This is the most exciting news in Late Night since the Daily Show got Trevor Noah. Taylor Tomlinson is a laugh riot, and a rare talent that resonates with all demographics with her comedy. She's been selling out stadiums all over the country for a reason. I'll be rooting for her.
This is fantastic. It's just not comedy, but also the values. Love you Taylor for the values you bring to your show (not very different from the great Mr Colbert himself). Look forward to the show!
Mr. Colbert's values? Really? What values would those be? Oh.....maybe it was that "comedy" skit with him and Hillary Clinton "joking" about eating human baby meat sandwiches at the Carnegie Deli! That's right! Or maybe it was that time he was running amok on stage with a real, crying, scared baby in his arms screaming to the "voice of the d 3v i l" coming from the smoke to sacrifice the baby, not him. Must be those values! ;) ;) ;) Got it! Colbert being involved in this is such a massive disappointment. Not many late night show hosts openly reveal what they really are. Kimmel does. Colbert does. But people buy into the masks they wear on stage. Which obviously work. Taylor is way, way too good to ever be associated with this guy. Whatever he really is. I just hope it doesn't mean she too has "gone to the dark side." Hope she can stay a real person.
Conan was 30 when he landed Late Night out of complete obscurity. You can only imagine what this woman is going to do to us over the coming decades bc unlike Conan at 30 she's already fully formed. What a gift we've been given.

She's very experienced for her age and seems ready (as one can be) for the next big step. I'd be interested to see how she is as an interviewer. Her crowd work during her standup is pretty solid, which suggests that she's not uncomfortable sharing the stage. It's tricky with standup comedians because the skills for standup don't necessarily always translate to talk shows. Stephen came from an acting background, Conan was a brilliant writer even if he was unknown to audiences, Jimmy Fallon was a sketch comedian who had done some standup in his early years and Jimmy Kimmel got his start as a morning radio shock jock in Arizona and California before getting into acting. There's no one path to late-night hosting, so we'll see. Wish her well.

A non-syndicated show airing weekdays at ~1am? I feel like they aren't gonna be drawing a ton of ad dollars purely from broadcast.
@@WaffleEBay12 And after the success of Carpool Karaoke, I think CBS is well aware of the impact viral content can have on a show in this time slot.
This is gonna be great. Taylor is easily one of the top 5 female comedians. I love her ability to flip observations sideways. If nothing else, she should save some money on therapists doing a late show monologue on a regular basis.
that should just say top 5 comedians or top commercials. no reason to make it gender specific there
Who else is there?
100% agree. Her stand up is fantastic. I hope the show does well
@@DanielleBaum 100%! She is in my must sees along with Birbiglia, Carr, Holmes...
@@DanielleBaumokay but if ops top comedians are all male, “top 5 female comedian” sounds better than “number 12 comedian”
I hope she gets all the support she needs, and a great team to work with, because she deserves it.
Been watching her stuff for so many years. I’m so excited for the world to get to see more of her! She’s absolutely amazing!
So happy for her! She is so funny and so quick witted. All 3 of her stand up specials are hilarious!
So happy for her, she's hilarious and her meteoric rise to stardom is so well deserved!
agreed & Happy Birthday to her!!! - a meteor 13 years in the making ... LOL
God, I so love her. People need her insightful humor.
She's smart, witty and organically funny! She caught my attention a few years back. She can dish it out and take it, too! Go Taylor!
made me tear up so happy for Taylor. definitely well deserved
Excited for her! She deserves it. She reads people so well. Has great banter with the audience. Proud of her!
I have never seen such positivity in a comment section. I am glad to see the love for Taylor 🤩! She is so good!
MAN. She's already in my Top 3 stand-up comedians, and solidly so. Now she's landed a network show -- all this before 30. What a meteoric rise. Congratulations, Taylor.
What’s your favourite joke of hers?
@@seemourbutts6679 This sequence is great, especially the imitation of strait dudes at 2:17. th-cam.com/video/DoIh446aXkk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yUOqGuTnRBs4KOVU

