I'm just hoping we don't lose her standup comedy because of her new show. She is about as funny and articulate as they come as comedians. Metaphor, simile, tempo, style, analogy, the physicality and acting. Her standup has it all, and it's ALL done VERY well. Good luck, Taylor.
Late night is where comedy goes to die. It’s the old folks home for comedians. I don’t see how she can do a daily late night show and still hit the clubs and tour to work on material for those new specials. It’s good money though, so good for her.
Taylor's Golden ticket is her delivery. I laugh at her jokes over and over even though I can say them with her, because her facial expressions are incredible. She'll do fine as a host, no problem, because of her acting.
Right. Her delivery is also singular & has been rehearsed a 1000x. It’s very different when there are 2+ people involved cuz it can be so unpredictable. I wonder how she’ll do in interviews, day in & day out, especially since that’s her Achilles heel.
His name is mud now but that was the secret to Bill Cosby and his stand up. Most of the stuff he said in his standup was not that funny. It was his delivery and facial expressions that made it funny. Can't believe that guy turned out to have always been a complete POS.
But Conan had a lot more material / economic / traditional education and success handed to him. Very sophisticated background, dad was a scientist and he got into Harvard
Taylor Tomlinson’s openness is inspirational to anyone who has had to witness a friend or family member dealing with someone with bipolar disorder or any serious mental illness. I’m hoping her ability to talk about her experiences in such an open way will help thousands of people who need therapy to get it.
been following her career for a while now and it's so wonderful to see her take this amazing, big new step in the world of television and comedy. Really really happy for her :)
Interesting to hear her thoughts on being an introvert - I imagine that's why her work is so insightful, and how she can capture the heart of a difficult topic and turn it into something that brings people together. So looking forward to the new show!
She is intelligent, open and honest and funny as hell so I will be watching her show! If it does not work- it is NOT her - it is the hellscape we call this country and the people without a sense of humor - especially direct, sarcastic and dark humor. However, she will succeed no matter the vehicle of delivering her sense of humor :)
Stumbled upon Taylor's second Netflix special sometime in 2023 loved it and went and watch the first right after. I've been a fan ever since, got to see her live in person as well which was a blast. Some people just make you feel like they deserve success and happiness and she is one of them. Can't wait to check out the late night show and the new netflix special
I love her. She's one of the best comics out there. I Hope her late late show does very well. She is just adorable it has that likability factor so I think it will.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have followed her for years; she is one of the few comedians out there who are actually funny. Her Netflix specials never disappoint, and I would LOVE to see a back-and-forth conversation between her and Bill Burr.
She is hilarious and absolutely adorable. Never heard of her until I saw her first two specials on Netflix, then she instantly became one of my favorites. Cannot wait to see more from her!
If you are an introvert, it's a very fine line to walk. I know! If you don't give yourself enough alone time and down time you will start to go crazy by what feeds you the most not being around so much weird energy
Wild to see her shorts on here 2-3 years ago and now she’s here. She never stopped working hard. So glad she found her next chapter. Can’t wait to see what’s next :)
Been a huge Taylor Tomlinson fan ever since I saw her first Netflix special. She’s an absolute original!! So happy for her success. Wish her nothing but the best. Hope she inspires a new generation of young and original female comedians.
As a 30 year old woman with bipolar who also lost her Mom with cancer, I felt seen when I watched Taylor's comedy. I often use humor to get through the tragedy and she makes me feel like it all will be okay. She is a great inspiration for those struggling with mental health and I wish her nothing but success.
She's great and I'm excited to see her show because I love her as a standup. Like most people here, I hope she continues to do standup... although I would imagine that having a late night show wouldn't leave much time for writing a new special. Either way, I really hope she's successful and flourishes as a late night host and interviewer. Standup will always be there, but she deserves the time and support to find her footing in this new role. Here's to hoping she eventually becomes the first permanent female host of the Tonight Show.
Not even a passing mention that @midnight ran for 3 great years on comedy central with chris Hardwick. It was 22 fast minutes on a dvr. I loved it. Hard to imagine this will even come close
He got Me-Tooed in 2017-18, got exonerated, but kind of disappeared. He married into the Hearst family (Patty Hearst's daughter) so he might be effectively retired. Talented guy, and I liked the tight edit and fast pace, along with the genial irreverance.@@BrianHencheyShow
@tobechukwuolumba7337 Hopefully not. Corden's show was a apparently supposed to be the U.S. version of Graham Norton's brilliant UK program but Corden, IMO, never got it to work. He's an excellent actor (Tony award!) a decent host but but a bad interviewer. Hosting a late night show requires a special combination of skills; I wish Tomlinson well.
Haha, I'm the opposite. I used to be a social butterfly up until my early 30s. Always the first one to a party and one of the last to leave. Now I'm in my 40s and I'm trying to get rid of people in my life haha.
I adore this woman! She's brilliant and beautiful, my favorite right now! Find my self scourging the internet for more content with her! Hence how I ended up here! 😂
Taylor is just adorable but in a grown up way. I have enjoyed her since i first heard her. Female comics aren't often seen as very funny and I'm glad Taylor and other women are breaking that stigma

She signed a deal for two more Netflix specials last year and she's said the stand-up isn't going away. 😄
Whew!!! That is good to hear. Thanks for the reply and info. @@timpage9424
@timpage9424 that's amazing news, thank you for sharing!
Late night is where comedy goes to die. It’s the old folks home for comedians.
I don’t see how she can do a daily late night show and still hit the clubs and tour to work on material for those new specials.
It’s good money though, so good for her.
She won't be able to use her customarily colorful language on TV, so I'm pretty sure she'll continue the standup as an outlet at a minimum.
I hope her show does well. She'll be a much-needed breath of fresh air for late night TV.
Taylor's Golden ticket is her delivery. I laugh at her jokes over and over even though I can say them with her, because her facial expressions are incredible. She'll do fine as a host, no problem, because of her acting.

Love Taylor, hate the new show. Makes no sense and certainly isn’t funny.

I absolutely adore her. She is real, honest, humble, smart, beautiful.
She is just 30, that makes her younger than when Connan took over Late Night from Letterman. Very impressive.
i think conan was also 30, very impressive either way
Looking forward to her new show!
They are both phenomenal
But Conan had a lot more material / economic / traditional education and success handed to him. Very sophisticated background, dad was a scientist and he got into Harvard
Pretty insulting to Dave and Conan to mention this woman in the same breath as those giants.
She's a total natural at it. Saw her back in the fall and she was superb. So glad to see her success.
Been following her for a few years. So happy for her success.

Glad to see she’s getting her own show. She makes me laugh and that’s no easy chore. All the best.
I wish Taylor all the best! She is hilarious and deserves all the good coming her way!
She seems to be a genuinely nice person despite her drive for success, and that is a rare combination.
