[Plot Introduction/ synopsis]
The play tells the story of the princess Wang Xuan (played by Zhang Ziyi) who has a first love, the third prince Zitan (played by Tony Yang). Wang Xuan was involved in the court battle because of the prophecy of "getting her, getting the world." She became her father's chess piece and married Lord Yuzhang, Xiao Qi (played by Zhou Yiwei), from a humble background. Soon, Prince Helan (played by Yuan Hong) kidnapped Wang Xuan to seek revenge on Xiao Qi. The couple fell in love with each other because of a blessing in disguise. In the end, the couple joined hands to create a new era and guard their homeland's people.

In a short period of time, she has encountered many changes and betrayals.
All this has far exceeded the limit of her cognition and understanding, her fear,doubt and anxiety can't be alleviated at once. She doesnt have enough time to reconcile herself like XiaoQi. While Xiao Qi already become "himself" , Awu is still growing. Not to mention this process supposed to be long and lonely

I told you guys, each scene that Jinger is in, he is a different baby at different stage, not really growing up but still an infant. it is like they can't keep one baby to do all the scenes. It would seem more realistic than changing baby all the time.
Keep in mind that Jing'er was born premmie (by 3 months if I remember correctly). A premature baby's growth and development is calculated subtracting the amount of time they were premature - so if a baby was born ten months ago, and they were 3 months early, they should be at the size and developmental stage of a 7 month old baby, depending on health complications suffered as a result of being premmie, in which case it may be less than 7 months.
I know this has been a long drama and only 4 more episodes but I'm like I wish there was a season 2.. this drama was amazing 👏😍

Chinese history is one of the oldest. Although I love world history, everywhere..they just don't make historical movies like Cdramas.
I have been watching these dramas since I found them one day (Rise of the Phoenixes) during early part of pandemic. I am hooked for life now!!!!

This Wang Lin played by one of my fav actor. I first saw him on Romance of the Three Kingdom 2010. Back then he is much younger and his acting was so good. Always play this kind of character, a smart and charismatic man with high ambition,from a warlord, crown prince, chancellor and prime minister...

I'm getting disappointed with Awu. She doesn't realize her kindness toward Xiaoqi's enemies is so unfair and selfish. She still kept visiting the Empress Dowager and even mentioned about forgetting the revenge.

@@michd4992 exactly! Awu and XQ are so loyal and kind, they will even be an advantage for the Royal family, had they not attempted to kill the 2 and lose their trust.
In this story I realised that Awu is over protective of her family and loved ones rather than her husband.
Awu is always in the right place at the right time finding out what she needs to know in order to keep her husband and herself alive. She rules in that palace and everyone needs her help to survive. She will keep her husband safe as he fights to keep her safe. Remember she was raised to be the empress, she knows all the rules and secrets. Xioa Qi understands that and loves and supports her.
Not only is 'dead' daddy manipulating everyone around him but he still wants to control who his son wants to marry (this is getting so old). The Lord is not worried about rumors by the nobles, but remember not all 'low' class are 'noble' given the actions of Count Suyi and Concubine Su. Awu really needs to trust her hubby and come clean.
I can't believe that the princess brother became her father puppet. He knows how his father is, as I said, when a plant born bend it never will be fixed. His father still wants to be emperor and he will kill anybody whose in his way. Poor princess aunt.😥😥😥😥

还是甄嬛传看得痛快，既有年少的清纯，又有岁月沉淀后的锋芒。阿妩这种天天抬着下巴当圣女只会觉得象个傻子，视所有人的安慰不顾，身边人都死光光也依然高高在上的“慈悲”，所谓的天下安危，不过是掩人耳目的暗潮汹涌。章子怡接这种戏再加上她的表演也算是彻底摘下了国际章的光环了
有几场戏确实演的不错。我也不理解，为啥很多时候她都木有表情。或者说就一个木然的表情。心理活动完全看不出啊。
她一方面貌似虔诚的祭拜将士，另一方面又压制着真凶；一方面“爱”着萧綦，另一方面又放王子（并且那个时候她以为萧綦死了），这都什么逻辑，到底哪处的情感是真的，简直是爱恨善恶都不分了，这编剧把她都写成精神分裂了
我也是觉甄環传好看，剧情到了后面越发紧张好看，结局的时候我都舍不得看完，可上阳赋的剧情是真的不咋滴，演员演技是挺好，就是因为编剧不咋滴，所以大家才有空对演员的演技挑三挑四

Wang Lin is a textbook narcissist. He uses everyone for his own benefit including babies and sons.
Wang Su desperately wants his father’s love and approval which is why he goes along with everything Wang Lin says. Thing is, Wang Lin will never love him, no matter what mountains Su-er moves for him. His character is so flimsy because his dad never fully loved him. He’s got a really nice voice, though.
Wang Su, Are you gonna let your dad control who you marry a 2nd time? See how that turned out before.
While I don’t care for Jin’er, she is in large part a victim of her circumstances. If she had said ‘no’ to the conniving she’s been asked to do, someone would have killed her or she would have had to go far away and start over. But her love for Zitan and resentment of Awu kept her in the game. If Yuxiu had been put in similar positions as Jin-er, she would have refused, been willing to die and told Awu if given the chance.
The more humbly born people get used so badly.
I’m in shock over Aunt Xu. She is ride-or-die. She pre-empted Awu from telling XQ that Zitan is behind the Lianyu Mountain massacre. 🪦, Aunt Xu. Only Aunt Xu, Pang Gui, Yuxiu and Xiao Qi are loyal to Awu. No one from the noble class.
true..how many times had he known Awu (the person he loves the most after himself) was in danger when he was in the prime of his power (like the Huizhuo incident) but he never tried to truly help her cause it will mess up his grand plans. If he can do this to the person he loves the most, everyone else is dispensable.

In this story Awu really can’t be understood . She cares more her loved ones and family rather than her husband for she kept secrets. She doesn’t want to tell her husband like for example the issue of wang quianer before .

这剧演得最差的就是徐姑姑和宋怀恩，都是靠着拿腔拿调去演绎角色，太单一
Shin'er's storyline is absolutely tragic. Although two-faced and jealous, the constant abuse she received by controlling and powerful people is so sad. The motif of " woman betraying and then being abused" is both profound and rather cliche for this character. For example, she served Awu since childhood, was "called" sister only in name, and had hoped to become a concubine when Amu married the man they loved. However, it was the maid who saved and served Amu for a short time who legally became Awu's sister/ sister in law, made noble, and married the general she loved. And then we have her trying to drug, successfully drugging, and threatened to spy on Amu by the foreign besotted crown prince's henchman. The outcomes? The empress manipulates her by using her feelings for the prince, she's raped by the henchman, and only made a noble concubine out of the prince's affection for Amu and not because he is in love with her. Her resentment and hurt almost appear justifiable. Even after becoming royal claiming Awu had died, she was still seen as Awu's slave.
Jiner bemoaned the fact that she always got the crumbs of Awu's plate even though they grew up together & she was regarded as a sister by Awu. Familiarity breeds contempt & that's what happened with Jiner. Quite sad.
This episode is about to get ugly you wanna know why...
