  • In this video, 2019 Setup 7/13: Alphas SV & Steez Fle-X-Lite, I explain my uses for this setup and how it compliments my lineup.
I use the Daiwa Alphas SV and Daiwa Steez Fle-X-Lite for my all-round moving/reaction bait setup. I cast crankbaits, jerkbaits and all other moving baits from 1/4oz-1oz with this setup. The taper allows me to keep the hook pinned on fish. The soft taper has enough give to allow the fish to grab the moving bait well enough to get a good hookset.
Rod: Daiwa Steez Fle-X-Lite (7ft Medium)
    Reel: Daiwa Alphas SV 7.2
    Line: 12lb Sunline Reaction FC

No. It is the Alphas SV. The original one that cake out a few years back. Still a solid performing reel.

Thanks for the review! Is this rod really rated for 1/8 ounce bait? Will it work with such a small weight?

I just noticed one reel is left hand retrieve in the other video you use a right hand reel. Is there a reason for this or just because you can?

I have no problem using left or right handed reels. When I see a good deal on a used reel (LH or RH) on the TackleTour.net forums, I cant let LH or RH stop me.