Excited to see what Taylor does with her new show. She's one of my favorite comedians.
It's interesting that they chose to retire the Late Late Show name. 🤔
To be fair, it's pretty hard to get rid of the taint of James Corden. He killed the late late show
I’m so damn happy for her! Such a wonderful comedian and a terrific writer and I cannot wait to see her career grow even more and her star ascend even higher - it’s more than well deserved!! 😃❤️
As an Avid Taylor fan, I am so happy for her! I clapped so hard when they announced her as host! She is so cordial and smart as a whip. She'll be a great host! Kudos!
This is great! She became my favorite comedian ever since her first Netflix special. Honestly, when I saw the thumbnail, I was hoping she was a normal guest on the show to promote her next special. You’re telling me we’re going to get WAY more of her than just another special? So excited for her
“Happy birthday. I got you a network show” 😂😂 👌
Delighted to hear this - congratulations, Taylor! I absolutely love her Netflix specials and am excited to see where she takes this new show.
This is the most exciting news in Late Night since the Daily Show got Trevor Noah. Taylor Tomlinson is a laugh riot, and a rare talent that resonates with all demographics with her comedy. She's been selling out stadiums all over the country for a reason.
I'll be rooting for her.
I used to love @midnight! Excited for Taylor and the show!
Oh, what an excellent pick she is. Well done Taylor.
Funny, the first time I saw her was on the Conan show.
Conan was famous in the industry for being a young genius writer on shows like the Simpsons iirc. He just wasn’t famous to viewers
Her stand-up is brilliant. She's very deserving of this big break. Look forward to her future on TV.
Cheering for this girl--she is so funny and clever, and so likeable.
Taylor is one of my top 2 favorite Taylors and definitely one of my favorite stand up comedians. Happy birthday and I hope your show has all the love and support it needs!
Yep her and Taylor Lautner 😍😍
I have been loving Taylor Tomlinson's shorts and stand-up on TH-cam. She is an outstanding comic. Smart, insightful and HELLA funny! Congrats to her on the groovy new gig! I can't think of another comic performing currently who deserves the Colbert Bump more than Taylor.
This is great news I wish Taylor Tomlinson the best and look foreword to her good work to come.
@midnight was a great show. Looking forward to this!
I love Taylor! She is absolutely hilarious and I can't wait to see what she does on the new show. Good luck!
BEST NEWS EVER!!! I adore Taylor! She is hilarious and will do a great job! Congratulations Taylor!
She is one of my favorite comedians! I still find myself laughing at jokes she did years ago. That is not easy to do with me 😂. Congrats to her! I will definitely be watching.
I love her standup act. I hope her comedy translate well to her show.
Love Taylors work. Followed her for a long time. When Stephen called her up on stage and she smiled, I smiled with her.
I love watching both of you. Epic!!! Congrats Taylor!
I love this, she’s my favorite comedian and is so relatable. Great choice, and I can’t wait to see the show!
She's hilarious and will kill it!
Hell yeah ! She's Great and So deserving of this . She's actually the 1st female comic I've Ever liked and looked forward to her next performance.
Congratulations to Ms Tomlinson for this career sealing position 💫
OMG - do I now have a reason to watch publicly aired TV again?!!!
I've been watching Taylor for a while now, and me and my wife absolutely LOVE HER!
A very well deserved congratulations goes out to a beautiful young lady. Kudos to you Taylor!
I'm so glad they did this, @ midnight was a great show
She's very experienced for her age and seems ready (as one can be) for the next big step.
Man I’m so happy for her! Somehow her stand ups kept popping for me and now I’m a fan! So cool that she got this!
This makes me happy. Taylor is one of the best young comics I've seen in a long time, and she is easy on the eyes, too. That's good for such a late-night presentation. She's adorable, and funny, and I can't wait to see how the show turns out. Good pick, Steven.
And, congratulations, Taylor Tomlinson. Happy Birthday!🎂🥳🍹
I heard Taylor was getting her own show and was actually happy to hear she got this shot, hearing it was also going to be PRODUCED by Colbert? Not bad for Ms. Arm Floaties. Good shit!
Absolutely great and deserved for Taylor. There are SO many amazing talents out there who need more light. KELSEY COOK is another comedienne who is just a star in the making that just needs a shot.
Saw her in Denver a few weeks ago. She is so damned brilliant, what a great turn of events this is. She's going to nail this.
I loved @midnight. I love Taylor - she's so quick and funny she'll make an excellent host once she gets comfortable with the "host moves". I can't wait to see what they come up with for the new show. Brilliant choice on their part.
Im so unbelievably excited. Favourite comedian
Love Taylor so much. So happy for her. She is INSANELY talented and so, so funny. Truly a great comedian of this generation. Can't wait to see everything!
She's awesome... All the best wishes and love!! Go and shine!!
selfishly I'm kinda already missing her standup but what a perfectly timed birthday present, well deserved and I'm sure she'll kill it dead, and do some thoughtful things with it. She always does. Congratulations Taylor!
She so much deserves this. One of the best and most entertaining standups in the country,
Well deserved Taylor! All the best!
🎉 Yay Taylor!!! That’s awesome! I can’t wait to see your new show! Right on!!
👏👏👏👏🥳🎉🎉🎉
Colbert is the very best!! Just love him and everything he does :)
That is great news. I love her standup and have followed her now for years. This show may be a big adjustment but I'm happy you've given her the chance. Well deserved.
Oh wow! That’s so great. I’ve been a Taylor fan for so long, it’s so amazing to see her getting the opportunities she deserves now! Best of luck, Taylor! You got this!! And our birthdays are only one day apart!
I felt harmony with everything you said, including that my birthday also is one day either side of hers. Happy birthdays to us all! What a present! 💖
I love her. Hope this means good things for her career. Looking forward to seeing more of her here, good choice!
Happy birthday, Taylor, and congratulations 🎊 😅😊
Wow! I haven't been this excited about an announcement in a while. I am so happy for her. She deserves so much success.
