I had an M14 gearbox to work at, guy bought it used from another guy... Motor had a really hard time pulling the spring back, and he didn't know why... As soon as i took the GB out, i realised there was grease on the entire Gearbox, HopUp unit... grease everywhere! So i took it apart to find the gearbox literally filled with heavy duty machinery grease, all the gears, the spring, the fucking piston... it was everywhere... some people shouldn't be allowed near AEG's

This reminder the asg spas 12 I recently bought second hand ... grease everywhere, making the already hard to grip pump into an horror... the previous owner tough that greasing between the pump and the body will help him pump ... while it's only the spring inside that is hard.
Yup, I've warned people against Prowin hop-up units before. Whenever someone has severe feeding issues at the field, the gun will often have a Prowin unit installed.
Håkon T. Yeah. I didn’t have a rotary hop in my stock rifle, so I upgraded to that. So far it’s run every hopup bucking and nub I’ve thrown at it pretty well (GG, Maple Leaf, Prommy, Modify, etc.)
I bought a gun for around 30$ in Rust skins on discord and when I received it, it had 2 literal live cockroaches one on the charging handle and one of the pistol grip. It was aweful, very aweful. At the end I fixed the gun and it is completely insane how good it is. It is an ICS Bushmaster Carbon 15 10 years later and it is still a beast on the field.
What's your experience been like with umbrella armoury r-hopped tight bore barrel and prowin hop-up unit drop in kits. Just installed mine in my gun tested it on game day wasn't even hopping 28g bb's like the was no hop at all 25m range Umbrella say there's a 5000 round break in period but surely it should at least work

KWC tell people that their BAX system needs 500 rounds to start working... but it doesn't. Just sounds like more fairy tales to me. Negative Airsoft the funny thing is, UA r hop isn’t even a true r hop. It’s a unknown s hop like material. Reason I say this is because the patch will start to crack on the outside, which silicon tubing should not even come close to cracking in airsoft conditions
How do you find out the correct nozzle length after an hpa conversion in a vfc m4? You probably wouldn't recommend hpa at all but I'm sure you know a lot about nozzle placement and the compatibility of different rubbers and HU's. I fiddled a lot with a maxx HU and different hop rubbers but haven't been satisfied yet. Probably because my F2's nozzle is considerably longer than the vfc's it seems..
@Shrde215 i had a madbull when I first attempted teching and it was such a ball ache to get working, once I got it somewhat working it was such a downgrade compared to the stock g&g hop up that I got rid of it. BB's would dribble out of the barrel every other shot, the hop was all or nothing and the range and accuracy was worse than stock. In the end I just put a tightbore in the stock hop up and it out ranges some snipers now
@Shrde215 dunno about the madbull, but the prowin is so nitpicky about barrels, rubbers and nozzles that it's a pain in the butt. Not a bad chamber if you get it working right....IF.
Maple leaf macaron bucking (they offer it with 50° through 90°) and also a Maple leaf nub. Just did that job on my Amoeba AM-009 last night and I will tell you it was a night and day difference. Love the results. If you are in the states, Airsoft Atlanta has them both stocked, couldn't find another retailer that had them both. Ran me 16 bucks total I think
@Negative Airsoft On GBB Pistols, do you want the loading nozzle to snap straight back or should it stay in the hop chamber for a short while when the slide racks back?
If the nozzle stays forwards it's a good indicator that you have a good seal between the nozzle and bucking (which is good) but too much and you have problems with it loading the next bb (but that's rare and if your having feeding issues it's more likely to be somthing else)
Maybe turn down the music a bit during the talking parts to make it easier to hear your beautiful criticism and then let the disk jockey blast during the speedy parts when u disassemble/reassemble. I think that would improve quality a lot and make your video even more enjoyable than they already are!

I notice in your vids that when you shim you shim off the step gear and not bevel to pinion. Why is that? I do bevel to pinion and get good results, I usually have to sand the grip for proper motor alignment too. You should make a video about it!

Ever since prowin stopped making their parts by hand the quality tanked. That is why I went with Prometheus. It is a great rotary hopup. Also their tight bore inner barrel. I have not had any jams or misfeeds and have always empty the mag with all bbs used.

If it's working fine, keep it. The prowin is pretty damn good. This guy's hating on it for no reason. Any aftermarket hop up unit can have feeding or compression issues due to slight variations in tolerances in all sorts of guns.

Had the same issue with my STG 44 hop, but that was not the most haunted. I have had two rather haunted guns. A Cyma RPK and a S&t mg42. Both had some strange fps issues and been taken apart about 80 times, different nozzles hop rubber cylinders pistons. All different permutations. In the end a stock Cyma cylinder fixed the a RPK with a particular brand of hop rubber, while I gave up on the S&T mg42. The most expensive haunted AEG was my inokatsu M240b.

It's obviously not compatible (alignment) with every gun out there but I haven't had any issues with the few I have (all flat hops but nothing special otherwise which work nicely for me. I also agree R hops are dumb). Which chambers do you suggest? Not saying you're wrong at all and everyone has different experiences obviously. Just honestly curious about the details of your opinion/experience.
Ah heatshrink aka expensive PTFE tape. Ironically Ive had a madbul hop and Prowin and had no issue with either. I do know though they are both insanely fussy

Omg thank you for stating that the madbull hop unit is worst hop unit ever... literally the wrong size, the nozzle port is too short (or tall.. i dunno) nozzle scrapes through that thing resulting in either a broken nozzle or 100 fps... WHY... what gun was this hop unit made for, cos it doesn't work in a CA M15 and it doesn't work in a dboys.. both pretty standard dimension receivers.
Laurance Beriya prowins are trash...have experienced only 5 of them and all but one would actually work straight out of the box. The variations on them where absolutely incredible
@@opairsoft8100 well, yes, this is exactly the issue with counterfeits - terrible tolerances. AFAIK real prowin have stoped producing their units several years ago and did only small batches ever since and in the same time other chinese companies have started to replicate them due to popularity. There is a way to tell if a unit is real prowin though - most of replicas have a 1mm hole on the bottom next to the tube that goes into the magazine

Those MP44 are a headache. I once got a cherry AGM and found the barrel's hop window was milled 5mm too far down the barrel.

In most cases it's best to just keep the stock hop-up unit actually. It's the hop-up rubber that does the "magic".

Omg thank you for stating that the madbull hop unit is worst hop unit ever... literally the wrong size, the nozzle port is too short (or tall.. i dunno) nozzle scrapes through that thing resulting in either a broken nozzle or 100 fps... WHY... what gun was this hop unit made for, cos it doesn't work in a CA M15 and it doesn't work in a dboys.. both pretty standard dimension receivers.

KR I use a ghk AK74m which I upgraded to hell and back it’s been a solid performer and I have yet to kill it in a major way I can’t fix

Laurance Beriya prowins are trash...have experienced only 5 of them and all but one would actually work straight out of the box. The variations on them where absolutely incredible
@@opairsoft8100 well, yes, this is exactly the issue with counterfeits - terrible tolerances. AFAIK real prowin have stoped producing their units several years ago and did only small batches ever since and in the same time other chinese companies have started to replicate them due to popularity. There is a way to tell if a unit is real prowin though - most of replicas have a 1mm hole on the bottom next to the tube that goes into the magazine

@@opairsoft8100 yes, but it is in russian. I believe the safest way to get a real prowin is to buy it from reliable source like airsoftpro cz or to get maxx from their official website instead
