attacked the Keepers I don't have a good explanation for, but this also explains the massive circles in the Plains (used to "keep it alive" i.e. provide energy though the chains, drawing it through the circle and/or lightning rods) and the "special" element it uses (artificial element).
This talk about Arkveld has really inspired a theory for myself.

on the topic of the artwork for arkveld, the one where you mentioned four whip-like appendages coming off it, i have theory on that;
what if arkveld is in a similar manner to other monsters like rajang, zinorge, amd gore magala? what if it can enrage, but then is capable of tapping into a powered-up state, that results in the whip-like appendages splitting, turning 2 into 4?
What if it’s ability is kinetic energy. It starts turning purple the more it gets hit. For example, the lightning from Rey Dau.
all of these bones remind me of a giant snake like the one in the vale. you can see that they are not randomly placed but slithering across the land. maybe a laviente
yall should create a new outro song when wilds releases to signify a new age of hunting and a new age of entertainment
Imagine if this monster becomes the inspiration for a 15th weapon like the hunting whip from that short running Monster Hunter manga.
Bro..I HOPE that turf wars with Arch involve him chaining up whatever he is fighting
According to an interview, the devs said the weather are natural and no elder drgn are causing them
Idk if there will be causes of the weather despite the interviews but, this is the forbidden lands so it makes sense they're really harsh environments with wild weather like these. We were banned/halted from advancing here for reasons after all.
@@MeguminDStaff1007 thanks didn't know
@@goldendoomslayer6301 completely possible but the clip of Arkveild challenging the Apexes who appear during weather changes, and the glowing appendages makes me think more is going on.
Ark veld has 4 individual chains, the 2 in the trailer are each set clasped together
My theory is ark is weak from being imprisoned in trying to chase him down it leads us around getting us to weaken the other absorb some kind of power then evolve Al Gore to shagaru
Somehow i am getting vibes like the "sealed" tower wyvern/ed from the frontier playthrough. The one with ice and poison i think it was ...
Arkveld is using what seems to be a hybrid of Barrioth and Bazel skeleton.
Maybe Arkveld is a monster like Nergigante that survive sorely on life force, therefore The White Wraith... well correction, Nergigante use Bio-energy. Maybe the keepers make sure it's life force runs out by keeping it imprisoned.
Which goes against the guild's whole natural order shouldn't be messed with unless it is fatalis then we have to prevent the alpha predator from waking up
Arkveld is not just an Elder Dragon.. it's a Forefather Class Elder Dragon. 🤯
I feel like the chains on Arkveld might possibly be it being controlled by another monster. We've seen it a few times in monster hunter where a monster is messed up because of another one
I wouldn't be so quick to discard the chains as not being, something was keeping the monster in place. The keepers could have made them using the powers of all apexes, so if no apexes no more chains draining its power and keeping him locked up
The head remind of gore magala it might evolve into another form like gore magala too ...we will see when the full game come out ...

(Love your stuff!
Keep up the good work!)
That would be insane if Arkveld is powering up for the true big bad! What if he was chained up as a failsafe?
2:39 I think those are ribs (or claws) if anything, because it might just be ignorance on my part, but those seem too hooked to be teeth, like cartoonishly extreme curves
I have thought that Arkveld is preety much magnamalo of wilds bc logo gives not only two big serpents but also lot of little one's and that may mean that this small snakes is children of two big snakes or I'm crazy and little snakes represents this desert leviathans and circles is their sand pits.
I honestly think that they will make a new class called primordial monsters (thought to be extinct momsters)
"Nahh its bland and its all white, i dont like"
Ummm it is called the White Wraith for a reason lol
"No sh*t Sherlock! Who would've guessed?"
Genuinely, who are saying his designs' colors are bland? He's faded and white for a reason, plus he has more colors than that.
@@masonstewart6232 i don't understand those people, and I don't want to call them Hunters, they ain't one of us for sure lol
He glows purple too lmao
i think it's absorbing the life force of the others to get go against another
Imagine if the flagship is the GOOD GUY! like he's trying to task out the ACTUAL big bad threat!
Size of arkveld could be linked to the number of chains ⛓️
Arkveld is the seregios ancester the foot is X Form the whip is similar to seregios wings the arms claw is like seregios arms claw
Sorry for english is not my from america
Think the design of the flag ship is a little funky and im on the fence about it. Looks cooler than magnamalo tho
crazy theory but i think nata's people has captured and slaughtered many of these arkveld for generations until it almost confirmed extinct by the guild, that's until one break lose and start to hunt nata's people in the name of revenge
I 100% believe that Arkveld is NOT the logo monster
what if akrveld used to be a protector of the keepers and got taken over by someonething so he chained himself up after destroying the town
Well im betting we got another magala/jiva situation here more on the former cause the website has classed it as the same species type as gore magala apparently which would make it the 3rd monster to be classed as that but we won't know for sure till more is revealed in time
Man cant wait to guide me in this game
Does it look like the four dragons unlocking the two dragons that is in the middle with their tails?
what if Arkveld is the monster who sealed the (to come) elderdragon away? and now the chains are broken and the elder will awake soon and bring once again calamity over the forbidden lands
I just want nergie back lowkey but I still want arkveld to be the main part of the story, like I just wanna hunt nergie in wilds
It has some Ceadeus vibes imo
Absolutely
What if Arkveld is an invader like Diablos/Bagelgoose? So far what we have seen is that it seems to like going into other apex's habitat's and killing them potentially for nothing more than sport
I think old man Arc Weld is cool
I really really wanna see this creature just fight nergigante
Probably what chained it is the issue
We don’t really see it dominating Rey dau and we also don’t see Rey run away just start flying and from another shot in the trailer come back for another attack to which Arkveld is countering with a chain strike
White Wraith aka Arkveldomort = The boy who live has come to die (Nata) jokes aside arkveld is the flagship but they will always be a final boss and a ultimate boss usually like how worlds had nergigante as flagship and zora magros/xenojiva is the final boss/ultimate monster.
The extinction Dragon
There’s not 1 soul I’ve heard that said they didn’t like Arkvelds’ look. Easily one of the most badass looking monsters; in my opinion.
Guess what? I don’t like it
i personally dont like his design very much but if it has a fun fight then it will still be great
Dont care about the boy.
People keep saying Arkveld is Megatron.
Just in time for my break lol
I'm not knowledgeable with Mh history because i started with mhw but I think he is going to become an elder dragon???
Wow. 20 seconds
I think it's awesome
Why do people assume arkveld dominated rey? They're literally about to clash before the trailer clashes wdym "he ran away" 💀
Nice
🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was sure nata was a girl!
Is it me or those chains look artificial? Man-made.
Or its a ??? Monster
First finally...
But Fatalis is a very boring black. And nobody cries about that look
Not very good “keepers” are they😅
First like and comment💪 love the videos
i hate nata already...
