Its a fusion on a wagon and hatchback, making it much more practical than cuvs/suvs, and it got visibility and handling of a proper car

I have my 2020 Soul LX 6 spd manual for almost a month and love it, perfect commuter car. No awd that will only just add another unnecessary load to the car. And I can just drive my Mustang GT as a weekend warrior

Yeah this car sucks unless u get the gt line. The 147 hp barely pulls, i live in va which is a very hilly area and it just sucks. Prolly good for cruisin around town ig idk, there are better cars but none look as good as this.

I love the new front end, but for me those rear tail lights are hard to swallow. Why didn't Kia slim the rear lighting down like the front? That would have made the design a bit more cohesive in my opinion. Besides that, I do like it.

I recently bought a 2020 EX. Love driving it. So try coming to this vehicle from a 2000 Fort GT Mustang with all the tire-smok'n power your could ever want. You think the EX is noise, rough riding and all. Try my Mustang. It makes the Soul feel like your on a mattress it so comfortable. If you're used to luxury or boat-like cars - Buicks, sure you'll say the Soul has these deficiencies, but it offers just the right combination of super fuel economy, power, and usefulness. Plus, very easy to park in very crowded downtown cities.

try the electric one the Soul EV LTD is way beyond the gas powered and have 4 wheels independant suspension and can run up to 500 km easy in summer on city driving ! With 200 hp this Soul EV limited is a 6.9 s 0 - 100 km/h and fast enough on the start!

Leased the 2016 Sould EV. I'm sorry Kia decided not to sell the 2020 eSoul in the US. We really loved it... and the visibility really *does* matter. We were leasing the Ford Focus EV before the Soul... night & day. Any news on the eSoul north of the Border?

I’m buying either a Soul, Seltos or Juke because I’m short. Lol nah I just love them all. Kia is selling their vehicles reasonably with all those beautiful features to get their products out there. I test drove a Soul and it does feel higher than driving a sedan. Will buy one before they get cocky.

  • @RedNekLvr22

I just bought a 2021 GT-Line, non-turbo version, here in the US. I prefer that trim level much more the the Turbo trim, which is over $5,000 more. I lose a few features like push button start and heated seats, but I don't have the stupid piano back trim and I keep the beautiful look outside, plus the 7-inch screen is more that adequate for most people's needs. The base engine in my Soul is perfectly fine for the around town driving I do and is plenty responsive when I need it.
Keeping to that more midgrade trim is the Soul's sweet spot in my opinion. You might not get every bell and whistle, but you'll also not pay through the nose either.

Interesting most other reviews on TH-cam praise the CVT and stated it’s one of the best ones on the market.
Goes to show you it’s purely subjective.

Aero 2.3_HOT Thanks for watching! I can’t speak for other reviewers, but owning a CVT-equipped vehicle myself (2018 Subaru Outback) and having driven many others I can say, objectively, that it’s quite loud and isn’t as nice to use as the six-speed automatic Kia used previously. Thanks again for watching!

    • @luigidicarp9521

i drove many cvt for car renting from small car to crossover. if they say that CVT's "one of the best ones on the market" means its comparable to the worst A/T trans. You only need CVT for gas price/milage. but if you are going to keep it, goodluck with your hard earned money. also try slowing down, then suddenly floor the gas, then reply to me how you like it.

    • @Ian-mv4qq
      @Ian-mv4qq 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@luigidicarp9521 what's the problem with keeping CVT cars? Do they not last past 3 years?
About the stopping then flooring CVT cars, of course they won't jump up to speed like non CVTs. But what situation requires you to do that anyway? Why would you want to accelerate like a race car after stopping for a red light?

I think Nissan remapped the ratios for the 2019 Nissan's onward, as that was one of the biggest gripes from former owners... Well, that and reliability of the transmissions.

  • @diegomontoya8889

I would like to find out from KIA how the original 2010 Soul had about 142 HP, then a couple years later, they added direct injection and the 2.0 L was transformed into a 164 HP powerplant. Now, we still have the 2.0 L, but we have regressed back to almost 2010 numbers... How and why did this occur? I recall a video on the Monterrey, Mexico plant that made the KIA Forte and something about the Atkinson cycle, but perhaps you could get more clarity on this, please.

I sadly like the prior gens much more. The turbo was way cheaper than the current Soul and looked much nicer. Prior gen also didn't have a junk cvt. I'd get a prior gen Soul and do an aftermarket head unit with Android Auto while saving $10k and having a better looking/less busy looking vehicle. Just like the Hyundai Elantra, Kia did not improve the Soul enough on its next generation
