  • We review the new Kia Soul Turbo CUV in a video that focuses on features that work and those that don't. We talk about the base and loaded trim along with some of the technical parts of the underbody. Other products to consider are the Nissan Rogue, Hyundai Kona, Honda HRV, Mazda CX30 and Toyota RAV4. While the Soul has some of the best cargo capacity in the class it tends to walk a different path.

    My daughter purchased a brand new 2013 Kia Soul and she loved everything about it, until she had to sell it because she moved to NYC where she no longer needed a vehicle. The great thing was as a base model it only cost her $14K . She was elated. She is in the market for another vehicle now, and I am sure she will get another Soul. I will recommend that she get the base model again thanks to this review.

    I'd love to see a review on the Hyundai Elantra GT N-Line. It uses the same 1.6T and 7spd DCT from the Soul, but you get a "tuned" suspension, faster steering ratio, stiffer engine mounts, and a multi-link rear. I recently bought one, and I'm absolutely loving it. It would be interesting to hear your opinion on the car. I love your reviews! So honest and unbiased. Thanks!

    I think it would be fun to see a video reviewing the cheapest manual transmission cars like the Chevy Spark, Kia Rio and Toyota Yaris. Nothing crazy in depth, just you impressions of what they would be like to drive every day.

    What a tremendous explanation of this car, and the difference between comparing this '20 Soul to previous generations vs comparing it to something in the same category, but much more refined, such as the Mazda CX-30. It's also refreshing to hear a reviewer dare to describe any facet of a popular vehicle as "...a total disaster," or that an otherwise decent powertrain (turbo/DCT) seemed simply "slapped-in" to this car, without the proper development of the car, as a whole, to maximize the benefit of this costly, highest trim level.

    Okay Mark, I watch all your reviews. Very good and honest. I enjoy it when you team up with Jack. Good cop, bad cop, which is which, I don't know.
    You drive so many cars. Which cars get you or Jack excited? Cars that you would like to own? Maybe at $30k, $45k, or $60k?

    Throbbing light show as you "drive", what could possibly go wrong with that? It's as if manufacturers want people to die from distracted driving. Huge TVs aren't enough, let's add Las Vegas light shows.

      3ducs It's because everyone hates a car thats different. The difference with doug demuro is that he understands the market that this car is in. He knows why people want it and he critiques it based on why people would want it. On the other hand, this guy judges like it's supposed to be a sports car. Its not. It's supposed to be a practical, cheap, reliable, and quirky car and it does all of those things very well.

    Hello Savagegeese! Love your channel and can't go out there and buy a car without watching your videos! I have a question for you, i'm currently shopping for Lexus car sedan or SUV my 2 options are the new ES350 regular version and RX350 regular as well, i'm looking for the most comfortable quiet and smooth ride of these two so which one have best smooth ride you will recommend???

    • @moloono1
      @moloono1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      jacob lifore Seems like the key factor for your decision is whether you need AWD, more cargo space, and need the SUV utility. The ES350 is not AWD, does not have that cargo space as it is a sedan, and is less utility-focused by design than the RX350.

    Family has 2 Kia Souls - a 2017 Turbo and a 2020 Turbo. My daughter gets the older one - she's a new driver and my wife gets the newer one. Gotta say they're fun to drive and plenty of room in them. I'm 6'1" about 240 and fit fine in it. The tech in the 2020 works well in my opinion. The youtube review did not cover all the tech you get with these. If you're in the market for something in this class make sure to test drive one. Alot of value here. For the 2020 GT Turbo you get all LED lighting which is very cool and the front lights rival those put in more expensive vehicles like bmw, mb, audi, etc....

    You mentioned that the rear wheel wells are not “carpeted”....kudos...i find the fabric linings are just difficult to keep clean, drip melting snow and rain water on the garage floor for hours....why can manufacturers not sound deaden the wheel wells from the inside of the well?

    I just drove a 2020 Soul S from Hertz. It was great in urban driving, chain driven CVT seems less rubber bandish than the junk Nissan JATCO CVT..... and great MPG. Huge doors and glass area. Only problem was it was painted nuclear waste warning yellow. BRIGHT.

    This is for a younger demographic and they tend to like bass heavy music, so it actually makes sense for them to put such a system in this car. It's a selling point.
